BlackBerry Smartphones what the purpose and the difference between Blackberry devices and software updates to the Blackberry Manager?

I got my new Blackberry Curve 8330 3 weeks red and I installed the BB Desktop Manager that comes with the CD called Blackberry user tools.   Now when I click on "updates" on the lower part of the Desktop Manager, a popup window with all sorts of information that I don't know where to go first.  My version of the op is a 4.3.0 xxx what is desktop software for? Is this software integrated with the Desktop Manager, or is it a separate thing?

Hope to hear from you beautiful peeople soon to explain this for me!

Not necessarily. I'm a tech person, so I'd rather have the latest greatest version of ang of the software I use. So if you are happy with 4.3 and it is not crashing or causing errors so feel free to continue using it.

You can always try 4.7 and if you don't like it uninstall and reinstall 4.3

  • Verification of drivers and software updates via tune

I have a HP 2000-350 (US) Notebook PC that is out of warranty. (Product no. QE279UA #ABA, Serial #[edited by Moderator serial number})

My problem is I went to the driver and software updates and scan from HP for updates and it did not work. After clicking on the link to verify the driver and software updates, it started working and then stopped. I don't have any comment. When I clicked on the button 'show solutions' I have nothing.

In particular, I looked for any update of the bios and see if all the drivers needed to be changed.

Went to HP support and of course got the "no ransom" story "no support" even if I had problems with their support driver free.

Any ideas on what is the problem? Solution?

    Thank you

Sorry to say the Scan function still does not work. Best option is to choose your operating system using the selector drop-down list and manually check the drivers/software list.

  • Odd email blackBerry Smartphones: what the rim?

I received email on my torch very well, but sending is weird in the last 24 hours. Some messages go very well, some other you end up with a red X instead of a checkbox in the message list and the status message says "all attempts to return it to failed." Any suggestions?

In addition, I got a lot of strange messages that appear to come from [email protected]. The topic is: RIM_bca28a80-e9c0 - 11 d 1-87fe-00600811c6a2

The body of the email says, "this message is used to carry data between your BlackBerry handheld and a home server. Please do not delete, move, or reply to this message - it will be processed by the server. "Then, there is a long series of numbers and letters. Each email and I received about 9 or 10 of them this week, has an attachment identified as FTES. DAT, but I have not opened any of the accessories.

Anyone has any ideas on my outgoing e-mail problem and these emails weird I think. ? Are they really the rim?

To address your problem of outgoing messages, remove the battery while your phone is on, then replace it a few seconds later.  That will often fix these problems (and otherwise, you might find that your phone will work at least smoother).

In regard to the messages that you receive, yes they are rim, and they are legitimate.  I can honestly tell you what is their goal, but it has nothing suspicious about them.

  • Switching devices blackBerry Smartphones using the Desktop Manager

I just got my Torch 9800 replacement since my first only the battery was drainning (apparently a common problem).

Until I returned my old Torch 9800 I backed up and also used the device switch option in Desktop Manager. When it asked me to connect the new device, I unplugged the old camera, he took to the shop orange and then plugged my new camera.

Then an error has occurred and asked me to update the software on the new device. I did it... and then when I use switching devices, it asks me to connect the current device but the problem is... I don't have the camera more.

As I backed up all the data, I did a restore. He restored most of the data, but it has not restored my apps.

Any idea on how I can do?

I hope it is interesting all that.... and I get a better battery life this time!

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Ah... never mind. While the device switch Wizard can indeed move a few apps, the backup/restore process does not have applications. So, in the State you are in, you must go to the source of your applications and re - get them. If you by AppWorld, the process is very smooth:

    • KB17625 How to install or transfer has already purchased apps from BlackBerry App World for BlackBerry smartphone

If you have from other sources, then you should see if these sources are a simple way for you. I hope you have good record of all your activation keys... and some will indeed have to be regenerated some developers to attach the key on the BB SPINDLE, which is now different since you have a new device.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphones preventing the Office Manager to load at startup

    Hello

I am running Vista and the latest version of BB Desktop Manager on my laptop.

Sometimes, I may be upward and quickly operational, but DM takes forever to load on my laptop and prevents other programs from starting too.

Is there a way to set the DM so that it starts only when I want it--not when Windows starts?

    Any help is appreciated!

