Re: Satellite A-C55-N10 - rubber missing foot

I brought this laptop less than a month ago on April 14, 2014, and one of the rubber feet had fallen.
I sent Toshiba with the problem that advised me to contact "Topaz".
"Topaz", said that they could sell me a foot to £12.50 plus p & p.
Laptops not even a month!
So I called Toshiba and they said "the foot is not covered by the warranty.

YOU'RE KIDDING!

THIS LAPTOP IS LESS THAN A MONTH. PART FELL AND TOSHIBA SAY THAT THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE!

CALL THIS CUSTOMER SERVICE? IT OF A SHAME.

Unless I get something as simple as a rubber replacement sent by mail I WILL NEVER BY AN ANOTHER TOSHIBA PRODUCT!

It's really stupid situation now. I use laptops for almost 15 years and my most old laptop was 8 years old. To be honest I've never noticed this problem on my machines.

Anyway, there is no reason to believe you when you say that one of the rubber feet had fallen. Problem, it is difficult to explain that this can happen without reason because these parts are glued and pretty well fixed on the plastic cover, so I can imagine that service think he is kidnapped with some force.

I really put t know about it. Try it please communicate with some other Toshiba ASP and talk with them. Don t be angry and arrogant. Please, explain the situation, and maybe there's a way to get it free.

I recently bought a Satellite Pro C55-A-1N1 and I'm slowly getting used to Windows 8.1.

As a long-term Firefox user, I downloaded the last, but I find very strange mouse behavior.

When I scroll to the bottom of my list of bookmarks, the Synaptics touchpad seems to select several bookmarks all on its own. If I move my mouse away from the bookmark list, the items get selected.

If I plug the external mouse, the same thing happens.

I think not not be selected until I click on the Mouse/touchpad button, the items. Is there a setting somewhere that will avoid this strange multiple automatic selection?

Pad touch various parameters found in:

I am back with another problem.
I ordered a Toshiba Recovery arrived ok.
I inserted in the drive and follow the instructions.
    Everything is fine but when he got to the F = u = \HDDRecovery\SWImg \ZZImg\11675XSP5_swm copy (5/8)
    He said 0 file copied
ERROR = copy of splitpart or CRC failed
    Press a key to continue.
I pressed a button and the screen went white.

Now when I try to start, I get a message:
    BOOTMGR is missing
Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart
whenever I do this, I get the same message.

Any thoughts on what to do next?

Check my answer to your first thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/message.jspa?MessageID=248800

BOOTMNG is missing error is displayed because the installation of the OS was not successful.

Try to boot from the recovery disc once more, perhaps you will be able to install the operating system.
If this isn't the case, you must check if the HARD drive is OK. For this, you can use a tool called Drive Fitness Test. This s free software which would test the HARD drive.

If the HARD drive is ok and you still can't install the OS by using the new recovery disc, then it means the recovery disk is defective. In this case, you will need to replace this drive.

  • Satellite A-C55-1MW - get rid of malware

I just bought a C55 - 1MW Satellite. Since the first commissioning, I've been tormented by malware (not the annoying apps that come with Windows 8.1). They keep popping up everywhere, regardless if I use IE, Mozilla or Chrome. A program called V9 or something is particularly annoying, and I can't get rid of it, after trying 3 different antivirus programs and malware.

Who has had the idea to start selling Toshiba laptops with preinstalled virus? I don't think it's a good market strategy... And how, in the #& % #& ¤ can I get this computer to work normally?

Oh, wow! Find it me hard to believe that your laptop came pre-installed with virus or malware.
Have you tried resetting your entire computer - SAVE YOUR DATA first don't connect to the internet, do not install software, etc. Run your new installation - you keep having programms arise?

  • Satellite A-C55-1N1 - how to fix Windows 8.1 after trying Linux?

    Hello

    Laptop: Satellite C55-A-1N1

In my infinite wisdom, I tried to install Linux in dual boot as my old laptop scenario. I have narrowed the main partition of windows in windows 8.1 first and then installed linux on this partition. After the reboot, Linux worked, but not windows, because I had to disable the secure boot and set bios to the CSM for linux to load.

After turning on and bios secure boot to EFI, windows boot more. I tried to repair the windows operating system by running the repair of another DVD of Win8.1 tools, but they do not have repair startup. I learned eventually to zero to start takes you to the... except hidden restore partition my not!

So, I checked the windows and the recovery partitions are intact but I can't access the recovery partition or repair the windows installation with windows 8.1 repair tools. No, I have not all backups, other images or system restore options. Clever, aren't I? I don't have the original recovery partition (which I can't access) and the windows partition to play with. I don't want to lose my license OEM Windows 8.1...

Any ideas how to save this installation of windows?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You have made the same mistake as many other people. On this forum, we discussed many times how it works and tried to explain how it works.

In s manuals are described clearly that each owner of the laptop must create a recovery (DVD or USB) media and this created recovery media can be used for recovery image installation where this HARD drive recovery option does not work or if the HARD drive is faulty and should be replaced.

