Recordset Paging with a stored procedure in MSSQL

Hi all
I have a problem with the paging recordset using a recordset of a procedure stored in MSSQL 2000.

The page works fine without the Recordset pagination feature. That is, it returns a recordset and displays the information on the screen as expected. However, as soon as I add this feature in, the page of the database server indicating that a parameter has not been supplied to the stored procedure returns an error. I suspect that this could be to do with the refresh in the service.

Has anyone encountered this problem before and all the ideas how to get around?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Ben.

Thanks for all your help. This works a treat!

I didn't know it was possible to run a stored procedure from the behavior of the recordset object. I was under the impression that the stored procedures must be accessible by the behavior of 'command '. A new day to dawn!

Thank you!

    Thank you

    The exception occurs because you said JPA to pass a parameter, but it is not expected the stored procedure. Try to change your definition of stored proc in a cursor output variable that can be used in your JPA query to return the cursor. An example is here:

  • Problem with the stored procedure

    Hello everyone,
    I am French and I am trying to create a stored procedure in my oracle database 10 g R2.

    Here's the code I developed:

    create or replace procedure recgenerator (max_row in number, min_row number) is
    Start
    cursor c_nume_clie is
    Select nume_clie
    from (select rownum rn, nume_clie of the customer)
    where < = max_row and rn > rn = min_row;
    r_nume_clie c_nume_clie % ROWTYPE;
    Start
    Open c_nume_clie;
    loop
    extract the c_nume_clie in r_nume_clie;
    When the output c_nume_clie % NOTFOUND;
    dbms_output.put_line (r_nume_clie.numero);
    end loop;
    close c_nume_clie;
    end;
    end;
    /

    As you can see, the point is to allow a user to select the folder he wants only. I did a slider to get this, but oracle returns me an error and I can't find the source.

    Here is the oracle error:
    SQL > show errors

    When you want to print something on the screen you should be sure that you have added your connection to DBMS output.

    Go to the menu 'View'--> 'DBMS output. You can see that there is a new Dbms output window, where you can click the green sign to add your connection. Execute the statement again and you will see that the statement was printed.

    end PDFTOOLS.pkg_pdf_utilities;
    /

    It's very basic, but doesn't seem to work. However, I want to my function from PL/SQL to a procedure that looks like this:

    CREATE OR REPLACE package PDFTOOLS.pkg_pdf_utilities
    as
    procedure sp_append_pdf (
              pio_pdf2append2   IN OUT NOCOPY blob
            , pio_pdf2append   IN OUT NOCOPY blob
      )
    end pkg_pdf_utilities;
    /

    What is important, what I'm trying to do is to NOCOPY the BLOBs. Otherwise, I have to read my PDF files into 2 BLOBs and create a 3rd blob as output. I prefer to be able to keep the pio_pdf2append2 as the final output. What I actually do call thing in a loop to gradually add a PDF file to a big. I'm not linking this in one operation because of concerns over the use of the system and because the pdfbox library java has would have been question after 850 in PDF format, which is not completely unrealistic in my approach.

    How could I achieve this?

    Passage of an argument as input/OUTPUT requires the mapping to a Java array.

                os.write(buffer, 0, len);
            }
            os.close();
            is.close();

  • execution of stored procedure in sql developer/sql more with a table setting?

    Hello

    I create a package with a procedure which has a cursor ref as output and a type as an input parameter.  Here is my definition of the package

    PACKAGE
    -------
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE TEST
    As
      TYPE RefCursorType IS REF CURSOR;
      type intTableType is table of varchar2(50) index by binary_integer;

      PROCEDURE GETDATA (
              P_RECORDS OUT RefCursorType,
               YEAR_LIST IN intTableType
      );
    END;

    PACKAGE BODY
    -----------------------

    SET DEFINE OFF
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY TEST
    AS
    PROCEDURE GETDATA
    (
      P_RECORDS OUT RefCursorType,
      YEAR_LIST IN intTableType
    )
    AS
    iYearList  IDTableType;
    BEGIN
      --GET ARRAY COUNT
      IYEARLIST := IDTABLETYPE();
      IYEARLIST.EXTEND(YEAR_LIST.COUNT);