This option is provided when installing Desktop Manager. You must change the installation of add/remove programs on your computer option. You will find Edit option and then go into the repair Office Manager. Uncheck the startup option.

Another way changes the windows startup process using the command msconfig .

    Welcome to the skully13 forums

No, the phone OS update should not affect your phone somehow. As a general rule, you can refresh using any carrier version as long as it's for the same phone model number. The only thing you need to do is delete the Vendor.xml file located in C:\Program Files\Common search in Motion\AppLoader before using Desktop Manager to do the update

  • The Task Manager does not recognize the ram upgrade

    Hello HP community!

Well, it seems that I have a problem with my ram upgrade. My system came with 2 GB of ram, and I had to upgrade (with another 2 GB), I am using programms like autoCAD, 3dsmax, photoshop, etc who have special needs on the RAM. Here's the problem; While the bios memory being recognized (4096 MB), what the task manager of the total physical memory is only 2046 MB! I also did the update to the BIOS, but it didn't work. The new memory I plugged in has the same features with one installed. The only difference is the manufacturer, the new is Kingston.

    Here are the characteristics of my system;

Operating system installed: Windows Vista 32-bit

Product name and number: HP Pavilion dv7 - 2030ev

    • Motherboard: Quanta 3624 intel PM45 (supports up to 8 GB of ram)
    • CPU: Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo P8600 2.40 GHz (64-bit Architecture)
    • RAM: 2 GB DDR2 PC2-6400 800 MHz 6.0 CASE Samsung latency
    • BIOS: F.46

    The RAM I bought is:

    Latency CASE of Kingston DDR2 PC2-6400 800 MHz 2GB 6.0

    (The package information to be exactly: KVR800D2S6 / 2GB PC2 - 6400 CL6 SODIMM 200 - Pin)

I also mention, I tried the only Kingston on a Slot and the system worked without any problems...

I would be so grateful if you could help...

    Thank you in advance,

    Nick Chatzikonstantinou

    Hi, Nick:

One of our experts at the top of the forum (DavidPK) page suggested that you look at this solution to the question of memory you meet...

    I quote David:

"In the system startup tab Configuration screen, the Advanced Options, it proved that there is a check mark in the maximum memory box.  Once removed and the applied change, Windows recognized all the Ram (less the reserved) after the reboot. »

If please give than to try and post back and let us know if that frees a memory system for you.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, what is the difference between the messages icon and the one with my e-mail address as title?

Hi, I'm new to blackberry. I just got a "BOLD", and some of the icons seem to be redundant. If someone could explain why I would really appreciate it. I had trouble getting the results of a search of forum so I apologize if this topic has been discussed recently.

What is the difference between 'messages' (which looks like an envelope) and the other envelope with the globe on it (which appears as [email protected])?

Can I delete one? I don't understand why there are two.

Also, why is it "medianet" and "browser"? They aren't going to the same place? What is an AT & T thing where they try to control the universe?

    Thanks for your help,

    KG

With the BlackBerry, you can have up to 10 "BIS" (BlackBerry Internet Service) email addresses, but also a company e-mail sent to your BlackBerry address.  It is also SMS (text) messages, PIN of PIIN messages and MMS messages.

Each BIS email address gets its own icon which will appear only this e-mail by e-mail address.  The Messages icon ALL E-mail addresses sent to the BlackBerry.  It will also display all messages in pine and optionally show the SMS (text) messages and phone calls, and IM still active cats.  But there is no icon for only PIN messages.

The fact that there is no way to separate the email from company to a simple icon is a point of contention for some users.  There is a product (Empower BES Mailbox - OTA / Web $20) which will create an icon that displays only the Enterprise email.  However, you can also create a saved search to display only the BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) email.

If you prefer using a simple icon of Messages or have separate icons for each email address is a matter of personal preference.  If you have only one or two emails being sent to your BlackBerry, there is probably little difference.  However, I have six accounts BIS as a BES account delivered and many prefer to have a place to look when I hear or feel that a new message has arrived.

In addition, equipped with a full QWERTY keyboard device, I'd rather be able to use the shortcut keys to access ALL the applications on my BlackBerry.  In fact, I have everything I don't need (including Messages, all messaging icons, address book, calendar, Notepad, etc.) in a folder called hidden since I never need them!
