Re: Satellite C660-1CH - device wireless problem

Hello guys

I just got my Toshiba Satellite C660 and I have the problem with the wireless device I can't access it. When I press FN + F8 nothing happened. I downloaded from http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/?page=downloads Atheros Wireless LAN Adapter - windows 7 x 64, but it does not work.

NOTE: I have problem with blutooth device also.

Hi Wolvrine,

Exactly, what problem you have with your wireless network card? It is disabled and if you try to activate using the FN + F8 key combination? Or you have another problem?
Did you test if other FN keys work correctly?

On other threads, I realized the C660 owners are disabled the Windows power management feature and it worked WLAN energy saving. Maybe it s works for you also.

    Hey,.

I agree with BobRock_1. All the drivers and tools that you can find on the official website of Toshiba. Your model is compatible with Windows XP. :-)

But before starting with the installation of the drivers, I recommend the installation of Service Pack 3 for XP. It contains many security updates and also two patches for the sound card you need. Otherwise, you are not able to install audio driver properly.

You can download SP3 from Microsoft's official website. The installation is no problem, everything is done automatically. :)

  • Satellite C660 - no card wireless network in Device Manager

I had a Satellite C660 for months with a preinstalled operating system.
I've never had a problem with my wireless until recent days.

I checked Device Manager and it seems that the wireless card is missing,
I tried reinstalling the drivers but it stops immediately after extraction.

I did a full scan and found nothing, I am at a loss,

Thanks in advance for your help,

    Andy.

    Hello

You see yellow exclamation points or unknown devices in Device Manager?
These devices will appear if the driver is not installed correctly.

Otherwise, it might be possible that Wlan module is dead.

  • Re: Satellite C660-115 very strange problems Wifi!

I've been busy with a problem on a C660-115 wireless, always without success.

    Satellite C660-115
    Windows 7 - 64 bit

    The case:
-Laptop is connected to the power supply: Wifi works fine, no problem
-Laptop power supply disconnected: Wifi does not work, although there sometimes seems to be a link with the router access point/wifi.
    No internet/network communication
-Laptop computer connected to power--> wifi works, unplug the power--> after a 1/2 minute or two, no internet connection...

I tried to find a new driver, but we already use it the latest version.
Then I turned off the feature "this computer can switch of this device to save power", without success.

    Ideas anyone?

I don't have many problems with the exception of two system devices to identify:

    > Chicori USB 2.0 Webcam (integrated) HW ID: USB\VID_04F2 & PID_B1D6 & REV_2613 & MI_00

All essential information on this device are already mentioned.
It's webcam Chicony device it's the internal webcam and you must install the webcam software!

    > Peripheral Unkwnown (ACPI, I guess, the system of said cause my laptop battery is down) ID HW ACPI\TOS6205
The other the acpi\tos6205 seems to be Bluetooth!

The laptop seems to support the BROADCOM 802.11 card BCM94313 WLan (B/G/N).
It is the WIFI and Bluetooth combo card!
This means that you have first installed the Broadcom WLan driver, then filter Broadcom BT and Toshiba BT stack

  • Satellite C660-223 - system caution: "" problem with cooling detected system "".

When I carry my Satellite C660-223 somewhere for example wear at home to College in a protective case in my backpack, I sometimes get a window warning flashing upward every 20 seconds or so said system + "warning: a problem with the cooling system has been detected." Please turn the computer off immediately and return it for service. +

This only happens when I transported somewhere and as a first step, that these warnings system flashed only sometimes upwards after I hauled somewhere, but in the last two years, he started to get pretty much whenever I took the laptop somehwere. When the system warnings blink until the computer doesn't feel a little warmer than normal. no danger of overheating, immediately.

I didn't fix it because the problem seems to resolve itself the next time that I carried the computer somewhere. It's a very strange problem where the short-term solution was the same as the cause: as in I would take the laptop somewhere, the warning system flash upwards and I learned that take "for a walk" would fix somehow everything which was the 'problem '. I solved the problem in this way too often so he could be a coincidence.

