RDP of Vista professional for 2008 Server error

I'm running Vista Business SP2 tent to connect to a Server 2008 SP1 via Remote desktop (rdp client 6.1) but after entering my user name and pw I get the following error.
An of authentication error code: 0 x 507.
Remote Desktop is enabled on the server with allow the connection of any version of selected remote desktop.  I can connect from an XP machine very well.  It is therefore something with Vista.  Any ideas?

  • Is it possible that I can buy an upgrade to Vista professional for Vista Ultimate?

company from vista upgrade to windows 7 ultimate

I have a PC where Vista Business came pre-installed.  I ignored the offer to upgrade to Windows 7, which was to come out soon.  Now, I need to use the bitlocker feature that is not available on my version of Vista.  It seems that my only option to achieve this functionality is upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate and I need to buy a new license of Windows 7.  Is this correct?  Given that Windows 8 is expected this year there will be an offer for me to upgrade to it at a special rate?  Is it possible that I can buy just an upgrade of Vista professional for Vista Ultimate?  Thank you.

Because Anytime Upgrade is no longer available for Vista, you will need to buy a copy to standard retail or upgrade to Vista Ultimate.  Vista has been on the shelves of retailers for some time, you may need to look on online auction sites.

Remember that Vista Ultimate only adds multilingual, Bitlocker and Extras.  Are you sure that you need?

If you are seen Windows 7 please download and run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to determine the State of your current software under Windows 7.

Windows 8 is radically different from Vista and Windows 7.  Make sure that you preview before you buy.

My personal choice would be to continue using Vista Business or upgrade to Windows 7 Professional.  Windows 7 Ultimate does not even have Extras.

I am considering establishing a separate virtual lan for systems work in that I can do my tests.

I thought that someone has already done and was hoping a ' oh yes, that's what you do, it's easy "answer...

Yes I could do that and these questions have already been answered ad nauseam, but I'll tell you why I do not give indications of the steps step-by-step when I see things like "(Education pour MCITP)" and it's because if you can't figure it out on your own, you are not qualified to be a professional anything whatsoever in my book! "   Now please don't take that as harsh as it may seem I have really don't mean that highly however the point I'm trying to do is, especially when it is currently professionally, with labour or professional certifications, I certainly don't expect any who all know on a given topic a, but what I expect is a part to be able to find the answers that are already out there When it is not the very first person to come across a given number.

I gave the server a static ip address, I booked on the router and used in bridge for the adapter. AD and DNS has worked well, but the dhcp service has failed. It seemed at odds with the dhcp router.

Of course, it will conflict with router DHCP Server of the local physical network when you use bridged on a virtual machine running a DHCP server, it is basic networking question.

Is there a way to do a virtual router? I want the team to be separate and not have the ability to 'see' my dhcp router, or any other PC.

But I need to pull the static information and dns somehow.

It's there, reading the chapters 14 and 15 are along with networks in general orders and there are several diagrams in these two chapters which, in my opinion, help to give you the answers to these questions.

There are several ways to reach your goal and I know for a fact that he has already covered by these forums and other places on the Internet it seems ridiculous to repeat it once again here and beside that you really learn if responses are just handed to you vs student, research, practice, etc..

Your question of Windows is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums as it is related to maximize the number of RDP session for Office remote connections to the server. Appropriate in instances of Windows Server.

  • Services for SQL Server 2008 Express are not listed. No error message when installing.

    Hello community,

I installed SQL Server Express 2008 (without SP but with SQL Management Studio) on a Windows XP 2002 SP3 32-bit. Used to install operating system user is a member of the administrator group
The SQLManagementStudio_x86_ENU.exe installation file was downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=7593 . Express Edition has been selected during the installation. All prior checks have been adopted (with the exception of 1 and 2 does not apply). I chose this version with management tools that I will need them for a quick change at a later stage.

Then I installed on SQLServer2008SP1-KB968369 - x 86 - ENU.exe, which is the general Service Pack 1 for SQL Server 2008, which has been downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20302. All prior checks have been adopted (with the exception of 1 and 2 does not apply). The installation window title was SQL Server Service Pack 1. In the step select the components, I had no other choice than the selection of shared components / basic management tools. To the right of the screen, it says "Express with Advanced Services" edition / Patch level: 10.0.1600.22

It ended with a message saying that your SQL Server 2008 upgrade completed successfully. The information contained in the mentioned log at the end of the installation displays no error message.

    Here is the troubled part

Then I tried to install a different SW that has SQL Server 2008 SP1 as a sine qua non. What he did not. Then I rebooted and wanted to see what version was indeed installed.

Control Panel - Add/Remove software : 5 entries, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 backward compatibility / Microsoft SQL Server 2008 / Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Native Client / Microsoft SQL Server 2008 political / setup of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 supports files (no mention of SP1, can this be correct?)
Control Panel - Services : there is no service of any kind that has SQL Server on its behalf. This is very probably a major problem, a google for that advice that there should be more of them
    Regedit - HKLM - SW-MS - MS SQL Server - 100 - Bootstrap Release - current Version : 10.1.2531.0 (Diffferent than SP1, think?)
Cmd - osql-u its Pei : named pipes provider: could not open a connection to SQL Server [2]. / Login timeout expired

I reboot several times since then.
I don't know the status of the installation before installing the SP1, I knew I'd need SP1 anyway.

I suppose that services SQL Server issue resolved would be a big step forward.

Anyone has an idea on what I could check?

    Thanks in advance, Laurent

  • XP Home RDP for Windows 2008 Server Dot4 port printer not redirect

Any ideas on how to get this to work?

If you use a printer on a local system and expect to see door through the connection of the DRC for the Terminal Server services system, I think that you will need to have the printer driver installed on the server.  We get only Windows Server 2008 systems, where I work, but for Windows Server 2003, what I described was necessary.  So that my local printers appear in my Terminal Server session, I needed to have the printer drivers installed on the server.

  • Windows 2008 Server Standard not install KB3099860 with error code 8000FFFF

    Hello

I look after 3 x Windows 2008 Standard Edition servers. Two of them to date very well and are up to date with updates. One of them however, which is identical in hardware to either of the other two and even fewer programs (we use it as a simple file server), fails on the last update released December 2015:

KB3099860 a security update for the .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 2 in Windows Vista Service Pack 2 and Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2: 8 December 2015

I tried a variety of things after having studied the problem these past few days, including:

1 Uninstalling some updates before this one and see if they re - install. They are all re - install fine until I get to it where it fails with 8000FFFF error code so this leads me to believe that this is not in itself a problem with updates

    2. manually and also linking this Microsoft 'fixit': http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/windows-update-error-8000ffff

    3. how to install the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Server 2008 that installs but does not report errors

    4. manually by downloading the fix and trying to install - does not work.

    5. all the details here: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/ae6e81e9-5c49-4826-89bc-04a676992706/error-8000ffff-windows-server-2008?forum=winservergen

including rename them the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution Windows Update and giving of right on drive C for "Network Services" - still does not work.

    6. as it is associated .NET I tried to repair .NET facilities that exist on the server (2, 3, 3.5 and and re-apply updates, but even once, fails on it.)

So, what should I do now? The behavior may suggest that it is that only this particular associate .NET that is a failure and that future ones will work, but it's "critical" and which relates to the .NET version which is initrinsic to the Windows 2008 operating system I think I should get it fixed :)

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you

    Hey Ryan,

This kind of low printers end support client operating systems only, it supports all print server OS or Citrix or RDP.

You can find the printer specifications below, only the operating system on the system Rquiredments are supported:
