Raw support 4.4 Lighroom and Nikon D4S camera

I have files Raw of Nikon D4S and the latest version of Lightroom 4 (4.4). But the files are not recognized by lightroom. Should I update to lighroom 5.4? Or y at - there a way around?

Moreover, I have just installed Adobe Camera Raw, DNG Converter 8.5. Of course the last camera raw attaches itself to lightroom...

Kind regards

Stefan

Should I update to lighroom 5.4?

Yes, if you want to open files Raw D4S in Lightroom, since the Raw support has been added in point 5.4.

Camera Raw plugin | Supported devices

Or you can continue to use the DNG Converter.

Of course the last camera raw attaches itself to lightroom...

Camera Raw is a Photoshop plug-in. Lightroom doesn't have Camera raw as a plugin. The Camera Raw engine is integrated into Lightroom code.