So for a while it wasn't really a problem because I just didn't take the laptop anywhere. But the warning system has recently start flashing to the top if I wear just the laptop on the floor, and the warning system does not disappear with my method incredibly non-tech-savvy to "go for a walk", which I am sure many here would give something to laugh :).

The obvious answer is that I need to get the service pronto thing, but I'm in the middle of final exams and the situation of tech in my house means I can't leave the laptop away for service for who knows how long when I really need to study.

Responses, I'm hoping to get are ideas as to what actually caused this problem and short-term solutions that are a little better informed that my approach "going for a walk".

I think THAT what is, is that the movement to carry your laptop around in a backpack something within the done cooling system moving out of place causing the evil TI work. I say this because, while writing this thread I was turn the laptop over and over again to get a look at the stickers on the back and the practice that seems to have "solved" the problem of warning system because this window flashes up while he was only a few minutes ago.

It seems so that all component moved his place before been moved back again by the movement to turn the laptop over and over. And I was not even take him for a walk!

    Any help? Thanks in advance.

    Hello

This notification may appear for different reasons.
The alert might appear due to
    (1) cooling system malfunction
    (2) blocked cooling vents or fans
    (3) software question (VAP - added value package or BIOS)

Malfunction of the cooling system, you should contact the service agents at the difficulty.

In case of a blocked vent and fans it s enough to clean the parts using a jet of compressed air.
This allows to get rid of dust inside the cooling module.

If the vents are not blocked and you still see this message, check the application of the service station for updates on your computer. If any are found, download and install.
You can try to uninstall or update the Toshiba value added Package. This package contains a few essential tools and utilities that control the cooling system too.
    Also check BIOS update.

But if you continue to receive this error, your laptop may require repair

  • Re: Satellite C660 - 1 CL-wireless button do not work running 8.1 Win

    Hello

my wireless button does not work. I have windows installed 8.1,
I have vap and installed flash cards and still does not.

    Any suggestion?

As much as I know the Satellite C660 can't win 8.1
This means that the drivers and Toshiba tools are not released to win 8.1.
I think you can use Win 8.1 but be aware that there is no guarantee that you can use all the features of the special specifications.

    > I have vap and installed flash cards and still does not.
I doubt that this is correct since VAP don t exist to win 8.1
Toshiba system driver is the successor of the VAP in case you use Win 8.1

However, try to install the driver of Toshiba and Toshiba function Key Utility system to win 8.1
You can download this software that has been released for other series like Sat C870 for example.

  • Satellite C660 - 1 MM-wireless network adapter is very slow

    Hello!

    I bought a Satellite C660 - 1 MM and I have 2 problems.

The first is that there is no C660 notebook - 1 MM on Toshiba sites, but I could find drivers with the PSC1NE thing.

The biggest problem is that the card WIFI (atheros) is very low (or slow). I read that someone has the same problem, but a BIOS update solved this problem. My BIOS version is 1.00 (released in 2010), and I guess that perhaps this cause the WLAN problem. I tried to update the BIOS, but the Toshiba site, the latest version of BIOS of PSC1NE is 1.00: o

So now I don't know what to do. I think that it would not be a good idea to update the BIOS with another version of the C660 series but now I can't connect to internet :(

Please help me someone! Thank you for advice!

    Hello

On Toshiba page you can only download BIOS version 1.00 and I don t think that there is a BIOS problem. Otherwise Toshiba unlock a new update for the series PSC1NE so Don t worry.

In your case, I'll try an update of the WLAN driver. You can download the latest WLAN driver on Toshiba WLAN Portal:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

Here in the forum I found some discussions on the issues C660 and WLAN, WLAN driver update worked :)

  • Satellite C660-13R - BIOS update problem

    Hi all

I was updating the BIOS on TOSHIBA SATELLITE C660-13R of 64-bit windows 7. Downloaded driver toshiba web. To halfway the portable installation hangs. I left it for 40 minutes to run, but he did not return to the normal state. As the motherboard fan began to move at high speed, I decided to take out the battery. Result when I power my laptop back I 1 beep from the motherboard and a black screen.

