Don t start installation of recovery if laptop s not connected to the power supply current. It is very important.

If you want to check the user s in any case manuals, you can download it from http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_manuals.jsp

    Hello

I've formatted Windows 7 with a Windows XP CD but did not setup. I wanted to know how to access the recovery partition to set it by default, everything exists on the laptop right now is Ubuntu, but I don't know, I saw an additional partition that must contain recovery files as laptop did not come with a recovery disk and unfortunately did not create a filter.

How can I access the recovery partition on the laptop having in mind, I formatted the drive Windows 7 was installed on or should I activate or something like that?

    Any help much appreciated

    Hey,.

On the second partition of your laptop (data partition), you will find a folder named HDDrecovery and it contains recovery files. The problem is that you can use the HARD drive only with the pre-installed operating system recovery feature. It would mean in your case it s too late now and it s not in use anymore.

You have created the Toshiba recovery disc as mentioned in the user manual? If Yes, you can use this disk to restore to factory settings. Just boot from this CD and follow the instructions on the screen.

If you don t have the recovery disc, you can order it here:

  • How to install the driver LAN for Satellite Pro A120

In fact, my problem is that I didn't know how to install the driver on my Satellite Pro A120 lan connect net throug.
The issue that there's no facility to do to complete the installation.

And theres other question that I need the Ethernet controller

My laptop was vista operating system installed, but I change and put Windows XP

    Please help me

    Hello

    LAN installation is very easy.
First of all, you need the correct LAN driver.
In order to download the LAN driver please visit the Toshiba driver page and choose your model of laptop.

Once the LAN driver has been downloaded, you will need to decompress.
Then you will need to access the Device Manager, choose the controller Ethernet (network cards) and must point to the place where the LAN driver was decompressed.

    Then finish the installation procedure.

  • Equium won't start - how to access the recovery partition?

Hi, my sister has a 2008 Equium A200-1V0 with Vista 32-bit, that no longer starts (probably due to damage of rootkit virus). It loads the BIOS but then goes to black screen with blinking cursor.

    F8 does not work.
F2 goes to Phoenix TrustedCore Setup utility. The Toshiba hard drive and a CD-ROM drive are listed in hand and start in the right order.

Using F12 I can get it to boot from a Win7 64 bit repair disc that I burned using my laptop.

However, it does not recognize the operating system or any image or restore points (because it is 64-bit) but he will be responsible for command prompt.

To * guest *, I can launch Notepad and when I click on file / open and double click on computer it shows 4 Hard drives as follows:

So the C: drive is listed, but without ability.

    > THIS ISN'T MICROSOFT, TOSHIBA, AND GOOD PRODUCT DESIGN.
I really put t know that should do better than to place the Microsoft sticker at the bottom.
This product key and sticker on it's just proof that you purchased the machine with an operating system preinstalled and legal active OS version. This key belongs to original OS (recovery image) that you got with your laptop and it is not a kind of universal key that you can use for the activation of the operating system if you have made the decision to install the clean version of the OS.

In General, this key is totally useless. While your computer you've got legal copy and this version, that you can install so often desired. It must not be enabled.
    > So my question still remains: can I recover my Toshiba laptop using this restore partition?
If you want to recover using the Toshiba recovery image response is not. Cannot start HARD drive recovery facility.
    > Even with a dvd of Windows Vista is genuine, I can't reload the OS
In my opinion you need make the clean OS installation using the clean installation or order original Toshiba Recovery disk on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx disc and install original (already active) recovery image.

  • Question about the partitions on satellite Pro L300-164

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 and it came with vista on the 1 74 GB partition and a data partition 73 GB but it has a folder called HARD drive recovery, but I want Vista to all of the 140 gb and have the recovery partition on a small partition of 4 GB for HARD drive recovery.

Is this possible without mucking up the HARD drive recovery?

No, is not possible, but that you can and should do is create recovery DVDs.
After doing this, you can remove this folder and organize partition how you want it to be.
Remember that you will lose the ability to install the operating system from the disk using F8 and repair my computer option.

