  • How to recover the original file names?

    Hello! Please help me.

    Accidentally, I changed the names of the videos that I used for Adobe Premiere. So now, every time I open the folder Adobe Premiere, videos are missing and replaced with a red screen "media disconnected". Is there any way I can recover the original file names without having to do it manually one by one?

    I tried to go back to a restore point, but it does not work. I can't locate too because I don't remember which video is which.

    I already edited almost 50 videos in this project it would take me a loooot of time to start all over again. :((

    Hope you can help me.

    If I understand you correctly, you changed the name of the file in Windows and can't remember what used to be file names. You have modified these in Premiere Pro, and now the project files, that you created do not know where to find the video files.

    Is this correct?

    If so, I may have a simple solution for you.

    Assuming that you're not maxing out every file so that they are all exactly the same length, the number of minutes and seconds and images should get you where you want to go. Almost as unique as a fingerprint on my PC, but I never capture a bunch of videos which are identical in time - although it is possible to do, I guess.

    Open a project file. Checking the properties of each file should reveal the name of file theoriginal and duration, which is also available directly on the thumbnail image (see image below).  Open the media browser, then look at the times on each clip. This should be enough to help you either republish or change the Windows name to what it was originally. It's always one at a time, but it shouldn't take too long. A pen and paper could help 50 videos.

  • But recovered stolen computers Windows has been shattered and a non valid copy was installed

    I have a Gateway computer that had Lojack installed when I bought at a retail store.  Last year, the computer was stolen, but I managed to get it back thanks to Lojack recovery system.

    Unfortunately, the thief wiped the hard drive, including the operating system.  Regardless of the OS they installed was apparently disabled and now I get an error message (and of course the computer is locked).  I just bought Windows 7 for my other computer and would like to take care of the laptop stolen as well.

    What should I do?  During the flight, I also lost my software and my backups.  I can prove it the computer is mine, but I don't have the windows Vista product key more.

    Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

  • I see two panoramas of Windows in my boot loader. One of them says Windows Vista Home Premium (recovered). That means the "recovered"?

    I have two OS and when I turn on my computer I have the option of both to charge in, but the name of my windows vista operating system on the bootstrapper is "Windows Vista (TM) Home Premium (recovered)."

    My question is what is the "Recovered" part of the name average? Its makes me think that I'm not using a full version of windows, or something!

  • users HELP PLEASE

    Your desktop at a yard sale began it, I bought my 10-year-old. its an xp. TBH, I don't really know anything to their subject either. Anyway, she got into trouble, and as one of the punishments, I decided to change his password. She is NOT an administrator. Well I've changed mine and my hubbys user names and passwords down. We are admins. All the passwords are the same, but I need to understand how to recover our new user names or how to make his own one admin account so I can all change and actually write them this time. SERIOUSLY, PLEASE HELP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. She has homework due and I DO it AND ITS A 12 PAGE THESIS.

    THANKS GUYS,.

    First of all, when you bought this used computer, you really should have made a "clean" Windows (or other operating system) installation or used some mechanism provided computer manufacturer to "reset to factory conditions."  Otherwise, you have no way of knowing which can hide on this computer, waiting twelve years to find that your old.

    Second, if little variety of Windows XP is installed on the computer, please do not allow the computer to be connected to the Internet.  Although it is perfectly safe (other than as indicated above) to use Windows XP for functions not Internet such as writing essays, because XP has been unsupported by Microsoft since April 2014, it is vulnerable to online attacks.

    You wrote that you need to "recover our new usernames."  As a general rule, when a computer running Windows XP is activated first, you should see the 'Welcome' screen that displays an icon for each user (see below) that shows the user names.  Don't you see this screen?

    Maybe what you mean is that you ought to get the new passwords that your creation.

    Windows XP has a built-in account named Administrator.  It should not be used on a regular basis and for this reason, whenever a user account is created, 'Administrator' is hidden in the home screen.

    To access the administrator account, restart the computer.

    • As soon as the keyboard lights are flashing, start typing the F8 key.
    • If you do it right, you will see the screen "Advanced Boot Options", which is black with white space characters.
    • If you see the Windows Startup logo and access the Welcome screen, you waited too long to begin to tap F8.  Try again.
    • In the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the up/down arrow keys to select "Safe Mode" and press enter

    Windows starts in Mode without failure.  The screen may look a little strange (usually too big), but when the Welcome screen appears, you should see an icon for the administrator.

    Select administrator and sign.  By default, the password for this account is blank (no password).  If this does not work - because the former owner of the computer has changed - so I'm sorry, but Microsoft's policy does not tell you how to bypass or crack Windows passwords.  You do what you should have done initially: reinstall Windows by using the method of 'reset to factory conditions' of the manufacturer of the computer.

    If you CAN connect using the administrator, then go to control panel > user accounts and passwords as you did it before the change.

    Hi rerx,

    You can get see the sharing computer when it connects to the IP, something like \\192.169.1.101. If you can then on computers please proceed as follows.

    Click Start
    Go to term,
    Type CMD
    Press ENTER.
    Type "ipconfig/flushdns" (without the quotes)
    Press ENTER.
    Type "ipconfig/registerdns".

    See if you can now test the computers by name.

    If you are still unable to disable third-party firewalls which can be put in place on one of the computer and the router.

  • Cannot transfer files between multiple PCs.

    I have 4 PCs; One with Windows 7, two with Windows Vista and one with XP.  I want to be able to transfer files between all four of the PC.  90% of the time, the Windows 7 and Vista systems cannot see the XP system in their network lists in the file Explorer.  Very frustrating.  All the PCs are in the same workgroup.  All have their hard drive to allow others to share and change the permissions.  I is almost as if mother Microsoft won't allow that to happen.  GRRRR

    Everything good must be approached to this VERY annoying problem?

    Hello

    What antivirus/antispyware/security products on machines do you have? Be one you have NEVER
    had on them, including those you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which can cause strange problems).

    Some of them can cause network problems and sometimes you need to uninstall one instead of just disable
    be able to catch him as the primary cause.

    ---------------------------------------

    Check with your router manufacturer's online help (most have excellent help) and their firmware on your router
    model - also check with their forums for possible known problems.

    ---------------------------------------

    Most of these problems is associated parameters and driver. Be careful with trailing spaces when you enter in the
    data. XXXX and xxxx_ are not the same (where the '_' represents a trailing space which is invisible). The best
    way you ensure to remove the spaces to the right is to enter data and then go back up to the last character. See #5
    below.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Follow these steps for all machines:

    It's my generic instructions for the correct driver updates: (you want mainly to update NETWORK and WiFi card drivers).

    This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

    -Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system. For
    each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver, description,.
    version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

    For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
    Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - note the brand and complete model of your
    video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this
    cannot do anything as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
    This will refresh the driver stack.

    Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party with their
    own the software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

    Now go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and then of the manufacturer of the device
    (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for the BIOS, Chipset and software)
    updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

    Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

    Always check in the Device Manager - tab drivers version you install actually shows up. This
    because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a
    pilot - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

    Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW on device at the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - manually check by model.

    Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

    How to install a device driver in Vista Device Manager
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-Device-Manager-install-driver.html

    If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver in the Windows updates,
    This leaves ONE of Windows updates, but it will not install the drivers who are generally older and cause
    questions. If updates offers a new driver and then hide it (right click on it) and then go look for new ones
    manually if you wish.
