  • Satellite P100 - 324 BIOS reports less than real memory installed, why?

    I have a P100-324 Satellite which I installed 4 GB of memory.
    Memory is a Kingston KVR667D2S5 / 2G, so I installed 2 of them.
I've updated the BIOS, but still when I press F2 to access the configuration
I find that the less than 4 GB installed memory. It makes account
3070 MB. When using windows the systeminfo program reports 4096 MB RAM.
However, System properties, it shows 3.0 GB and that is because
It is 32-bit windows xp mce. I ran live fedora 7 x 64 and he reports only 3 GB as the bios.
Why? Is there a way to fix that.

  • Used real memory of SGA?

    -Oracle 11 g 11.2.0.3.0
-initial memory allocated during installation is 8 GB.

Oracle will always grab the 8 GB of windows at startup, I guess.

Now, how to find, out of 8 GB SGA how is Oracle use actually upward. Is there a HWM (HWM) telling us
What is the memory used by Oracle 8 GB allocated?

    Thank you

  • Memory warrning

Hi, I noticed that I have on a server logs, warning for memory. It's like this:

Free memory: 28.5 MB of available memory: 381,1 MB Ratio: 0.07 Ratio is low after system.GC(), reduce the resource cache elements.

DEOs anyone now what it is? It is every half hour in the content server log file.

You are short of memory in Java. Java has tried to dump the unused memory by running the garbage collection operation (this is the System.gc () function and always after that which has only 28.5 MB (or 7% of the total memory Java) to work in. It warns you if your Java application is expected to grow further, you will encounter the sentence.

The content Server automatically starts a default heap space about 384 MB Java. It is a defect and generally insufficient for an entire server of UCM. Normally I'd say increasing the Java Heap Space to 1 GB or so, if you have extra memory to play with!

To do this, put the following in the /bin/intradoc.cfg of file and reboot:

    JAVA_MAX_HEAP_SIZE = [size in megabytes]

For example, the following text set the maximum segment size to 1 GB getting started:

    JAVA_MAX_HEAP_SIZE = 1024

    Kind regards

  • iPhone 6 s real memory (with iOS 9.2.1)

I bought the iPhone 6 s 64 gb in November and when I used iTunes syncing my phone, I remember being somewhere near 59 gb capacity (I get 64 GB isn't really 64 GB). However, I dropped my iPhone on a carpet floor and the vibration motor no longer works. I had exchanged iPhone and when checking my storage on the new iPhone it says 55.7 GB after updating my phone to 9.2.1 my storage capacity says now 55,62 GB. I know it may just be the iOS which decreases the space, but shouldn't that apply only to the 'availability '?

I don't remember mine being to 59GB, but watching now with iOS 9.2.1 I show in settings > General > on > ability to 55.6 GB. I'm not where I can check iTunes.

  • R420 SNMP memory status

    Hello

I try to get the status of memory via snmp on R420, idrac7, bios version 1.5.2 firmware 1.57.57. I am able to get other statutes as cpu but memory. IDRAC-MIB that i've got has supported the following responsible OID:

    memoryDeviceStatus 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.5.4.1100.50.1.5

    but I can't do:

    $ snmpwalk - v 2 c-c 192.168.1.30 public 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.5.4.1100.50.1.5
ISO.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.5.4.1100.50.1.5 = No. Such Instance already exists for this OID

the same goes for systemStateMemoryDeviceStateDetails - 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.5.4.200.10.1.26

and all the other related memory OID. I can see memory in FRU data but not what I would use.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Ok. It seems that finally sorted. OID is not accessible when memory-> system memory test is disabled. Which is the default (!). Obviously, it is not editable without rebooting is a trap for production approx.

I don't know why associated as only requested docu "Indicates if tests memory BIOS software-based system are carried out during the POST.". " »

    Thank you.

  • memory leak?

I have a MacBook Air, mid-2012, running OS 10.11.3, 4 GB of memory.  In the activity monitor, the memory of pigs is kernel_task:

    kernel_tas 523,0 MB 0 bytes 118 0 0 root 0 bytes 0 bytes 64 bit 5.6 2:19:33.30 1.92 GB 0 bytes 0 bytes NO. NO. NO. 0 bytes 0 bytes 0 0 - 0 bytes NO. Yes

It is using 1,92 GB real memory.

I get continual notice that my drive is full.  I run monitor memory regularly and keep all caches and cleaned downloads.  At this point, iPhoto will not download my pictures because my memory is full.