If a problem occurs, you can install Vista using this recovery DVDs.
Please note: after installation of recovery, you will have the same structure divides again and all your saved data will be gone.

  • How can restore factory settings Satellite Pro L300-100

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro L300-100.
It kept freezing then nothing seamed to work on it. My operating system is windows Vista professional. So I decided that I had to do a full restore from CD.

So I put the recovery CD in the drive which has been in the Toshiba without looking, I installed it but it installed Windows XP Professional.
So obviously the wrong disc was put in the box when manufactured.

So I now have Windows XP Professional on my computer none on my drives work.
My cd does not work like obv that settings are not on the disk.

Is there anyway way to restore my computer without the disk that I don't have to buy one when the wrong disc was in the first place. Of course, I know that I should have checked the disk, but it is like an accident full and the disc was not correct even in the first place

    Hey Buddy

First of all a few words in that regard:
    > So I put the recovery CD in the drive which has been in the Toshiba without looking, I installed it but it installed Windows XP Professional. So obviously the wrong disc was put in the box when manufactured.

It was not a mistake or a fault that the Win XP disc with the laptop.
Your laptop computer was preinstalled with Vista BUSINES version and Toshiba portable computers that are preinstalled with Vista BUSINESS get besides a Win XP OS as an option to downgrade!

In addition you didn t receive the Vista BUSINESS recovery disk because the Toshiba laptops with the option of recovery and HARD drive recovery, Toshiba disc creator software that allows you to create an OWN Vista recovery disk.
BUT it can be done if you have not formatted the HARD drive...

You can find lots of information about this recovery disk you manual there are some info and also a reminder has been preinstalled on your system that says; It s is strongly recommended to create a recovery disk.

Well buddy. To cut this story you have just only one solution:
You must buy the drive for recovery from here:

  • Satellite L30 PSL33E - how to access the recovery partition

    Hi all

I have a L30 (psl33e) who has the tact recovery partition, but I can't find how to access.

I don't remember a CD recovery and thought that now zero or F10 key when turn the laptop would allow me to recover the system.

If I need a recovery CD to access the partition then where I'd get that?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Ben

    Hello

I think your L30 Sat was not equipped with a HARD drive recovery option and there is therefore no partition of HARD drive recovery!

If your laptop would supports the recovery of HARD drive then it should be able to restore this laptop by pressing the F8 key immediately after that the laptop has been turned on.
Then you can choose the option to fix my computer.

But as I said above, I doubt that this L30 it would support because as far as I know the recovery disk must be sent with the notebook.

If you don t have a recovery disc, then try this site:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

If you will be unable to order the disk using the above Web site then contact ASP in your country to a recovery DVD.

    Good bye

  • No system boot, how to access the recovery partition?

    Hello
While messing around with win7 and xp (from vista that was preinstalled on my system), I managed to make my computer unbootable.

I made the recovery discs when I came to my computer, but I left with my parents... which is be the other side of the world (literally).

However, I also kept the "recovery partition" intact, I hoped I could start somehow, but I don't know how.
I tried holding down the zero, F2, F8... of other ideas?

If not, is there another way to do it from a live CD? (like the one I currently use to write this message)

    Chris.

Unfortunately, you will not be able to access the files for recovery. It can be done if the laptop has only factory settings. You use updated the system with two operating systems. If you want to have the factory settings again you can have with using the recovery disc only.

I put t know how long it will take but maybe you should communicate with your parents and ask if they can send you the recovery disc as soon as possible.

Otherwise you will have to use the installation disk of Microsoft for clean operating system installation. It can also be good solution for a few days until what you expect of original disc.

  • How to access the recovery partition?

My computer is SR1950nNX. The OS was Winxp media center. The aircraft crashed and since I don't use Media Center that much I reinstalled Windows XP pro, formatting the drive on the way. The recovery partition is still available, but I can't access it since I hit F10 when booting takes nowhere. I must have wiped out the Recovery Manager. I tried to download a recovery on HP site without success Manager. Can someone help me to reinstall the original system of the recovery partition?

