Re: Data (:)) is almost full, but cleaning is not efficient.

Hello

Recently my laptop has been said, that the data reader is really low. It is said 5.28MD free 298 GB. I removed some things from programs and features, but instead, it reduces the Windows (c) (d) data. I don't know how to reduce it. I removed all my photos, videos and reduced my music, but it had no effect.

When the warning message appears, saying to click on it to reduce. I click on it and it's a cleaning disc, but it only goes in the trash that I emptied regularly and has no effect what so ever. There is literally no point. What should I do?

Help me please and use simplistic language.

We don t know what you recorded on your partitions and how you have organized your disk but if you need more free space on partition D move the data from the D partition to an external device like a USB stick or external HARD disk.

For example, if you have 10GB of music on D move them to the USB key and you will get 10 GB of free space on that partition. It's not a big deal.

Maybe you also need to clean the system. Download and install CCleaner and use it from time to time to remove all saved temporary files.

One last thing: maybe is system backup option enabled on your laptop (daily, weekly, monthly?

    Hello

My C drive shows me using 565 GB with a total area of 596 GB so I'm close to running out of space.

Strange thing is that I can't know which uses all the space!

I looked at the size of all files on the C drive, and what follows is the biggest:

    Program x 86: 32 GB

    Windows: 50GB

    Users: 271GB

Which makes a total of about 350 GB, this is far from the projection of 565 GB used when I look at the properties of the C drive.

    So, where's the rest?

I have the list hidden files and I looked at disk cleanup and defragmentation.  I also deleted the files in system restore, but it's all the little things.

The difference, I'm looking for is huge then where is he?

Control Panel / System / Protection system allows you to choose the amount of disk space to use for the Restore Points. I use 5 GB that gives me about 6 points of restoration.

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

The ONLY way to return to its original state of the recovery partition is to do a full erase of the hard drive and reconfiguration of the PC itself Žtat factory use HP Recovery Media - and, as said, that will delete EVERYTHING on the drive!

If you have backups of the image, as you requested, then you really don't need to partition and can safely remove to reclaim that space.

If Windows won't let you delete this partition, then try using this: Best Free Partition Manager for Windows | MiniTool Partition free

    Good luck

  • Factory_Image (D) almost full!

    Hello guys,.

I wonder if someone could help :)

I've had my HP computer now for almost 3 years, under vista, but I noticed recently that the "FACTORY_IMAGE(D:))". "is almost full, but I don't understand why. Its capacity is 14 GB, space used is 12.1gd and free space is 1.94 GB. I have tons of space on my C drive.

All my photos, music, games, etc. etc. are stored on the C drive and there I 564 GB of free space, which is a lot :)

The only thing he says is on drive D is "valorisation" and I understand it's simply because if there are problems with the PC so I can restore to my usual set up, but this "valorisation" file said that he holds only 4.77 MB.

I never once backed up my files on CD (a little risky ano) but I just don't want to how to get more free space on drive D. I do a back up? Who would even help that all my pictures and music etc are on the C drive.

I might be nonsense here, but I have no no that much about computers, but I must put the last "restore point" on a CD then wipe the D drive? Is the D drive just build with restore points and it becomes progressively larger until it is moved to a CD then wiped and then it starts to build up again? Seems like a good idea, but I might be nonsense so please tell me if I am lol

    I need help please :)

    Thanks in advance

    Stephen Cooper

The Factory_Image partition is here to restore your computer how it was when it left the factory. You should not do something for her.

If you do not get the actual Vista low disk space warnings, do nothing. If you are, you can refer to this article:

Try resetting your device. This will not erase your data stored on that device.

    • Press and hold the sleep/wake button
    • Press and hold the Home button
    • Press and hold both buttons until the display turns off and on again with the Apple logo on the subject.

Alternatively, you can go to settings - general - reset - Reset all settings

If that doesn't work, restore your device to factory settings. Please note that this will delete the data on your device.

  • TouchSmart 300-1120: drive recovery (D) shows that it is almost full. How to clean it?

I see now that my HP TouchSmart all in his recovery drive is almost full.  What should I do to clear up?  I find that what follows in the player: recovery (folder) and HP_WSD.dat.  Nothing else is seen here.

The reader says he began with 12 GB and now only has 1.0 rest.

I read that someone had this problem but it uninstall him their printer?   I use the HP Deskjet 3052 a. It would do me no harm? It is a wireframe / wireless.  I don't see how it would have something to do with the recovery disk.

I read that if you use Norton Online Backup, he would send information to the D: drive. However, I use Norton 360, but don't use online backup. Norton backup is only used once in a great while and used with an external HD.  I'm lost now, what to do to do this, please I hope someone can help me understand this.

    Hi again CurryK15,

    Thanks for the quick response!

It is normal that the recovery Partition to use a considerable amount of space. Over time, your system will be periodically save your system information in case a system recovery becomes necessary.