Anyway I can fix this problem myself?

The disk is full and the memory are 2 things different and independent. On a MacBook Air memory is generally 4 GB or 8 GB while the storage of 'disc' is generally 128 GB or 256 GB. The 'disk' is used for long term storage while memory is used by actively running things. In the case of the MacBook Air, the 'disc' is not really a disk - it's flash storage.

The following may help with the problem of full disk:

OS X El Capitan: increase the disk space

I now often have either force quit, restart and started having panic 'of the core"since I agree allow Firefox CPU usage monitor. I'm still on OS X 10.6.8 on my Mac. I got no problem with anything since installing this OS X.

However, from time to time with the latest Firefox 7.0.1 installation I think the program or my computer 'blocks' and seems unresponsive. I left active Firefox and resident on my computer last night and once again, everything will be inadmissible. I opened the monitor activity and noticed that Firefox was consuming 283 MB of real memory (now 298,6 MB) and I have this one open another tab for the Seattle Times. I withdraw my permission to allow Firefox to watch my memory usage and need to know how to delete the cookie or what ever that governs)

Go to Firefox > Preferences > advanced > general tab and uncheck the box "send performance data" more information here.

  • El Capitan beachball memory WARNING etreCheck

Hi all, just went from Snow Leopard to El Capitan a week ago. System worked a little slower that previously, for example, beachball delay when moving from one application to the next. Everything froze last night and I got the message "your system is running out of Application memory". I left a few apps and he was running again, so I did a search on which lead me to some previous discussions on these forums. A little advice that seemed useful was to run etreCheck I get & post the report below. I guess that the problem is due to software obsolete that are always installed and can see some things in the report which appear to be problematic, but I don't know exactly what to do to correct them. Would appreciate any advice on how to proceed.

    Thank you

    com.evernote.Evernote - /Applications/Evernote.app/Contents/MacOS/Evernote

Everything froze last night and I got the message "your system is running out of Application memory".

This message means that there is no excessive swapping of data between physical memory (that is, tokens of memory on the logic board) and virtual memory (one or more files on the boot volume.) This activity is relatively slow and causes the entire system to be less sensitive. It can happen for two reasons:

A process of long duration with a memory leak (a kind of bug)

Not enough memory for your usage pattern

Please note that if the cause is a memory leak, install more memory will not help. It's likely you have already more than 4 GB of memory. Hunt for leaking memory can be difficult, and it may come down to a process of elimination.

These instructions are for OS X 10.9 and later versions. Some details may be slightly different for earlier versions of Mac OS X.

When you notice the slowdown, open the activity monitor application, then select all processes in the view menu, if it is not already selected. Select the memory the real Mem of the treatment twice table column header to sort the table with the highest value at the top. If you do not see this column, select

View ▹ columns ▹ real memory

    in the menu bar.

If a process (excluding the "kernel_task") uses a lot more memory than all the others, which could be an indication of a leak. A better indication would be a process that constantly catches real more memory over time without ever letting go. Here is an example of how it's done.

"Wired" memory should be less than half of the total. That memory is not exchanged, but makes available physical memory that you may then in Exchange. If most of the memory is wired, which can be an indication of a leak memory in a third-party program that modifies the low-level operating system. Ask for advice in this case.

If you do not have a clear memory leak, the options are to install more memory (if possible) or less than programs running concurrently.

The following suggestion is reserved for users familiar with the shell. For a more accurate, but potentially misleading test, run the following command:

sudo leaks -nocontext -nostacks process | grep total

where process is the name of a process, you think of a memory leak. Almost every process will cause a memory leak. the question is how, and especially how the leakage increases with time. I can't be more specific. See the manual page leaks (1) and the Apple Developer documentation for more details.

  • HP Streasm: Warning of insufficient memory on HP Stream

I sometimes get a fake "Memory" read in point 8.1 of Windows.  I concluded it's a bug in Windows 8.1 has still not been fixed.  The warning may appear at any time and requires no open program other than windows functions-use basis.  The documented problem indicates that there is not enough memory at all but 'virtual memory' aka, pagefile.  My swap file had been set to automatic and read between 1996 MB and MB 3096 when checked before.  My sister-in-law also gets the same error reading on his HP flow.  The experimental only work around that I have tried is to manually set the pagefile to 3000 MB minimum and maximum of 5000 MB.  Why should I still do if Windows is supposed to manage this function?  Memory is never a problem, because I have never more than one program open at the same time except my antivirus in the background.  In fact, I have never had no problem when I actively use the program Google Earth Gobeurs of memory.  The only time wherever I saw the warning message appears is when the laptop is sitting temporarily idle without program upward except maybe a benign game like Spider Solitaire on the screen.  Review of real memory always reads less than 50% usage.  Am I missing something here?

