Recover office

Hi when I go to the recovery of the system in the start menu just boot windows 8. I had windows 7 as my OS default but I have updated and now it says it is not enabled. I also downloaded HP Support Assistant and tried again, but it always start windows. What should I do?  I want to just do a Factory Reset and Win7 back. Does anyone know how?

Your original post said "I just want to do a factory reset and return on Win7.» Does anyone know how? "

The recovery disks will give you your Windows 7 regardless of what OS you don't have on the computer.

I have an Acer Aspire One Netbook SNID 20206697434 with Windows 7. I bought the recovery disks because eRecovery stalls to Office 2010, but the discs are doing exactly the same thing--wasted $$. I am a citizen of Sr & not very saavy, but can someone help me with step by step instructions? I can only open it in safe mode. Thanks for any help. I tried several times with the same result. Even if I bought the disks, Customer Service Acer will not let me talk to a technician because my net book is not unwarranty - mfg date is 14/01/2012.

I was reluctant to swap the drive, I had run a thorough analysis on it after the crash without encountering any problems.

What I tried, I found on another thread found here: http://community.acer.com/t5/Desktops-All-In-Ones/stuck-on-system-restore-installing-office-2010/td-...

    What I tried was:

    1. initialize a linux CD (although starting to what has allowed you to access one sort utility fdisk should be enough)

2 remove the two partitions leaving the first one recovery partition

    3 start the recovery process

This time he went right through the installation process of the software and in the OOBE Setup program without a hiccup. I can't that assume there is some newspapers on the recovery partition which is getting hung up, perhaps simply by changing the OS partition label would, but I'm not going to tempt fate.

Thanks for your help Cory, hope this helps others go beyond that.

  • Windows Recovery eliminated virus and recovered office, now back in the office hidden objects

    Hello

I removed the Malware from Windows of a customers machine and then fixed recovery problems that caused removal regarding masking of the files linked on the desktop and programs.

It was successful and the machine is free of Virus/Malware
All this happened early last week.
On Friday of last week the customer called me to say he had intermittent problems where the machine would start sometimes and sometimes wouldn't.
Start fail meant it would go beyond the Welcome screen, but the Office would hang until he could use the machine, and then he could exercise a strong offshore and restart.

I made a visit, and as usual with intermittent problems the machine showed no defects.
I ran HiJackThis and could not see anything in the paper that pointed to more malware.

Today the customer asked me to watch the machine he was not starting properly.

What is happening now is the machine starts, gets past the opening screen, plays the startup sound and displays its normal wallpaper.
However, there are no icons on the desktop and the taskbar is non-existent. Make a right click on the desktop will not bring a menu, and if I plug a USB it does not show one menu AutoPlay.
The screensaver comes in after 10 minutes I thought it should and the task manager can be started with Ctrl-Alt-Delete.
If I boot safe mode all I get is a black screen with notifications of Mode without fail to every corner of the screen and nothing else.

Outside of the machine is not not usable it tells me that the machine correctly but does not show what it should.
Can someone let me know what is the best way to go from here.

I have supported Linux systems for three years so a command line is not a problem.

Ah, the operating system is Windows XP Home SP2 (sorry)

    Mike

If your customer has used the power button, the system of NT (NTFS) files may be slightly damaged.

You must first run a chkdsk/r of a real installation of XP bootable XP Recovery Console or a bootable XP Recovery Console CD you can do (no XP media required) and be sure the file system is clean.

Since you are able to get into the Task Manager, take a look at the processes tab to see if explorer.exe is running.

If explorer.exe does NOT work, this is the reason why your office is (probably) just to show a background image.  The explorer.exe IS your way.  If explorer.exe is not running, all you will see is the background image.

If explorer.exe does not work, see if you can start it manually as follows:

In Task Manager, click file, new task, and in the Open box, enter:

    %windir%\explorer.exe

Click OK and see if get you your office.  Of course explorer.exe must always be running.  If this isn't the case, you need to understand what the problem is and fix it.

If you have removed the malware, what applications did you use?

I would recommend this at some point:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

Recover unsaved in Office 2010 Versions

    View all
    Hide all

It is now easier to recover a Microsoft Word 2010, Microsoft Excel 2010, or Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 file if you close your file without saving the changes, or you want to review or return to a previous version of the file that you are already working.

