  Satellite A30-514 friend is sitting right here in front of me:

  1. the switch does nothing; push or pressed.
  2. every six seconds a motor turns for a second
  3. in the six second gaps the disk and CD lights flashing briefly, and there is a slight click
  4. then the disk and CD lights flashing just until the engine is running
  5. the screen shows nothing
  6. I tried to get to the BIOS (ESC, F1, F2, Del, F12) - nothing.
  7. a bootable CD in the drive does nothing.

  I have a Toshiba Satellite A30-232 model. For awhile I have no sound. First of all, I tried to re-install the audio driver unfortunately when I try to deinstallieren driver restarts at the window (a blue screen appears) so thay only I can delete is safe mode. After so many try, I decided to use the recovery disk, but again the same problem it really is strange no? (I'm sure that the sound card is ok because in safe mode, I hear the beep).

  Please me know because I think for a long time, but I found no solution.

  I have PC Toshiba laptop Satellite A30 921.
  I just installed Windows XP Professional and all microsoft updates.
  I downloaded the latest Sound driver and update the bios of Toshiba Web site for this laptop.

  I updated the bios and installed its Audio driver for "Realtek AC97". I'm speaker icon on my taskbar.

  But for some reason, I don't get sound from the speaker or headphones, when I start up windows or CD of music game or file.

  I check the volume and the installation program. I lost completely.

  Please could you help me solve this problem.

  Over the last four years, I have been using a Satellite A30 with XP Pro... had no problems whats so ever until that last months... I started to notice the battery life becomes lower before (prob because of the decrease in battery life) but also when he is on the grid it will charge the battery to 100% but instead of power are removed from the sector It starts to drain the battery even when the sector is connected.

  Another problem is that I have to keep or stop the laptop goes into hibernation mode so it can recognize it is powered from the battery to load... even in this case, it may take several attempts for the laptop to begin to charge the battery...

  had a similar problem with an other friend A30. After sending the machine to an ASP (certified partner), they told us that the internal charger was defective and they have offered to swap the motherboard.
  But given that the motherboard was really expensive for him he sold the machine on Ebay and bought and Satellite A200 which is a machine really well.

  I guess that the motherboard is gone...

  I have a strange problem with my Installation of XP. I had to reinstall XP two days ago because there no periodically starts.

  In any case on my new install, I can't install THE Conexant drivers, who would be the modem and audio driver. I need the modem, so this isn't the important point, but the sound is annoying. I've been trying several drivers I found on the internet but none work, they all complain to the facility, there is that no devices found which would correspond to the driver.

  I have the Satellite Pro A100 (PSAAC) "PSAACE - 00200DG 3"with Windows XP."
  I recently formatted my hard drive and run my Toshiba Recovery CD. Everything worked very well. As I downloaded the latest drivers for my computer including the Toshiba Virtual Sound drivers. After I deleted the old Virtual Sound driver and started installing new version of same message appears "Toshiba Virtual Sound can't stand your computer."
  Then I tried to install a later version of the same thing that was on the recovery CD and I would get the same message again. Moreover, after any new installation of Windows XP, Virtual Sound works OK. Please someone had the same problem and could you give me a solution.
