ReadyBoost works with Windows 7 Starter Edition?

ReadyBoost will work with Windows 7 Starter Edition?
I am intrigued by the Archos 9 tablet PC runs Windows 7 Starter Edition, but received some lukewarm reviews, with its performance most often described as weak.
I thought that Readyboost can help him, but I'm not sure if it is supported in Windows 7 Starter Edition.
Does anyone know for sure?

Hi Ebenton,

Windows ReadyBoost can use storage space on some devices of removable media, such as USB flash drives, speed up your computer. When you insert a device with this capability, the AutoPlay dialog box will offer you the option to speed up your system using Windows ReadyBoost. If you select this option, you can then choose how much memory to use for this purpose.

This feature comes with all editions of Windows 7.

I have an Acer computer I want to do a total restore. It came with windows 7 starter edition, and then I bought Microsoft word for it. If Microsoft word will lose if I do the restoration?

If you purchased Word on CD, it's no big deal; just reinstall it after the factory restore. If it was bought online, copy the file downloaded to a CD and then reinstall it later.

Is there a particular reason, why you want to do a restore complete? Have you problems? If so, you can try asking here on how to fix them and do not have to do a restore, reinstall all your programs and all of the updates and service pack 1.

  • Adobe Reader XI works with Windows 7 Starter?

I had trouble downloading Adobe Reader XI. It kept suspended 96% during installation. I tried to restart and redownload and checked for viruses, but the installation never worked. I also tried the adobe cleaner to clean the device, reboot, and try the installation again. That did not work. I also tried the direct download link and that no longer works. In fact, the direct download concluded there was a 150210 error (no idea what it means :/).

So now I'm looking at the plug and I was wondering if the problem all this time is that it is not compatible with WIndows 7 Starter. Some tech specs list not specifically 7 Starter (it's just supposed to with Windows 7). This should my system or not? And if it is supposed to work, how do I get the installation to work?

    Thanks in advance.

I think the drive setup should work on any edition of Windows 7.  I don't know what the 150210 way of error.

Try if you can succeed with the MSI installer: http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/11.x/11.0.00/en_US/AdbeRdr11000_en_US.msi (English version 11.0.0).

    Hello

Unfortunately, you have not the possibility to extend your desktop to an external monitor or projector in Windows 7 Starter edition. It would be best to upgrade to Windows 7 family premium, professional, Ultimate or enterprise.

  • Windows 7 Starter Edition and LabWindows/CVI

    Hello

I have two questions/problems with an application written with CVI 9.0.1 and CVI 2009 respectively Windows Vista professional.

First if I have a distribution of my software package (or a version of a sample distribution package) and you want to install it on a netbook with Windows 7 Starter Edition Setup displays the following error message:

"This product does not support Windows Starter Edition."

Is this just a restriction of the installation program, or CVI will never support the Starter Edition?

We often sell these netbooks as well as our units of measurement as an input/output device. But I think that in a future close all netbooks will use Windows 7 instead of XP and above all the Starter Edition.

So if it is not taken in charge this will help upgrade netbooks to Windows 7 Home Premium? I have already tested Windows 7 Professional and it works, but I do not want to install Professional on a netbook...

My second question also the Starter Edition.

I'm building a kit of distribution of working space example "interp.cws" (curve fit and Interpolation) with the runtime engine installed in the application directory. If I run the .msi instead of the setup.exe package then the software has been installed on the system.

So I can run the software, and it seems to work. But if the software calls a function in the library of analysis advanced (for example, the Spline Interpolation) it does not work. With remote debugging I discovered that there was a nonlethal runtime error "the analysis DLL library is not found or could not be loaded" during the spline function calls.

The same sample works fine with Windows 7 Professional.

Is this also a restriction of the CVI, and will be the reason (or one of the reasons) did not support the Starter Edition?

Or is there a workaround for these errors?

    Best regards

    M.S.

National Instruments supports Windows 7 Starter; However, just as now, our facilities are defined to stop any Windows Starter Edition is detected.  This is because XP and Vista Starter Editions were marketed to emerging markets and had severe limitations of performance.

You should make sure that your specific product supports Windows 7.  If this is the case you can follow the instructions in the knowledge base

  • kb2416471 install fails with 80070BC9 on Windows 7 Starter Edition.

    Hello.

I have serious problems with the installation of .NET Framework 3.5.1 security update on my Asus Eee PC 901 running Windows 7 Starter edition.

Whenever I try to install it, I get error 80070BC9. I tried to repair Windows Update, but it does not help.

In some forums on the Internet, it is suggested to turn off .NET Framework 3.5.1 in Windows 7, but it is not possible to do this on Windows 7 Starter, given that this option is available in the Windows features.

It's even more annoying because Windows will continue to try to install this update several times, every time I start the computer.

Visit the Microsoft Solution Center and antivirus security for resources and tools to keep your PC safe and healthy. If you have problems with the installation of the update itself, visit the Microsoft Update Support for resources and tools to keep your PC updated with the latest updates.

I have a Dell computer that came with Windows XP Home edition.  When I start my computer the monitoring of ERROR appears: RUNDLL error loading specified not found \3\DLBUtime.dll module

I just click 'ok' and he goes, but, as for what it stop popping up everytime I start my computer.

Can someone help me with this?

    Aprilm,

You are LuLu5119, who posted a question last August?

If this isn't the case, you should have started your own thread.  If so (and even if not), you should have responded to questions about Dell printers.

Assuming that you complain of a "Error loading \3\DLBUtime.dll" message that appears when you start your computer, you should know that the DLBUtime.dll file probably has something to do with the software from Dell which has been partially deleted, but could also be indicative of malware as well as partially withdrawn.

In both cases, the best way for start you to prevent the message at windows is to download Autoruns http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

Install the Autoruns and let it complete the scan of your computer.  Then click on the "Connection" tab and uncheck the following entry:

Look for an entry that has 'DLBUCATS' in the first column.  If you do not see that, look for "rundll32 \3\dlbutime.dll" in the last column ("path of the Image).

Uncheck that entry, close Autoruns and restart your computer.  You should get is no longer the message.

If for any reason, you find later that you need dlbutime.dll running, run Autoruns and check the box. If you decide that you need never again, run Autoruns, right-click on the entry and select Delete.

As General precautionary measure, in case your entry dlbutime.dll was related to malicious software, rather than the Dell printing software, download the following free scanners:

    MalwareBytes Anti-Malware: http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware Portable: http://superantispyware.com/portablescanner.html

For MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, download, install, update and run.
For Portable SAS, follow the instructions on the Web page (note that the instructions assume that you use a different computer to download; if you're not, just make a note of the name of the file).