    Can someone help me please?

Of course, the BIOS update procedure has not. Something was wrong during the update process and it seems that the EMRPOM module was not properly flashed.
This is the reason why the laptop is no longer.

    Possible solution?
Well, if EMPROM isn t damage, it should be possible to re-flashing the BIOS module once more, using special version of BIOS and crisis disk BIOS.
Usually the authorized Toshiba maintainer in your country should be able to re-flash of the module using this disc of crisis.

I also read in this forum that some people managed to re-flash EPROM module using some 3rd party crisis disk found somewhere in the internet but it still does not
The ASP will therefore probably be your last resort

However, to use the forums advanced search option to find related discussions on the crisis disk BIOS could be interesting for you

  • Satellite C660 - 2 7 - wireless network card problem or not?

A couple of days, that I dropped my laptop maybe 3-5 inches above the ground and he hit the brick of charger with a small thunk. I have use it again until the next day and since then, internet connection has been patchy, at best, for the most part drops every 3-4 minutes (he always considers it is connected for awhile, but no page doesn't load and Skype shows no connection) and slow when you are connected.

Running the tool to diagnose windows usually resets the wireless network adapter, also tells me reset the router and will often complain of DNS...connectivity/nameservers/something of this type, usually that they one after another, what is the problem is not really clear. This problem only occurs on the floor and everything seems fine down (the router is downstairs, but is not really further and is located next to the open staircase), but as it was only a few days, this could just be lucky and not relevant. Also the internet connection (ISP, BT terrible btw) has been terrible lately in general, have been on the phone to BT about it several times to complain with no improvement (because they have not done anything).

Thus, it + pourrait + just to be the internet connection, I really only has not let down any high rise (it was a landslide while reaching to position it on the ground), he is poor at the moment and reset the router seems to have an effect, but does then reset the wireless network adapter (temporarily) and timing is a bit co accessory. I think that this is probably the Ondaaah just lost, but I'm not an expert or a techie and this is my first windows laptop to... Well, never! And I could be totally off. It is also been connected all the time that I was typing without problem, but I got it with the keyboard tilted up slightly to rest.

Can anyone help? I don't want to get it looked at if nothing is wrong (especially if it's just BT once again, I'm about to give them up for another access provider), but I don't want to leave if it needs fixing and find it does any connect. Even a "Yes, it could be that" or "no, it won't be this" kind of reply would help ^^

    * Edit I ran the Toshiba assist, diagnostic tools and it passed all the tests by default, but he will try next time stops internet connection (probably soon)

    Test it and send feedback.

At least, you can install original recovery image and test the feature with the factory settings.

    Hello

I ve checked specification for your laptop and I can see your laptop was initially offered with Win7 64 bit so I do not understand why you do not use this original version.
You can install the original recovery image and optimize it to your needs.

OK, you may want to have the Ultimate version and your own installation of operating system should not be a problem because all the necessary drivers, tools and utilities that you can download drivers Toshiba download page - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

Of course, that we know not what you have installed and how it looks like when you open Device Manager. All hardware installed and registered correctly?

In any case, I can say, is that all the drivers for Win7 64 bit, tools and utilities are available, and you must install all the.
The right installation order is as follows:
    Windows 7 64 bit
    TOSHIBA Assist
    Chipset SW installation utility
    Intel Management Engine Interface
    Intel driver
    Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver

    Hello

    Your message is not clear
You said that the laptop has been formatted Ok have you installed all the drivers from Toshiba?

You must use the European driver of Toshiba page to download driver.
The laptop seems to belong to the PSU30E. You should choose exactly this model in the form of download number.

But these drivers are only required if you have installed a clean Windows operating system.
If you use the Toshiba Recovery CD/DVDs you n t need the drivers because the image already contains the Toshiba drivers.