      --LOOP THROUGH LISTS AND POPULATE ARRAY
      FOR I IN YEAR_LIST.FIRST .. YEAR_LIST.LAST
      LOOP
      IYEARLIST(I) := IDTYPE(TO_CHAR(YEAR_LIST(I)));
      END LOOP;

       OPEN P_RECORDS FOR
       SELECT CITHTML AS FORMATTED
        FROM dbTest.FORMATTED_HTML
      WHERE YEAR IN (SELECT * FROM TABLE(IYEARLIST))
      ;
      END GETDATA ;
    END TEST ;
    /

    I want to perform this procedure from the sql or sql developer more to see if it works properly.   The year field dbTest.FORMATTED_HTML is defined as varchar2 (20 bytes).  He has many years as well as text.

    I've used this in the past with simple stored procedures, but not those with a table setting

    var r refcursor;

    exec GETOLDDATA(:r,40);

    print r;

    How can I modify this to allow him to run my stored procedure?

    OF dbTest.FORMATTED_HTML

    WHERE YEAR IN)

    SELECT *.

    TABLE (YEAR_LIST)

    );

    GETDATA END;

    END TEST;

    /

  • Insert a record, call a stored procedure and execute a shell script

    Hello

    I am trying to build a page APEX do these three things in order.

    #1. Insert a new record in a database table (pk, donnees_xml, attr1 and attr2, etc.) and download the XML file to the donnees_xml column

    #2. Save this XML file on a file system

    #3. Parse the XML file on a file system and update the database with the parsed data table

    I can do #1 with a regular shape based on the database table. I can do #2 with a stored procedure.

    I can do #3 with a shell script.

    I wonder how these tasks can be combined into a single action in APEX.

    do #1;

    If successful, do #2;

    If successful, do #3;

    I'd appreciate comments on this.

    Thank you

  • [BC] Call a stored procedure taking parameters of table

    Hello!

    I currently have a request of the OIC that makes thousands of calls per second stored procedure. The stored procedure runs a business logic that I want my client application to stay informed.  I want to reduce the cat of the database and instead to call the stored procedure from thousands of times per second, call the procedure (for example) once per second, but with values of one mile.

    I used OCIBindArrayOfStruct successfully to perform inserts bulk, where my OCI application executes a () INSERT INTO using the function "iters" and it might be possible to do something similar with the stored procedure, but I want to do something slightly different, because the procedure stored something like this:

    * If a specific condition is set, call a secondary stored procedure

    * If another special condition is set, insert a row into a table of some

    I so wanted to do was to pass a table (or a series of tables) in the stored procedure, then the stored procedure to use optimal methods that are available, such as FORALL, to perform each of the tasks, the more effectively.

    So I thought to create a type, such as a TABLE OF VARCHAR2, or a VARRAY and possessing of the parameters for the stored procedure based on this type, something like:

    create or replace TYPE 'NTT_VARCHAR2' AS TABLE OF VARCHAR2 (32700);

    create or replace FUNCTION bulk_process_values)

    p_error_message OUT NOCOPY VARCHAR2,

    p_module_context_name OUT NOCOPY VARCHAR2,

    p_sql_error OUT NOCOPY VARCHAR2,

    p_count in NUMBERS

    p_non_array_var_1 IN VARCHAR2,

    p_non_array_var_2 IN VARCHAR2,

    p_array_var_1 IN NTT_VARCHAR2,

    p_array_var_2 IN NTT_VARCHAR2,

    p_array_var_3 IN NTT_VARCHAR2

    < etc. for all the variables in table >)

    RETURN NUMBER

    .. .but I am struggling to find an example of how call the procedure "bulk_process_values" stored, and even if I use a TABLE OF VARCHAR2 or a VARRAY as a parameter type.

    I searched the Internet and found this: OIC - how to bind an array to a stored procedure? - and binding table of the structs (OCIBindArrayOfStruct) sample code

    - but they take different approaches and a bit confused (the second example spoke of OTT).