    Thanks for any help.

Validated solutions that above probably will not solve problems with low memory.

  • Acer Aspire x 3960-how to upgrade memory?

I hope that someone on the forum will be able to help me. I am wanting to upgrade the memory on my Aspire x 3960 (small form factor desktop) but to be honest I don't have any idea how to do it. I'm ok with the purchase of real memory and know how much it will, but the problem is to install.

I opened the folder and it does not seem a way to access the memory without taking the DVD player on (which I don't know how to do). Does anyone have any idea how I can do that he leads me in the corners. I have attached a picture of what the inside looks like just in case it is useful.

OK, I managed to sort it out. I had to remove the front panel and there is 2 screws. Remove the screws allows the dvd drive & disc hard case to slide and then I was able to install additional memory.

  • Windows 7 is slowing down, block memory shows 98% use, wmpnetwk.exe

While not all programs running or executing programs, I noticed windows 7 would start using my memory and I have a game lag and stop, I watched my indicator memory as it was up to 98% in use... I have 4 GB of RAM on my 64-bit windows computer 7.  I went to tools and wrote a check to see what type of program was a memory leak. It was the following program wmpnetwk.exe

When I turned off wmpnetwk.exe my memory would be down to a single concert in use and 3gigs saving. When wmpnetwk.exe would start up... yet once I see the memory run out till he should reach the mark high of almost all my four concerts in use.  Even though I was sitting idle on my desktop without running programs the wmpnetwk.exe program would begin using this amount memory. While I can surf the net or running othere progams that I had to close this off progam or to stop running in the article taks a windows manager tools. Please correct this program in windows 7 as soon as you can... It allows windows 7 a eater of real memory... and very unpleasant to use.

If you have ideas how to stop it please let me know... Thank you.  It's still the wmpnetwk.exe program that uses this memory.

I reverse it noticing when CD importing to itunes. This has to do with Windows Media Center. If you use Media Center, do not change anything... If you don't use it, open it and go to settings > libraries.  You need to remove libraries for recorded TV, music, photos, videos, etc.

Once you have removed all this, things should go back to normal. I noticed then that I import CD that my fan was super strong which was not normal. I looked into the Task Manager and saw that it was wmpnetwk.exe running - it was scanning the plethora of new songs I drop me off in my \Music\iTunes file.  Given that I have that off in Media Center, I had the problem since.

Namely, I noticed that the CPU usage go as high as 20% on my laptop (chart below). When he died, the fan barely returned I hope this helps someone.

Core i5 clocked at 2.66 Ghz

    8 GB RAM

    Windows 7 x 64

  • Memory and the use of the disc on my IDS 4235 sensor & 4250.

My ID sensor memory usage shows a use of 99%, and the hard drive is already 5 of the 15 Gig. Here is the log of "seeing the worm."

With the help of 398913536 of 1980493824 memory available bytes (99% of use)

With the help of 5 of the 15 bytes of disk space available (66% of use)

-only the signature of med and high seriousness is enabled. Why the sensor used this memory?

-Is this the sensor has IDS to a database that stores the logs which causes the hard drive used space? (considering that she has the management of the IDM)

    - Or any other reason why the hard drive used whereas the large drive space is new and operating time is 2 months?

-Update of the signature file is adults who took over this large space on the HARD drive?

Hope - could someone give me an idea why is it so.

As I said earlier, there is not a problem with the use of disk space. Memory usage bug is fixed in the 5.X product not 4.X. However, there are some good bug fixes in the patch of engineering 4.1(4g).

The number of real memory usage can be determined from the service account by entering the following command:

    Bash-2, $05 free

total used free shared buffers cached

    MEM: 1934076 1424896 509180 0 18284 1214536

    -/ + buffers/cache: 192076 1742000

    Swap: 522072 0 522072

The "Mem:" line and the column 'pre-owned' is the amount of memory (in kilobytes) that

the command reports "show version". However, this total includes the

    amount 'caching '.

So in the example above, the actual memory used is (1424896-1214536), or

    210360 KB. It is (210360 / 1934076 * 100), or 10.9% of total memory.
