  • HP210 G1 Notebook: updates of Windows 8

I recently bought a laptop computer to the G1 HP210 with Windows 8.1 installed. The problem is that when I try to install all Windows updates to update the system, sometimes 30%, restarts and then immediately freezes and goes to a black screen. I can only restart when entering the system recovery and return to a previous restore point. I tried after a clean boot without success. By process of elimination, it seems be updated no 2919442 which is around 900 MB in size, which is the problem. Anyone have any ideas?

I managed to solve the problem at last. When I checked the HP support, there was an update to download BIOS and after installing it, I managed to install all of the wait Windows updates successfully.

    Hi Robin,

I'm sorry to know that you are facing this problem.

You can run the SFC scannow tool and restart the computer to see if the problem still occurs. SFC/scannow is a very useful command that you can use in any version of Windows. When the SFC (System File Checker) command is used with the/scannow switch, the tool analyzes all the important files of Windows on your computer and replace if necessary. Missing and the corruption of the operating system (like many DLLs) files are probably the main cause of the major problems of Windows.

See the following steps to perform a scan SFC:

    (a) press the Windows key + X, select the prompt (Admin) to bring up the elevated command prompt.

    (b) in the command prompt, type the following command: sfc/scannow then press ENTER.

    (c) after the scan, restart the computer and check if the problem persists.

Once the scan is finished, restart the computer and make sure that the computer is up-to-date with the latest Windows updates.

  • How to control the Windows updates are installed on the Windows Surface of RT

I recently had to perform a refresh to solve the problem with desktop on the desktop icons that appear as spaces. After the update, I had to reinstall the update for Office 2013. When I went to Windows Update to do this, I found it with a group of 9 other updates, these 9 were all marked as ready for download and installation, Office 2013 update is not checked. I disabled the office 2013 update and not the other 9 updates, thinking that I could make those after I had Office installed upgrading so I would like to know if my taskbar icon problem has been resolved. At the bottom of the screen even when the Office update was the only update checked I chose to install updates. The Surface actually installed all updates, not only the update of Office.

Is there a way to control which Windows updates are installed in fact at some point? Unchecking them made no difference.

    Nice day
I use 360 total security Anti virus. According to the security system in my anti virus, he found need to updates in my computer. And I'm not sure if I really need to put up-to-date or not necessary. Thanks in advance. :)

    Hello Jireh,

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

Thank you for details on the issue.

Windows Update includes important and optional updates. Update Windows automatically installs important updates as they become available. You can also set Windows update to automatically install recommended updates, or to let you know that they are available. You can also choose to turn on Microsoft update, which provides updates for other Microsoft products. Optional updates, such as updates from Microsoft update and language packs are not installed automatically.

I suggest you to install all important and optional updates available and check if it helps.

I have an SSD of 24GO on which I have installed Windows 8, but the problem is that the drive is not large enough for its updates, so I was wondering how to change Windows update record the location of the file on another hard drive?

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

According to the description, I understand that you want to change the update of Windows save the location of the file on another hard drive.

I wish to inform you that there is no option to have Windows Update files to a location other than the system files. It is necessary to have Windows Update files to be saved on the same drive and the same partition as the operating system.

However, as you have limited space on your SSD, you can choose to disable the automatic updates of Windows and install only those who are well kept.

You can follow the steps described in the article below to turn off the automatic updates of Windows or to manage the way that Windows provides and installs available updates on your computer.

  • I get 80244o1c error after updated windows update

I recently used the reformat windows 8 setting, "all remove and reinstall windows.

I have had no problems or issues with the process until I've decided to use windows update to install the necessary updates.

Update Windows prompted me to upgrade to the latest version. I then downloaded and installed the update and it told me that windows update will automatically close and open again. After the update I went and go to check updates. I filled the boxes updates, I want to install the first. I have install updated partially because I don't have the best internet speed to download all updates at once. But after installing the updates I get only error 8024401c. I tried to use the Troubleshoot utility and restart the computer when you are finished, but I still get the error. I tried all of the solutions in this link http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-windows_update/windows-update-error-code-8024401c/f8b9dc5f-a512-4e74-b41c-d357ca40f9f7. But still nothing.

    Help, please.

    3. What happened when you performed the reset and restore? Do you have an error code or message?

I suggest you to please provide us with the number of the last update that you have installed on your computer.

See the link given below to find the number of the update through view update history. Please refer to the appropriate section (how can I find out what updates have been installed).

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/Windows-Update-FAQ

    Try the methods.

Open Windows Update by hitting on any fly in the right edge of the screen (or, if you are using a mouse, pointing to the corner bottom right of the screen, move the mouse upward), tapping or clicking on settings, tapping or clicking change PC settingsand then by typing or clicking on update and recovery.

    2. Press or click Choose how to install the updates.