    I think that the first approach is more likely to be the solution I need - but I can't help thinking - it is a bunch of stuff to move if it does not end up significantly improve performance!

    My questions are:

    * Moves to a call-SP-thousands-of-times-per-second to call-SP-fewer-times-but-with-array-parameters sensitive?

    * Should the table or VARRAY, TABLE OF VARCHAR2 parameters or something else?

    * Should I use for my case OTT?

    Samples I found are both very old - and the second example indicators that the optimal approach evolves with the OCI versions - I'm on 11.2, what is the optimal approach these days?

    * < added later > why is there no official useful example?

    Thank you very much

    Much appreciated. https://community.oracle.com/message/4528528#4528528 has actually worked, with VARRAY, with a proof of concept. Now I just need to shake a little and then get my PL/SQL for optimal PC experts. I think I was really discouraged by the lack of official documents, with the Community (Paradise) is the only way to get real results.

    Thank you JJ.

    I intend me to use the binding enforcement of the table and the table and avoid N back and forth, but I do not then get the opportunity to do something clever in the PL/SQL.

    In the PL/SQL, there is no logic occurring - I don't call the same SP tons of times, but then I want to be able to use PL/SQL optimizations such as FORALL, BULK COLLECT, reduce the number of validations and others.  There is a commit after each SP run, because otherwise the nature of demand means that the application hangs occur; However, there is a way (I think) be smart on the part that is likely to deadlock (making a shape on the Bay First, then applying the updates in the order sorted and then failed to get a blocking theoretically), and then FORALL insert for the second part of the stored procedure.

    I guess I may apply the single return, passing a table (to a commit in the SP)-which will reduce back and forth, so gain in performance, but it will not reduce the number of validations that I do - and Oracle said that commits too frequent is not good for performance. I already have code in my framework that does - by making a simple INSERT INTO.

    Good to hear that OTT is not explicitly required - and VARRAY resembles the approach to try first.

  • Procedure stored procedure of Vs

    Hello all;

    I'm getting confused with the stored procedure Vs.

    Please say that is valid?

    Procedure is a PL/SQL code block, it never stored in the database.

    Procedure is a PL/SQL code block, it is named and stored in the database.

    Stored procedure is block of PL/SQL code is named and stored in the database.

    s someone saying the basics of Oracle PL/SQL procedure . Microsoft SQL Server stored procedure notion.

    Thank you all;

    Hello

    I don't know what you mean by "a PL/SQL block that is stored in the database without a name".  All that is stored in the database has a name.  Objects in PL/SQL (procedures, functions, triggers, or packets) may contain blocks without name, but those without name of blocks are not procedures.

    A procedure is in fact a PL/SQL block that is stored in the database with a name.  So is a function.  So is a trigger.

    Etbin has a good point (as usual): it is difficult to give a good answer to questions short and vague without any context.  If you can do your details of more detailed questions, we could have better QA idea of what you want to know.  For example, if you don't understand something that read you in a blog or a book, publish the entire paragraph that contains the part don't understand, as a link or make reference to the work complete you.

  • Basic stored procedure helps - not the return data

    Hi all:

    To be fair, I come from a SQL Server environment and have never written anything for PL/SQL / Oracle before, this is my first attempt, so if nothing is better or more effective, please let me know. The immediate problem I'm having is, I have the following stored procedure, and all I want to do is return the data in the table, so that I can fill my DataSet in code. But when I run the code against this stored procedure, it still don't bring back any data (if I just do a standard "SELECT * FROM lkAllocation", I get the results, so I know data are there and the connection is good). If execution of the procedure in my window in Oracle SQL Developer (call PAYSOL.spallocationselectall ();), my results displays no data as well. What is the problem with this stored procedure?