While I do not recommend it, you can delete the recovery Partition by following this resource on the removal of the HP recovery Partition. This resource is geared toward the withdrawal of this drive on laptop computers, but the same principles apply to your office.

    I hope this helps!

  • My C drive is nearly full, but my D drive is almost empty

Hi all. I have a hard drive 1 TB, divided in a 250 GB drive C and 750 D player. My problem is that the C drive is nearly full, but the large D drive is almost empty. I have urgent need to move the partition, or transfer a huge chunk of files from C to D drive. The first would be better, or even delete the partition and have one disk, but I tried to move the partition using the Windows utility, and all I could do was reduce the C drive. I don't see how to remove the partition either.

Which leaves the possibility of moving one of the large folders on drive C to D, which seems risky, but an it vendor told me that I could move the big folder of users (75GB). It seemed risky, but being desperate I tried - and got the error code 0 x 80070057. I would be grateful for any advice on how to solve this stupid problem.

You can safe your Documents, photos, videos and music files to the other disk.  Navigate to the folder users, your user folder.  Right-click on each one and choose move.

Remember that the overall performance will begin to suffer when you exceed 75% c in use.

However, your real problem is the fact that your hard drive is partitioned and it need not be.

Copy all your data on the D drive in an external storage device.

Right click on computer, select Manage

    Click on disk management

Right click on D and choose Delete volume

Right click on the C partition and choose the volume of measurement.  Extend it up to the limit.

Copy the data on your external storage on the largest new C space

Now, you'll have one almost your entire partition 1 TB.

  • Recovery disk - I restored my files, but the drive keeps telling me that it is almost full

Recently, I backed up my files on the recovery drive. I have restored my files, but the drive keeps telling me that it is almost full. I don't know how to fix this.

Restoring a backup does not remove the backup files.  You must remove them manually, unless you want to save in case another restore of that backup is necessary.

And if you did it on your manufacturer's recovery disk, it wasn't a good idea.  This disc is for recovery only and should be used for anything else.  Find another drive to use for backups.  If this is the case, it may be best to contact the manufacturer and tell them that you were doing so they can help you to correctly resolve the situation without causing problems for disk recovery and your ability to use it as it should be used the need ever.

    I hope this helps.

I tried several times to re - open Photoshop CC but within 2 seconds it crashes when loading. I then decided to upgrade to the 2014 version, update. This only happens when I'am connected under "other user account" as I had been when the accident happened first and not as an administrator. I purged the cache, more space for performance, etc. in Admin mode, I ran permission repair in public services, but when I change the user account, photoshop crashes with seconds loading. • Delete a snapshot in ESXi 5 when data store is almost full

I'm very skiddish on use or deletion of snapshots after a disaster, I had with them last year. So, I thought I would get your recommendation before you continue.

I have a virtual machine running on the host with about 700 GB of total space on the data store. The virtual machine uses about 500GB and there is only a snapshot of the virtual machine. The virtual machine uses a disc thin provisioned. I received a warning that there is insufficient data on the space store and there are only about 120 GB left. Is it safe to remove the snapshot? Should we double the size of the virtual machine to "consolidate? The last time I did it with multiple snapshots and a lot less space, it's disaster.

Edit: Here's what's on the data store (for this virtual machine). There is an another VM on the same data store which shows it takes 40 GB of space.

    ApolloVMonDatastore1.png

Here's what it says on the storage to Apollo (the virtual computer name) under summary in vSphere:

    ApolloVMsummary.png

The basic disk can only 'baloon' upward only by the amount of data in the snapshot, which is 214 GB function provided screenshot and to be on the safe side, you have to assume that he will do. If you need to at least 214 (I'd Go 220) free on the data store for a safe removal-snapshot operation.

Worse: these 214 GBs are given new, added after the creation of the snap. You the kickoff of the removal process. Basic disk to grow per GB 214. Currently, it consumes 355 GB so it will grow up to 569GB. Only one time all the data of the snap is committed to basic disk, the snapshot will be deleted. This is why you need some 220 GB free and available on the data store to start the removal process.

Instant deletion on an engine out of VM might help a little, but looks like not as much as you want.

If you shut down the virtual, pagefile will be deleted which will free up to 4 GB.

Also if you delete a wink on the virtual machine performance, actually another cliché will be created to store the changes that VM is done during the delete operation. According to the rate of change of data within your VM and the time required for the delete operation, it will take little extra space on the data store as well. This need for extra space can be avoided by removing the snap while the VM is turned off.

However, in your case the virtual computer power on off won't help

Bottomline - if you can, find a way to get 220 + GB of free space on your data store before you delete the snapshot. Otherwise, the next option is VM migration to a different data store with storage vMotion (without interruption) and deletion of snapshots there (once again, potentially without interruption). A last - cloning in another data store that involves downtime.

And you cannot clone to USB.
