Re-insalling Windows 7

I bought my laptop HP Pavilion 6 in US 4 years back with Windows 7 home premium installed.  A few times, the machine hangs and crashes.  If I want to format the computer and reinstall Windows 7.  Because I'm not having the copy CD, how format and reinstall the same?

Your computer is equipped with a recovery instead of disk partition...

This is how the recovery partition is accessible...

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

You may need to try several times to get everything above to work. If after several attempts, you have no chance, or the machine indicates that there is no recovery partition, your only option is to contact the computer manufacturer and ask for the model recovery discs...

After the reset, you should get all the updates from Windows Update EXCEPT for hardware devices. Then, you install a good antivirus. ONLY AFTER you have done this, if you replace the stuff of backups or install anything else.

  • Pavilion p6110t CTO Desktop: drivers for Windows Server 2008 and HARD drive problems

Recently, I had the hard drive with my OS failure. After replacing the hard drive and reinstall windows server 2008, I seem to have encountered some problems with drivers.  After insalling Windows, I had 3 items in my device manager that not have installed correctly. I could get the driver for the LAN port to work, but I did not get the driver to "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" and "SM Bus controller". After a little research, I believe that the graphics card is a Radeon HD4350. With this information, I still have been unable to toinstlal the correct drivers or the other of these elements. I tried several drivers listed on the support page of the drivers on the HP website, but all fo return them the same error of not finding the right operating system. The link to the driver, I used initially on my previous installation seems is no longer valid.

Also, I can't access two additoinal hard disks (sata connected). They were used with the previous installation of windows without any problem. They appear in the Device Manager but do not show in my computer. A removable disk appears that I don't know what it is. Previously I used the software to mirror one of the disks on the other in order to avoid the loss of data if a disk fails. Is one of the above players with not be able to access the drives causing the problem or the software used before the problem?

Any help on these questions is greatly appreciated.

    Ok.

I can't help you with the readers then.  It is out of my area of knowledge.  If they are healthy and active in the disk management utility, then that's all that I know these should be reported.

    As for the graphics drivers...

Download and install this free utility for files.

    http://www.7-zip.org/

After installing 7 - zip, right-click on the graphic driver file and select 7 - zip from the list of options.

Choose 7-zip to extract to: and leave it to unzip the file in a folder.  I have it extracted the file name of the file.

Then just follow the rest of my instructions to install the driver.

Of course that you you first go to where 7 - zip extract the folder and continue from there.

  • Windows 7 fresh install (Via Recovery) SP1 installs OK - no update will after install. Update crashes.

I have an older HP DM4 with pre insalled Windows Home Premium 64-bit installed.  The computer was perfect until I chose to do the free update of Windows 10.  The upgrade was very laggy so I decided to make a recovery of the system to Windows 7 since the partition.

The recovery was working fine.  I registered in windows 7.  Downloaded the update has been invited to install the SP1, I did.  After installing SP1, it asked me to update from Microsoft Update.  What I did.  Once I click on "Check for Updates", and it does.  However, it is this. The green bar just hangs.  I waited all night and still nothing.

Therefore, I have reinstalled windows via recovery again option.  No luck... I searched the forums, deleted the files the forums told me to delete, deleted newspapers, ran a convenience store, disabled services.  Yet.  No luck.

I just reinstalled Windows 7 using the minimum version of HP.  Installs just the operating system and drivers necessary.  Yet.  The same problem. I have run CHKDSK, I downloaded the latest update of Windows.  Ive tried the ' turn windows manual update, reboot, turn back to auto restart. " Nothing.

Help, please... I got lost.  I can usually fix anything... This time I ask your help...

    Thank you...

I installed Windows once more.  Install the critical updates.  Install the Windows SP1.  This time you click on "Check for Update of Windows.  Waited for quite awhile.  Downloaded Malwarebytes.  Installed, he ran.  As Malwarebytes scan a 240 windows updates popped up.  Finally.  It worked! I am now completely updated and back on track. No, I don't think that Malwarebytes had nothing to do.  I also know that it was a new facility so Malwarebytes was not necessary.  I thought that my score could have a bug or something.  I'm just happy that it worked.  I'm sorry that I have no 'official' solution, especially for those who still have this problem.  Thanks for the reply.

  • Toshiba Satellite Pro 2100 - display driver resolution - help!

My laptop screen is 15 inches and resolution 1024 x 768. He worked always good. Until I installed Windows XP SRV 2 once again. Now, the screen only works with 969 x 768 pixels. Without the ability to use the whole poster resolution. So I downloaded and installed the toshiba display driver. But still the same problem. (Black band on the right side) part of the display resolution remains unused and remains black.