    create or replace

    Such a stored procedure I am working on the implementation is named "dbo.getAllowablePNs", running "SELECT * from DeviceType" (DeviceType is the table).  In this case, it requires no input parameter, it has an output parameter that generates the table [cluster] and has a return parameter that returns an integer value (status code for execution) to show if an error occurred.  The DeviceType table has 3 columns; ID (PK, int not null), PN (nvarchar ((15), null) and NumMACAddresses (int, null).)  I have surpassed many examples and I talk to the support OR try to implement this and similar procedures stored in LabVIEW but have not been successful.  I am able to connect to the database with the VI of open connection without error, but spin in some confusion as a result of this step.  I then try to use the VI of parameter query create to call the stored procedure and set the parameters.  I guess I would then use the Set parameter value for each parameter that is connected to the entry of parameters on the previous query with parameters VI VI?  I am also having some confusion during and after these steps as well.  I would greatly appreciate advice or suggestions that anyone could have in this situation because I am not a SQL expert.  Also, I would be happy to provide more information that might be useful.

    Kind regards

    Jon

    Here's what I use to do this.  I think I had to change him create parameterized query VI for him to work.  There is a post on the forum about this somewhere.

  • Problem with stored procedure and validation

    I have the following stored procedure:

    create or replace PROCEDURE SOME_PROC)

    /*

    Some settings

    */

    ) AS

    NUMBER of errors

    BEGIN

    errors: = FN_CHECK_BUSINESS_RULE_1 (/ * some args * /);

    if(Errors > 0) then

    raise_application_error (ERR_CONSTANTS. SOME_ERROR_NUMBER, ERR_CONSTANTS. SOME_ERROR_MESSAGE);

    end if;

    INSERT INTO une_table (/ * columns * /) VALUES (/ * values * /);

    END SOME_PROC;

    Because the business rule 1 is placed inside the stored procedure I can't check it out without calling the stored procedure.

    I need to call the stored procedure 10 times with a different set of parameters and validation of the changes only after all calls to the stored procedure

    are successful. I want to show the user all the errors that occurred during the stored procedure calls. If for a first example of stored procedure call

    succeeds and a second failure no data has to be stored in a database.

    How to prevent the stored procedure for insert lines until I call the method commit of ApplicationModule?

    Thanks in advance.

    No, other users only see the lines until you commit. The search term is the transaction isolation level. Tom Kite write a paper on this here ask Tom: on transaction isolation levels. This article gives some samples, according to theory, and you should read it.

  • ODP 12 c version 3 with EF 6.1.1 I can't add Stored Procedure of a package to my model

    I use the ODP 12 c Release 3 (12.1.0.2.1), with Entity Framework 6.1.1 with the first database in MS Visual Studio 2013 update 4

    I have a MVC 5 (.Net Framework 4.5.2) project that connects to Oracle 11 G R2 Database server, an existing database (Tables, views and a pack of Stored procedures)

    I can add tables and use them successfully in my model
    I can add a simple stored procedure

    Here's the problem:
    I have my .edmx file right click and click on "update model from database...". «, on the 'Add' tab, I chose «Stored procedures and functions»
    I can see the list of procedures stored in the package (format packageName.usp) and check the box for the stored procedure of my package, then click 'Finish' to start the update process.

    No stored procedures have been added to my Model.Store

    The only possible exit I get the 'entity data model' is:
    Generated template file: Model1.edmx.
    Loading metadata from the database took 00:00:00.5803351.
    The model generation took 00:00:00.3761861.

    How to add a stored procedure from a package with the Entity Framework 6.1.1?

    I found the answer.

    When in the edmx model and you right click "Update Model database.

    Uncheck "Import selected stored procedures and functions in the entity model", select the package and update procedures. (It works)

    Then in "Model Explorer" under "Model. Store\ stored procedures/functions" you will see your procedures in the package (finally). Then their card in "Function Imports".

    I don't understand why unchecking import stored procedures works, but it does.

    I also found easier to simply call the procedure directly and not using Entity Framework, as all my procedures are: insertion, update and deletions and not all parameters mapped on the model for the view.

  • How to execute a stored procedure on Sybase with SQL Developer

    We have accessed Sybase 15 with SQL developer.

    We can see the data in the table, if we do not, run the stored procedure (for instance sp_who) developed on Sybase.

    Could you tell me how we execute the stored procedure on Sybase with SQL Developer Sybase?

    Thank you
