Re-install after a count of crash of hard disk to 3 installs the family pack?

I had to re - install Windows 7 on a laptop after the hard drive crashed. Isn't this considered as 1 of my 3 installs helped with the family pack, even if it has already been installed on the same computer?

Yes, there is only one of the three, sometimes settles However even if you did not have a car accident 3 install may require activation of the phone, but for the moment its only 1 of 3.

My computer crashed by a virus. I removed the hard drive, hooked to my Windows 7 computer and formatted the hard drive. I tried for days now all possible variations in the installation menu and it fails every time! Urgh! Very frustrating!

The disc was sent to me by Microsoft a couple of years with a product key. How can I make this work? Please...!

I was on it for a week now. I tried all the bloody configurations that I could think of!

I'll try what you suggested for the tenth time now - it fails every time! I find myself with a message in the upper left corner of the screen: white all type of small letters on a black screen: "no partiton bootable in the table" - no "partition", but "partiton. Just before comes up and locks the computer I see a flash of blue screen that tries to restart the computer. The Bios can be damaged by a virus? If so - how can fix this?

Too bad... Thanks for the reply, Walter. You made me think in a different direction, that is to say, I realized that the virus was in the CMOS. So I simply removed the battery and moved the RTC Ram rider to clear the clock, so to speak. Boom! It worked! Computer has started in the setup of Vista no probs... 1 million thank - you.

Vista/xp have already installed software to transfer the BONES of one HD to another, if youre pc is

  • Satellite P300 - recovery after bad crash of HARD disk

    Hello

I have this Stellite-P300 - 1 H 8, who has had a bad HARD drive crash a few days ago.
The primary partition of the 'system' has achieved so badly that my office he detected in RAW, no NTFS format.
I bought a new HARD drive and managed to clone the content (some sectors were defective), now I have two options at startup:
-Start windows the normal way, which ends with a reboot!
-Recover, ending with a nice dialog telling me the recovery program could not start...
I feel stuck and I would like to continue to use the original copy of Vista that is on the hard disk, what can I do?
    TIA

    Hi Sergey

I presume you didn't create recovery DVDs, right?
This disc you can install original Vista again.

If nothing helps, you can order it on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx but I recommend you to install Win7. I did this on the P300 brothers and it works perfectly on this machine.

  • Install XP on a laptop computer without hard disk

I have some difficulty installing XP on my portege 2010 that have now Linux installed. I have an external USB - dvd - disk, however, the BIOS does not boot USB. I don't want to buy a usb floppy drive or pcmcia reader. So it seems to me the solutions left installation via the net (pxe boot), which is almost impossible in Windows and to initiate a drive hard pcmcia. The latter seems interesting, however, it is difficult to find information on this. Someone at - it starts all experience in this way? Or am I missing some easier way? Any help appreciated.

    Marcus

    Hi Marcus,

try pressing F12 or ESC at startup to enter the boot menu, and then select USB. If this does not work, change the boot priority in the BIOS. IF she's not even boot from the CD, check the Linux DVD player.

  • Install XP: Setup did not find any hard disk installed

I have this old computer. When I try to install Windows Xp, it says that Setup did not find any hard disk. I have readers of diskette and cd on the computer. A source told me that I need a SATA RAID driver until I do.

    Windows XP
    AMIBIOS
    MSI

Correct, you will need to download the appropriate TXTmode drivers and put them on a floppy disk. If you have a MSI motherboard in your system, you will get these drivers from MSI.

It would be also possible to get Windows to load with a change in your BIOS settings, but I recommend that get you the correct drivers.

  • Windows cannot be installed after replacement Toshiba HDD

I installed Windows 7 (and Windows XP) on my laptop A42F, another manufacturer, using a DVD without problem and was used for about 18 months.

Last week TOSHIBA MQ01ABD050 hard drive has failed and it turns out the disc has been damaged.

I managed to save most of my data and the hard drive has been replaced by a NEW and similar (TOSHIBA MQ01ABD050) hard disk.

Using the same DVD as the previous time I can't install windows more. I also tried other CD and DVD that worked before on other PCs and this laptop.

I tried to install with or without created partitions.

When booting from a CD / DVD to install Windows, it starts to load files quickly. About 80 percent, it slows down a lot and finally a page with a message (the note below is not the EXACT text):
Windows has encountered a problem during communication with a device
    .........
    ... contact the hardware manufacturer
    Status: 0xc00000e9
    Information: unexpected IO error

It is possible to boot from the CD and run MiniXp (or linux) and write about your new TOSHIBA MQ01ABD050 hard drive.

    My questions:
    (a) any suggestion plausible why I can't install?
    (b) has anyone seen this before?
    (c) what can I do to solve the problem?

    Any help will be appreciated

    Hi Jack

I think it's a bad place to ask for help, even if you have replaced the HARD precedent with the Toshiba HDD drive.
For me, it is not a HARD drive problem.

In my view if s notebook BIOS recognizes the HARD drive correctly, then you should be able to install the system on this new HARD drive. But according to your material, some additional drivers (perhaps the drivers SATA) would be necessary, but it should be clarified with the support of laptop manufacturer.

I think you should get in touch with the manufacturer for laptop support in order to get more details on possible solutions

Please note that the family pack is an upgrade.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

  • Is it possible to install Windows 7 on external HARD disk

    That is the problem.

A friend with a Toshiba laptop (do not know the model right, but probably with win7 - 6 month old machine) has a problem with the internal hard drive.
He crashed and his does not work.

It has the toshiba recovery CD and an external hard drive.
Is it possible for him to install win 7 on the external hard drive?

(the easy medium woyld be buying a new in-house but for the next 2 months because of his work that it is impossible).

    Hello

I don t think that it would be possible to install the Windows 7 external HARD disk.
You should replace the internal HARD disk and should put the new HARD drive in the laptop.
Then you should be able to install Windows 7 on the new HARD disc.

    Good luck

  • How to get Windows XP in case of hard disk crash

Hi, recently my hard drive got crashed and I lost my original Windows XP that came with my laptop pre-installed. I still have the key of Windows XP with me and I'm the only owner. Is their anyway to get it from Microsoft without any extra cost. Please let me know at * address email is removed from the privacy *.

on laptops, operating system installation files are located on the hard disk, in a hidden place.

These installation files can be launched / executed via a procedure known as 'factory restore '.

a factory restore is then wipe the hard drive and install a fresh copy of the operating system of the manufacturer.

Depending on the type of 'crash' you committed, you might be able to run a factory restore, but you will lose all your personal files too in the process.

If the hard disk is still inside the laptop, then go into your mobile home site and look for the model number for instructions on performing a factory restore.

either way, a hard drive crash is subjective interpretation.

You may be able to fix it if you can borrow and xp cd from someone "or" via a startup disk that you can do on the internet.

However, you will need to provide more information on your "crash."
