I am back with another problem.
I ordered a Toshiba Recovery arrived ok.
I inserted in the drive and follow the instructions.
Everything is fine but when he got to the F = u = \HDDRecovery\SWImg \ZZImg\11675XSP5_swm copy (5/8)
He said 0 file copied
ERROR = copy of splitpart or CRC failed
Press a key to continue.
I pressed a button and the screen went white.

Now when I try to start, I get a message:
BOOTMGR is missing
Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart
whenever I do this, I get the same message.

Any thoughts on what to do next?

Check my answer to your first thread:

BOOTMNG is missing error is displayed because the installation of the OS was not successful.

Try to boot from the recovery disc once more, perhaps you will be able to install the operating system.
If this isn't the case, you must check if the HARD drive is OK. For this, you can use a tool called Drive Fitness Test. This s free software which would test the HARD drive.

If the HARD drive is ok and you still can't install the OS by using the new recovery disc, then it means the recovery disk is defective. In this case, you will need to replace this drive.

It s your fault if you didn't create a clean recovery disk.

On the Toshiba laptop, you will find a Toshiba Recovery disk creator tool that allows you to create the own recovery disk.
But if you are not able to boot into the OS, so you cannot create this disc.

    Check if you can start the recovery of HARD drive option;
You must press F8 immediately after the laptop by pressing the power button.
Then, you should get a menu and should choose the first option called fix my computer.

But if this menu does not appear, then you will not be able to start the HARD drive recovery and that means you must order a recovery disc to make it work again.

  • Satellite Pro C650 - BOOTMGR is missing

    Hey guys,.

I bought this laptop about a week ago, and he's already giving me grief.

First, it started with BSOD nonstop with various errors, for example driver_irql_less_or_not_equal and system_service_exception being the most repeated of the two.

I've updated all the drivers, I have between the BSOD - but gave up and decided to just a new reinstall due to not having anything important saved on the HARD drive at the moment.

Install went fine - until just before that initial installation was complete - BSOD happens again with a BIOS error this time.

After the reboot of the machine - I get BOOTMGR is missing, press CTRL + ALT + DELETE to restart.

Restart, brings you to an endless loop.

Entered boot options and booted from the CD player with the recovery disk, when the windows startup repair claims the problem is resolved and the machine will reboot.

Once it restarted (AGAIN) I always get that BOOTMGR is missing, press CTRL + ALT + DEL to restart error.

The start I tried again - CD player, but it stalls three quarters the way through.

I am literally pulling my hair out frustrated now - any ideas what I can do from here?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

In my logic one step for you opinion is clean OS installation again.

Please make and wait until the installation of the OS will be complete. Configure the operating system and try to use it for awhile without installing any additional software. Install Microsoft updates only. Please disable the automatic installation of update and choose the option check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them.

When the updates are available to install important updates only. Do not install the optional updates, especially not driver updates.

Please send any comments that you did exactly.

People told me that I can download an OEM legally and use the product key on the computer laptop auto.

Now my question someone knows how to fix this?
or someone knows more about the OEM?

I hope hear from you soon.

    > People told me that I can download an OEM legally and use the product key on the computer laptop auto.
No, all I know is not possible. The serial number at the bottom of the device belongs to the preinstalled Windows 7 and can not be used with other versions of Windows 7.

    > Now my question someone knows how to fix this?
Well, the Boot Manager is required to start the operating system. If Boot Manager is damaged the operating system cannot be started, even if Windows is installed.
So either you can repair the BMR or you install the operating system once more.

To repair the BMR, you need the original CD of Windows 7 (or Vista). You cannot use the recovery disk to repair the OS because the Toshiba Recovery disk format the whole HARD drive and installs the whole image. So, you need the Microsoft disk.

Alternatively, you can set the laptop back to factory settings by using the recovery disk and the recovery disc can be ordered here:

This means that you have created the use Toshiba recovery media creator Toshiba Recovery disk or what did you do exactly?

This bootmgr error message means that the Windows Boot Manager is corrupt and that's why you need to reinstall Windows. You can do this with Toshiba Recovery disk which can restore the original settings of the case.

All you have to do is boot from the recovery disk and follow the instructions on the screen. All drivers and tools will be installed automatically.

    Hello

The bootmgr is missing + error because s Vista Boot Manager is found on the HARD disk.
The boot manager could be a shame because of a few problems with your HARD disk.
The part of the error message reads:
    > Problem Signature 06: BadDisk

It is clear that there is a BadDisk and that's why I come to the conclusion that your HARD drive should malfunctions.