As I see that you do not have this recovery media. Is that HARD drive recovery facility can be started if laptop has only factory settings. Your experience of Linux, this option disappeared and there is no way to start it again.

What can you do now? I know it may seem stupid now, but if you want to install original recovery image you need to order new media of recovery and it can be done on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

  • Satellite Pro L20 - typed keys missing

We have about 20 laptops, Satellite PRO L20 (model No. PSL2YE-00H00EG3), and all have this problem): keyboard missing from time to time a key is pressed. All keys are affected and the question is very worrying, given that you can have a miss every 20 letters typed.

We have tried to update the BIOS to version 1.5 to version 1.8, but we had no success.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you
    Bogdan

    Hello

You said that this problem occurs from time to time. In this case, it would be possible that some 3rd applications have a bad influence on this keyboard as described in this announcement.
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=9494&TSTART=30

You also suggested that you tried to upgrade the BIOS. Did you, or was it just a tent?

  • Satellite Pro 4300: error - NTLDR missing

    Hi all

I have an old Satellite Pro 4360, P3 700 mhz.
I'm trying to upgrade the Bios to install Ubuntu Linux.

However, by following the instructions on the download of Toshiba Bios, IE change the boot sequence for the floppy drive with the disc in the drive that contains the update files, I can't update and just got the message:

    NTLDR missing

    Someone help with this?

Also, when I try to run the live CD, after changing the boot sequence in the CD-ROM, I get no response and the computer continues to boot from the disk with Windows 2000 Pro?

    Someone help with this?

    Hello

"NTLDR is missing" usually means that the "NT Loader" of an operating system with the kernel NT or NT-technology cannot start the operating system. (Such system NT could be Win NT, Win XP or Win 200o)

But it s strange when a drive reports an error message. What was on the disk before? Was the drive some disk before starting? If so, then proceed as follows:

Format the drive in Windows 2000 with the option to make a disk and copy the files from the BIOS on this subject. Then boot from the disk and update your BIOS. Ususally it should work.

Please give a few comments if you managed...

    Welcome them

Just bought a computer portable satellite c55-5-137 and when I start the computer shows this message: no boot device - please reboot the system.
Tried to boot from usb win7, same message. Also in bios I don't have the option to disable secure boot, the only option is uefi (grayed out). Need help .

I assume that the HARD drive is not visible somehow for your system.
When you enter the BIOS disk HARD is listed and detected correctly?
Try to set the BIOS to default settings and check again.

Also off-topic (sorry) - there is no way I can connect laptop with TV (KDL - 32 p 2520) with HDMI: laptop recognizes it, but there is no picture on the TV (I tried splitscreen, duplicate and extend the screen)

    Thanks for any help

    Hi, vex

Each laptop comes with preinstalled operating system must have installed all the drivers for all hardware components. Did you found a problem in the Device Manager or what?

HDMI problem: according to TV specification, it must have two HDMI ports. Please make sure that you have enabled the right port on your TV.

One last thing: don't forget to create a recovery media using preinstalled Toshiba recovery media creator tool. Mage recovery relief is very important if something goes wrong with preinstalled OS or HARD drive.

  • Satellite A-C55-1HC CPU Upgrade

I have a laptop of c55-a-1hc satellite with an i3 - 3110 m and I think to be upgraded to an i7-3632QM which is compatible with the G2 Socket / rPGA988B as can be seen here:
    http://www.CPU-world.com/Sockets/SOC...GA988B%29.html

My question is: will it work and run ok?
What I have to change anything else beside the cpu?

    My machine specifications are:

I think that no one will be able to tell if your laptop work properly after these updates...
The fact is that these improvements are not officially supported by one of the manufacturers of portable... Upgrading CPU is at your own risk and in the worst case the notebook will not using new CPU...

As far as I know the chipset, as well as the BIOS must support the new CPU in order to work properly... so even if the motherboard / chipset would support the new processor, it is still pending on the BIOS...

  • Satellite A-C55-1R8 - interference of Touchpad problem

I have the Satellite C55-A-1R8, using Windows 8.1.
The Synaptics touchpad has always given unpredictable results, some setings I have used or cancelled.

For example, he suddenly loses the ability to receive a double-tap, even if the icon still has ' tap to click on "checked. When I click it, the cursor flies in the upper right of the screen and is difficult to control again.

However, the buttons continue to operate normally, but if I sleep or Hibernate the computer things are normal again immediately, he wakes up.
Also, the key often picks up and moves the icons and files without double click. I installed the latest Synaptics driver update, but no change.

However, I said that the treatment of the files on this model are so thin that the fingers to rest above and below the keyboard can interfere with touchpad controls and begin to suspect that it is maybe the reason some of the strange behavior.

If this is the case, can I isolate it with almost anything to avoid this problem?

Have you tried to reduce the sensitivity of the mouse?

Since when have you noticed such behavior strange touchpad? Since the first may day?

I don't think it's the best solution for you, but maybe you should reinstall the operating system using the original recovery image and it test the functionality of the touchpad with the 'settings '.
If the problem persists it could be some hardware related issue so you can contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.
