• Book for beginners - Dreamweaver CS4

  Hi all

  I thought that this question might have been answered before, but a brief search forums was not helpful, so I write my question.

  I just bought CS4 Design Premium and taught me in my work. Dreamweaver is proving particularly difficult to use.

  From Adobe classroom in a book series is completely unnecessary, so I'm looking for a better book. Preferably, it would be an understandable for beginners, but who teaches quite advanced issues to create a good website.

  A book that I find very very well written and can be used by users of all levels is "Dreamweaver CS4-The Missing Manual" David Sawyer McFarland. I don't think that I still have not found an answer in. Will guide you through it lesson by lesson, she is excellent reference on how to do certain tasks.

  Given that, the best resource I've found is the videos on Lynda.com. And of course the Adobe Forums! ;-)

• Recommend a book for GUI concepts.

  Hi gurus,

  The subject says it all. I was never a fan of GUI programming. Always avoided. But now the BB I guess I have no choice but to dive head first into the GUI. In looking KB articles I realize I have very weak concepts of the fact that the graphical object or the Paint method and the method of layout and all that of other GUI things. Can someone recommend a good java GUI book that could help out me in the programming of BB. Something more than a book of beginner level.

  PS. I already beginning BlackBerry development by Anthony Rizk. Great book, but it touches just briefly on the GUI.

  More GUI controls keep getting included in the BONES, which can help, but only if you are targeting the current operating systems.

• Recommendation/resources (books, examples) for NI Vision

  Hi all

  After a few days I tried to learn and to do some very basic projects (video) using NI Vision and its does not too well, in part because I have no image editing experience or background. I would like to know if there are some resources out there for beginners. I found a book "image acquisition and processing with labview", but it is intended for more experienced users. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

  You can browse different websites and are looking for tips and tricks, or you can buy a book like Windows 7 for Dummies (or any other entry level book).

  But the best option is to do a combination of the use of the PC and reading. You can read all the books and read all sites, but you will learn a lot by using just the PC and windows.

  I did some quick research for DG books.  There is not a lot to choose from and none of the 12 c yet.  I haven't started on my details page of Oracle Certification Prep exam for 066, so my research on this issue is minimal at best.  That said, the only books I've seen which were reasonable in all were Oracle Data Guard 11 g manual press of Oracle and Oracle Data Guard 11 GR 2 management beginner's Guide by Packt Publishing.  I have not read the books or studied the contents of a.  A warning for me on the Packt flag is that all the of the positive comments on the book seem drawn by the hair.  I've seen this before on other books from this Publisher.  They seem to have a handful of people who write glowing reviews of 5 stars from Packt books within a very short time from the date of publication. This seems misleading just for me. The press review of the Oracle by contract has several times the number of comments on a wide range of dates, and they are almost always positive.

  That said, I would like to reiterate - I have not checked the content of a.  Before I add books that do not specifically reference a review for "Third-party resources" pages on my site, I compare the Table of contents for the purposes of test to see if there is a reasonable correspondence on the matter.

  I'll try to at least a start on a details page for 066 in the coming weeks.  I'm in deep writing at the moment, but I should be able to take a break to search for documentation and articles and whitepapers for Data Guard.

  I have already downloaded the PL/SQL language reference guide and guide for certification of Matthew Morris, and I wonder if it is worth investing on one of these two books:

  Well, I have both the McLaughlin(11g) and Feuerstein (5th edition)... my Feuerstein's most lopsided of the use.  None of these review oriented but are more for learning the language. which is really what in the end you have to do more than learn the review.  McLaughlin has stuff in it that, generally at any time, I don't really have what to know.  I hesitate to recommend Mclaughim Feuerstein for versions I have if for no other reason than the police, layout and structure works better Feuerstein for me.

  Two of these books have editions came out for 12cR1 and consider later.  Get a cheap second hand earlier edition would work as well.  Earlier current on Amazon UK the last Feuerstein on kindle a little over half the price of the paperback... sometimes, I find certain books are not good on kindle etc but Feuerstein is a large piece to the basket to autour.

  Don't ignore the funnel put the concise PL/SQL expert guide on your kindle either.

  We often see a question like "THAT which program should I use / should I use/not pros use. But there is here a big assumption, and it is usually a false assumption. Pros use a mix of programs to do their job. A common mixture, but certainly not the only one, is

  -Word (sometimes) to get the text without photos or page layout

  -Photoshop, to manage the photos and scanned drawings

  -Illustrator, to create original works of art on the computer

  -InDesign to ask pages and put the text, photos, analyzed together art and original works of art. (The text can be performed InDesign if there is not a lot) To apply consistent styles so the thing seems professionally produced rather than a hodgepodge.

  Each of these programs would be used to save files in an organized and systematic way until you collect things. Copy/paste is very little used.

  They are tools professional and immensely rich in functionality; and dive you are likely to commit errors which lead you in the wrong results or who need to start the project. I highly recommend investing in a serious training only in those programs, but in the entire task of modern graphic design.

  Hi, I have a certain experience, building a site of electronic commerce as a beginner, but it is not clear if that is your real goal or not what you'e says.

  Even for a regular site without electronic commerce (e-commerce, I mean having a credit card shopping cart and taking orders online via your site, etc.), always things for me as in a fog - and slowly over time, the fog clears and I can see what is happening. So hang in there.

  Whatever it is, I advise to use a model, but it means different things, in function.  In Dreamweaver, you have CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) available models from which to choose, which are a good starting point. Recently, I used one to turn my site into CSS and leave the use of the tables behind.

  As a beginner, would do you well to begin to learn the construction of Web sites using CSS right from the start. It would be a huge advantage for you. In DW, in your first Panel under the column "create new", descend to the bottom and click on the folder 'more '. That will take you to all the available models. There, choose "Blank template" and "Html", then a specific model.

  I would like to choose a model that is "fixed", which means that the width of the construction is specifically defined in pixels, as a 2 column fixed left sidebar with "."

  I heard that that fixed CSS templates (etc vs. liquid) are easier for beginners to work with.

  IF you go to an e-commerce site, I would recommend using storefront software, which gives you very good models to use - and their software works as a DW Plugin, which means it fits in the DW interface and making it easier to use.   I've updated to Sierra this morning and since then my WD My Book for Mac has been slain in the backup of the preparation for about 10 hours. My backup before the upgrade went through without a problem. Is the amount of time the backup takes to be expected with the upgrade or it's just stuck in limbo?

• Time Machine do not hourly backups on WD My Book for Mac new

  My 1 TB time capsule was too small for the full backup so I just bought a 6 new to WD "My Book for Mac" and have now a new back up, but it won't backup time as usual. I am running OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 Can anyone who thinks that the reason for what I fear not having a reliable backup.   In addition to these measures, hourly backups could be affected by your sleep Macs and power Nap settings, depending on which Mac you use. To ensure that your hourly backups are finished, set your Mac sleep to a longer period time. For testing purposes, try to set the duration of sleep at least 1 hour. You can do this in system preferences > energy saver.