I found your other thread that describes a problem of HARD drive:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/message.jspa?MessageID=141608

Well, I think you need to replace the HARD drive and then must use the Toshiba Recovery disk to reinstall the operating system.

  • Satellite C660 - 10 d - Bootmgr is missing

    Hello

I bought a Toshiba Satellite C660 - 10 d for my birthday in August and was a little disappointed to find that it did not include the Windows 7 disc - instead, I found a "Recovery" partition to use if there is a problem. Another disappointment was to find the 500 GB hard drive, I thought I was getting was actually about 360 GB - him remains apparently partitioned for "recovery."

After a few months use, I decided to check the recovery option and found it was inaccessible (press F8 at startup just didn't work). Scouting around the ' net has found another option (I think it was something like ESC at boot 0 upwards), but that no longer works.

I should have taken this "thing" back at the shop at the time, but it was a mile 10 return and an injury prevented me from driving. In any case, I decided to make my own backup with Acronis (which has been a life saver on my desktop PC).

Main installation takes 3 DvDs and the "Recovery" partition went on another DvD. In hindsight, I should have backed up to a spare USB hard drive - it would have been faster.

In any case, law of Sod, a few months later and I had to do a reinstall from the Acronis backup and, while everything seemed to install OK, now I just get the dreaded message BOOTMGR IS MISSING. Scanning of the hard drive shows that the installation of Windows is there, but it does not start.

Scouting around the ' net came only upward with suggestions that involved using the installation disk that I had not been given. I don't understand the logic of backup 20 p for a DvD disc, containing a 140Gb (HSI) of a hard disk instead.

I tried various other suggestions to fix the MBR (including the FDISK. EXE/MBR) but nothing works. I even borrowed Win7 and Vista set install disks to friends, look for the file "bootrec.exe" illusory the claim of Microsoft would solve the problem, but it does not appear to be. I've skimmed through various assignments here, but nothing seems to fit my situation.

Any help anyone can offer would be much appreciated.

    Thank you
    Harry

P.S. at the suggestion of a friend I just installed Ubuntu Linux and that works OK! Why is it working OK and not my backup Windows?

    > I bought a Toshiba Satellite C660 - 10 d for my birthday in August and was a little disappointed to find that it did not include the Windows 7 disc - instead, I found a "Recovery" partition to use if there is a problem

The user manual provides information that you can create own recovery disk using the preinstalled software called Toshiba recover Media Creator. So apart from HARD drive recovery, then recovery disc could be used too.

If its always recommended to create a pick it up Toshiba drive in case something bad would happen to the recovery of HARD drive or the HARD drive itself

Bootmgr is missing could be solved by the new facility.
Wither away if you use a floppy from Win 7 Microsoft and would install the drivers that can be downloaded from the page of European driver of Toshiba or you will here order the recovery disk:

    http://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

I know it s not expensive: about 30

  • Satellite L510 - BOOTMGR is missing

    * sigh *.

So I got my password solved error and managed to get on the Vista desktop for the first time.
Well, he ran incredibly slow (like 45 minutes at startup). So I think that maybe something is corrupted so maybe I should just go ahead and reinstall everything from scratch.

So, I hold the F8 key at startup, go into System Recovery Options and choose to do a restore complete system, back to the factory settings.
2 minutes, I get an application error. The app makes me restart.

Now I'm stuck with "BOOTMGR is missing" A + C + D to turn it back on to get to the same point.

All I can find online is advice to enter the Installation of Vista disc. But I don't have one of those, I?

    * sigh *.

This whole process would have been a million times easier if Toshiba had indeed issued an installation with the system disk.

Anyone know how to get into WinRE on a Toshiba Sattelite?

    Hello

You didn t get the Vista disc and the Toshiba recovery disc.
Your laptop has been pre-installed with the Vista operating system and there was an option that allows you to recovery unit using the option of HARD drive recovery
There was also a preinstalled tool called creator Toshiba recovery disc.
This tool could be used to create a clean recovery disk.

But the fact is that if you want to repair the Vista Boot Manager, so you should use ONLY the MS Vista original disc and not the recovery disc.
MS Vista disc would repair the Boot Manager and the recovery disk would be to format the whole HARD drive and reinstall everything again

    That's the big difference.