Thanks for the info. I think now I'll try to make a recovery disk using a linux boot disk as Hiren or Knoppix or Ubuntu even running from a live capture recording programs in the recovery partition and see if there isn't a way I can get to start. If the I386 file has a file winnt32.exe, which starts a new installation, I'm home free. For completeness of information, I will post what happens.

  • How to access the BIOS on my Satellite 5205 settings?

    Hello

I have a laptop of s703/5205 series of satellites. How can I access the bios settings? When I switch on I get the screen "Welcome to toshiba." There are some keys I press during the boot process? On my other laptop I usually press 'DEL' or 'F2 '.

I would be grateful assistance as my portable computer touchpad and, when connected, the external mouse freezes during normal operation. Sometimes I can navigate with the keys alt & tab, sometimes everything crashes. Also I get error messages saying "device connected to the usb port not recognized" Although there is no device attached to my laptop. I tried to plug an external mouse to see if that solves the problem of touchpad but the mouse freezes also.

I need to check the bios settings, bios access help would be really appreciated!

    Thank you all!

    Hello

The keys to use are dependent on the age of the laptop and also what manufacturer of BIOS you have.

Usually by pressing ESC will show the progress of the BIOS during the startup phase.

Pressing F2 usually you will take in the BIOS Setup menu, press F8 brings you to the 'Start' menu (where you can select the safe, etc) and finally F12 will give you the selection of "Boot Device" menu where you can select the hard disk, CD-Rom, etc. as boot device.

  • How to remove the bios password on Satellite Pro 6100

    Hello
I got this Satellite Pro 6100, I would like to install windows xp on it, somehow once I opened it, it's just a black screen with the password.
I removed the hard drive and I was able to access it with my computer, means that the password is not for the hard drive, but rather the bios.
What is the password of the bios? How can I reset it? I removed the Green battery which I think it is the RTC battery, it would make? How long should I wait for the settings to be reset to zero?
Y at - it no jumpers to reset the bios... ?
I don't know what my son used a password, so I need help with this...

Is it possible to kill the bios settings... ?

    Thank you

    Hello

It seems that the machine has a BIOS password. And it seems that there are only 3 options:

1 Google for the procedure how to remove a BIOS password
    2. ask your son for the password
    3. send your machine to an authorized servicepartner and allow them to remove the password, which means that you pay money for it.

  • Switching the boot partition? Satellite Pro 4270

I have inherited a SP4270 and I would like to partition the hard drive, formatting of a portion as NTFS and the other in the form of FAT, and using NTFS for installation of Windows and the FAT for a Linux installation.

Since the BIOS doesn't have the option of booting from a given partition, what can I do to give me the option to boot from one of the partitions?

    Hello

How did you create this partition?
The Partitions Magic 8 is a very useful application for creating and managing partitions. It of not possible to change anything in the BIOS. You must boot manager and you can then choose the different operating system.
But also as far as know offers Linux, creating a disk clean startup disk. This disk, you can boot Linux.
However the PM8 also utters a special function to create a Linux partition and with this partition is should be possible to boot Linux.

    Hello

I need to go there if I change the SATA to IDE settings so I can install windows XP system after I formatted the Vista.

  • How to remap the keys FN on Satellite Pro nb10t

    Hello

I got a nb10t Satellite Pro, good machine but key card looks really bad for me, [Home] and [end] keys are really far from arrows, really narrow [Tab] key, slowing really office work.

    How can I remap keys, for example to the value [home] [Fn] + [above], and {End] to [Fn] + [down]?}

Found RemapKey Microsoft, but does not have the FN key.

    Thank you

According to the mode settings special function key, you can use the function key (F key) with or without pressing the FN key extra.

    Details here
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD2503B90001R01.htm

The FN key seems to be a characteristic of Toshiba and I don t think you could remap the FN key.

However, you can try to install the Remapkey.exe that is part of the Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit. The remapkey should allow you to change the functionality of the button.

Also, the 3rd third-party tool like autohotkey would be good enough to make this work.
