Re: Satellite C660-225 can not find the recovery files

Hello

I have a satellite C660-225 and you want to restore to its original settings by using the zero button. The recovery starts, but the laptop then said it cannot find the files to restore. But they are on the C drive and I made a copy on disk D.

I don't have a recoverydisk. What can I do now?

Thank you in advance,
Plankie

Recovery image is usually original saved on partition D, as well as on some machines on the hidden recovery partition, but certainly not on the C partition.

You cannot move files in recovery from one place to another piece waiting for everything works fine.

In your case installation image of HARD drive recovery not working anymore.
What you can do now is to try to create a recovery media using the method described on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD4103KB0000R01.htm

You'll be really lucky if it will work. Otherwise you can order the original recovery image on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

Good luck

E:\ is the name of the DVD player. I use Verbatim DVD - R blank, I have the laptop on the power during the burning process and I tried twice with two different disks and got the same result. How can I solve this problem?

    Hello Voger

I have created many recovery on several Toshiba laptops DVDs and never noticed anything like that. I used that brands and DVD-R discs were Verbatim or TDK.

Unfortunately I can't answer it what does this message mean, but you should try to repeat the creation of DVD. If possible try with TDK.
If the same thing happens again I recommend you recovery your laptop using recovery of HARD drive option and try to create discs of recovery again.

Sorry, but I don't see any other possibility at the moment.

  • Can not find the downloaded file

I regularly download files, and they will 'always' in the same directory. Now, I downloaded fedora-live-workstation-i686-22-3.iso
of https://getfedora.org/en/workstation/download/and (a) I didn't get the usual "save/open" Download dialog and (b) I can not find the downloaded file. The < downloads - tools > FF screen displays the file as downloaded, but not (AFAICT) where he was placed.

Any clarification would be appreciated. Thank you.

(OP) Well, I downloaded the same file again and this time everything went as it should. For example, some of my 'facts' above must be wrong, but I don't know who. I suspect some personal deficiencies.

  • Satellite A300 - I can't find the recovery disk creator

    Hello world!

Need help with my Satellite A300. I lost the recovery disc optical I burned when the laptop was new. Now when I try to burn a new disc of recovery can't get the Recovery Disc Creator - not on the desktop or in the Start meny. I still have the folder with all the left recovery files - a folder named HDDRecovery with 4.5 GB size. The problem is to know how to burn the disc.

    Can anyone help?

    iMate, Sweden

    Hello!

You have reinstalled the laptop with your own version of Windows?

The problem is that the recovery disc creator can t be downloaded. So I think you use HARD drive recovery function to restore the factory settings. After that, it is perhaps possible to burn the disc of recovery again.

    Good bye

  • Can not find the Dupfinder file.

I have Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3. I also almost 10,000 hidden images, which I think more than 2/3 of them are duplicates. When I try to find the file "Dupfinder", by going to "Run" and typing in "Dupfinder; I can not find this file. I was instructed to download "Windows XP Service Pack 2 Support files", that has the file 'Dupfinder' inside, but I can't access that is. So, what can I do now? Is there any file to search for files duplicated for XP anywhere? I also believe that's what slowed my computer down so much. (I may be wrong here, but it is my belief).

Try this program that will help you find the files duplicated in a manner more detailed, perfect and better-

AUSLOGICS DUPLICATE FILE FINDER (only 5 MB)
This utility will help you more xp.

Since the switch to Photos for Mac, when I double click on a thumbnail to enlarge, a large percentage of my photos have a message that the original file is not found and gives me a chance to find the missing file.

In iPhoto, where migrated most of my photos, I would simply store photos within the program.  As far as I knew, this is where the original file.

    What happened to my photos?

Check preferences: Photos > Preferences > General:

Is the option "Importing > copy items in the photo library ' enabled?  If this isn't the case, you have imported that cited such photos and they are not stored inside the library. Then you must not move or delete photos you've imported. photos will look these photos in their original location.

Look at the Info Panel for the photo and copy the name of the missing file.

Search now with FindAnyFile this file name.

Download Find Any leader here: the trial is free:

FindAnyFile let's you find the files inside library packages where Spotlight will not look.

You will find the missing files in this way?  Where are they?

  • Can not find the .bss files when running

    Hello

I used Eclipse to create an executable Jar of my FX project.
When I try to launch the Jar executable, I see the following exception:
    java.net.MalformedURLException: cannot open InputStream for URL "rsrc:css / myapp.bss".

I looked inside the jar and saw a myapp.css in the css, but not myapp.bss directory.
I read here (http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2.0/deployment/packaging.htm) which says conversion of .css to .bss is optional.

Is it possible to say my app just use the .css file and do not have the .bss file?

  • PC crashed during 6 start Lightroom. Now open habit. Can not find the lock file

    Hello.

My PC stops inexplicably while Lightroom 6 began and then just rebooted. (Windows 7 i7 PC)

Now Lightroom does not start and a "Catalog Adobe" said dialog box could not be opened because another application has already opened it.