As with previous versions of Office, allowing the AutoRecover in Word 2010, Excel 2010, or PowerPoint 2010 will save versions while you work in your file at the interval you select. Now, you can choose to keep the last saved version of a file automatically if you accidentally close the file without saving the changes, you can restore the next time that you open the file. In addition, while you work in your file, you can access a list files for automatic registration from the Microsoft Office Backstage view.

Important You must have the AutoRecover information record... and keep the last saved version automatically if I close without saving the changes enabled for these features to work. To learn more about these options and how to configure them, see automatically save and recover Office files.

If you work in a new file, or a temporary file of Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, as an attachment in Outlook and then close it without saving the changes, follow these steps to open the last project of automatic registration:

    2. Click the file tab.
    3. Click on the latter.
    4. Click The retrieve unsaved Documents if you're in Word 2010, recover unsaved workbooks so you are in Excel 2010 or recover unsaved presentations if you are in PowerPoint 2010.

      Where is it?

    5. Your saved drafts folder is open in a new window. Select the file and then click Open.
    6. In the bar of the company at the top of the file, click on record under to save your file on your computer.

Alternatively, you can access these files by following these steps:

    1. Open the Office 2010 application you were using.
    2. Open a new file or an existing file.
    3. Click the file tab.
    4. Click Info.
    5. Click Manage Versions.
    6. Click The retrieve unsaved Documents if you're in Word 2010, recover unsaved workbooks so you are in Excel 2010 or recover unsaved presentations if you are in PowerPoint 2010.

    Hi @bj11,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see you are trying to reproduce a document for a few days there with your HP Officejet pro 8610. I'm happy to help you!

According to the user's Guideof this printer, the printer does not store documents already printed in its memory. The only way to recover an already printed document must be made on the computer.

  • How to recover photos deleted in Office home and Student 2007

Deleted some files of picture of a USB Drive - is there a way to recover them.  I have the Windows XP Office home and Student 2007 installed in my computer.  You will appreciate any assistance.  Thank you... Violeta Galvez

Have you looked in the trash?

No longer use the USB (if you continued to use it after you have removed the photos, data may be irretrievable).

Download Recuva and install it on your computer.  Then connect the USB to the computer and use Recuva to see if any of the data on the USB is recoverable.

  • Need to recover the Office 2003

We had a system crash and had to recover in the start menu (F10). The biggest problem is that our original disks and backup are who knows where, since then, we bought the Pavilion about 4 years ago. We had Office 2003 and now are not. Is there a way to recover our system Office, where it must reside "somehwhere"? We also lost all of our other documents and pictures.

No doubt the menu "Start F10" initiate a system recovery? If Yes, then what you have installed on this machine is missing. Software, images, documents, Favorites, everything.

If you have any sort of planning for regular backup in place, then I'm afraid that you have learned a very expensive lesson.

The first (and only) calculation rule is Backup, Backup, BACKUP!

Your Office 2003 NOT 'resides somewhere"on the machine, you will need to re-install from the original disc and when find you them.

Sorry to be the harbinger of bad news, but you really really need to implement a REGULAR backup strategy.

  • is there a way I could recover my photos from LR to my laptop to LR at the office?

I have some files didn't back to my hard drive. and my macbook pro must re install and my files/pictures will be gone. is there a way I could recover the photos in my LR my laptop on my desk?

So if I understand you correct, backup images and images are always in your mobile phone, and you can not access it.

Also if you think to recover images from laptop on the desk, it will be impossible, as you have the catalogue and also the images to be transferred to the office.

  • When I synced my office and personal computers, home bookmarks wiped out bookmarks from office; Office marks can be recovered?

I have a new job and desktop was a blank slate as far than go to bookmarks. I started adding new Favorites, bookmarks that were not on my computer at home and important to my work. However, I found that I needed a lot of my favorites home, so I set up the synchronization. Both computers are the Macbook Pro using the current version of Firefox (15.0.1). When I synced, the home computer bookmarks replaced - not merged with - bookmarks to the desktop computer. I need these bookmarks from office. How to make a comeback?

First of all, let's make a safe backup of all bookmark backups copy remains on your computer at home.

Open help > troubleshooting information and click the display folder.

You see a folder named bookmarkbackups? Make a copy of this file to a safe place (e.g. office). If you look in the folder, is there some who appear larger * than the newer ones? If so try to restore a bigger using the procedure described in this article: restore bookmarks from a backup or move them to another computer (see restoring backups section).

    A little luck?

Edit: I meant your desktop, in fact, but probably a good idea to perform the backup on two of them, until the synchronization works with reliability. Also, 'big' could be 'smaller' in this case.