I tried everything in the display settings of display resolution, but the law remains black strip unused

This unused black band is om the right side of the screen.
The rest of the computer laptop good workt without problem

A frend of mine has the same problem with a toshiba Satellite Pro 6100. After insalling Windows XP and the appropriate driver, the screen leaves a band black and unused.

    Can someone help me please?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Can you please check under display properties > settings > advanced > monitor, is there possibility to activate the option Hide modes that this monitor cannot display.

If you want, save your data and reinstall OS with recovery CD. Check if your monitor is working properly and there is black band again.
I ve done the installation of SP2 several times without any problem. It is not a simple to determine what can be wrong with it.

If you reinstall the operating system and there is no black band again, please let me know. I am very interested about your problem.

    Good bye

    Hello

When I bought it was insalled windows vista.
for some reason, I prefer windows xp. so I formatted my laptop, insalled sucesfully xp operating system but there are no drivers.

When I asked the seller why my laptop doesen't have driver CD for his equipment, he told me that I shouldn't be this becouse download drivers on the internet is a peace of cake.

Can I get some help here because I thing I do something wrong.
The question is ' t I find no driver in referring to my Satellite A100-784 in the web.

The issue is that I can't find the product atall...
looking forward for your reply because I need to address it quickly. It is for professional use.

    Thanks in advance...

    Hello

The Toshiba driver page offers drivers for Satellite A100 series and not for simple models like A100-784.
Satellite A100-784 seems to be a part of the series PSAANE.
Therefore, look for this number in the form of driver download!

However, I checked this page of the Toshiba driver and found only a driver of sound for this camera!
    But not don t worry!
The A100 series mainly come with the same hardware devices and drivers from other laptops A100 could be compatible and can run on your device.

Take my advice and try to install the unique drivers of different Satellite A100 and Equium A100 series. This can help

    Hi @MDerosia,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your computer laptop of HP ENVY TouchSmart m7-j010dx and needing to run an operating system reinstall. Here is a link to perform a restore using HP Recovery Manager.

If this does not help, you need to use the disks that you created when your laptop was purchased. Here is a linkthat shows you how to get the recovery discs for your laptop.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

I was looking on this forum and I have found several messages describing the same problem.

    Link1

    LINK2

Rather disappointed that no resolusion has been found yet for this issue.

Things that I tried to solve the problem:

    -own insall windows

-drivers installed the DVD and the lenovo Web site

    -Update bios to 44CN43WW

-bios upgrade to 44CN36WW (where it is claimed that this problem has been resolved "fixed the question hanging during installation of operating system Windows 7 non - OEM version.")

-J' called the local lenovo support line and they told me that they are unable to offer help regarding this issue, the only thing they can do is to send the laptop in the warranty.

The problem can be generated by a hardware failure?

    Hello

The laptop came today guarantee (the second trip) and the problem was solved. They had to replace the motherboard, processor and apparently also the battery...

    Kind regards

I need help in the form of simple please...
    Thank you

    Hi Michael6208,

    ·         You get the error message for Windows update?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the section How to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state of the link to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    (a) click Start, run.

    (b) type msconfigand click OK.

    (c) the System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    (d) click the general tab, click Normal startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

    (e) when you are prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.

Method 2: For windows, update problem, disable the security software temporarily.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable the antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network at the time the anti-virus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 3: You can also manually install updates (KB number) by downloading from the Microsoft Download Center.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx

Method 4: Follow the steps in the article to reset the Windows Update components.

  • Rapid Storage Technology

    Hi guys,.

I have a question on fast storage technology.  I have a XPS 8700 which I am very happy with I 10 insalled windows and no major problems with it, but after the 1511 updated the PC began to complain that the historical file player had been disconnected for too long, because I was resetting I realized that the reader that he had received to was D: the SSD of 32 GB. In all historical case of the files has now stopped whining, but I started to wonder why he was using the SSD.

When the investigation through Google, I got the distinct impression that if Rapid Storage Technology worked properly the SSD is not available for general use. The Rapid Storage Technology console says his job very well... but is it?  I can access and write to the SSD and the discs seem to be set up as SATA.

If she works really well... I was under the impression that Rapid Storage Technology worked than on RAID set up so is "fine" work but not as expected... the SSD shouldn't be, off limits... something just does not ring true to me here.

Any advice / explanation would be great.

    A little confused

    Steve

    Hi people,

It seems I was right... Technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology worked as expected, he was not speeding anything. My SSD played the role of a simple hard drive.

I now put in place for max acceleration and all right.

You can get it probably installed using compatibility mode, but if it's worth or not is an opinion.