A quick search on the internet said the locking file must delete, but I'm not. An Adobe help page shows me:[username]\Pictures\Lightroom\Lightroom 5 Catalog.lrcat.lock C:\Users\

First of all, I'm on LR6 and my start up programs are on a small SSD. So if I navigate on this hard drive, then program file Adobe\Adobe Lightroom I see many files, then a may list files. None gives me a clue to what is a lock file or look like lrcat.lock.

I'm not very savy on a PC and would be grateful of urgent assistance. I tried to uninstall the program and then reinstall, but in vain.

    Thank you very much.

    Hi andys62004617,

lock file is located in the exact location as well as your catalog.

Search under Pictures\Lightroom\ Catalog.lock of Lightroom and delete (do not remove the .lrcat files because it's your main catalog)

  • Satellite P500 (PSPE8U) - can not find the drivers for it

    Hello

I've been and down these forums without success. I watched a lot of forums for the drivers for my P500. I've been through the pages of support sites toshiba of Europe, Uk, Australia and Japan... no chance either. I tried to contact the ebay seller I bought, apparently it is now out of business. It goes without saying that the laptop came without any driver disk. Unfortunately, one of the drives died on me and had no time to do a recovery with all the drivers disk. So now I'm really stuck. Here are the details of the laptop should anyone have brain waves for me-

    P500 - PSPE8U
    Windows Vista 64-bit
    ATI HD 4650

At the time the largest bad head are the video drivers and my battery life is around 30 mins without the toshiba software. The stock of the resolution is a disaster without the correct driver. I tried the ATI46 drivers * from their site, but the application tells me that my hardware is not supported.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you
    Chris

    Hi Chris,

Satellite P500 with model PSPE8U number belongs to the US models and therefore all the drivers and tools that you can find on the Toshiba U.S. page:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com

Just check the underside of your laptop again for the exact model as P500-S1234 number, then you can find the right drivers for your model. :)

  • Satellite A205 S4797 - can not find the drivers for my player

I have recovery disks and the Windows Vista installation disc. When I try to install error meesage says that it cannot find the drivers for my player.
I tried scannong CD player and there are not 32-bit, 64-bit, all them have different drivers and if so where can I get one I need if not from the installation disc or the disc recovery of fab?

If you cannot use original Toshiba recovery DVD for the installation of the OS I can imagine there is a problem with the DVD itself (some missing file or scratches) but the installation of Microsoft Vista SHOULD work on this model of laptop.

If this doesn t work too there must be a problem with the HARD drive. Just if you want to install Windows XP Home edition, you need to load the SATA driver on startup, but Vista should work.

Can you please tell me what happen when you try to install Vista from the facilities of Microsoft Vista DVD?

Hello world! help me cause I don't know who I can apply my probem for! I bought this laptop in Russia - and not a bad model, but I want to change the operating system in the way that I love - so I installed vista, but the note does not work well with it, then I installed Windows XP sp2 home ed, changed in the way I wanted to, but the main problem is that I had to install almost all pilots of myself-

Toshiba modifies his notes in the way that without its own operating system video card, modem card or wifi and sound card do not work! Well, I found all the drivers except for wifi adapter - I almost tried everything but he can't help! wifi card does not work on my note!

could someone help me in this matter?

The laptop was supplied with the mini-PCI Intel 3945ABG card WLan. Am I wrong?
You should look on the Intel page for Wlan drivers for the Vista operating system.
I also found the drivers for my Intel Wlan card on the Web site.

Hi everyone - when I turned on my laptop for the first time, it asked me to set up the Recovery Wizard, but because I did not really know what options to choose, I cancelled the task. I'm yet to find where, on my laptop the Recovery Wizard is, put in place new - can you pleae direct me where to look?

Thank you very much [and remember, novice here, so the instructions profane thanks :)]

    Shell

    Hey Buddy,

If you press the F8 key before Windows starts, you can start the recovery of HARD drive. Choose fix my computer. Some files Windows will be charged and on the next window called system recovery options choose the latest Toshiba HDD Recovery option and follow the instructions on the screen. If you need a further explanation with pictures, see the official document of Toshiba on this procedure:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD1303440001R01.htm

Last but not least, you need to create the recovery disk Toshiba with preinstalled recovery media creator. In which case it would go something wrong you can restore the every time settings factory original and you are on the safe side :)

  • Can not find the downloaded files

I don't know exactly when it started, but suddenly I can't find all the downloaded files.  I get prompted to run or save the file, and then on the progress bar window and the file download, but any place I pick up (or even if I chose to simply run the program), the dialog boxes disappear when the download is complete.  The files are not where I told them to be stored and they are not anywhere else on the computer.  When I choose to run a program, I get a dialog box for that either.  This problem occurs no matter what browser I use.  I did some digging and I came across several others with the same problem and there seems to be a problem with Windows Update.  Suggestions are to uninstall the latest updates to fix the problem, but I think it started several weeks ago and I don't want uninsatll everything.  Any help is appreciated.
