Recovery of disk space problems.

Whenever I run the disk cleanup on C:, the amount of available free space DECREASES immediately. Why?

I ran the Disk Defragmenter (39 hours) and it did nothing. The c: drive was 60% fragmented before and after executing it.

Windows 7. Acer Aspire laptop model KAWG0.

There is malware. Had everything cleaned. Now, the system is normal.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

  • Low disk space problem

    This PC runs Windows 7 Pro.  Its hard drive has two primary partitions: drive system (C :) and FACTORY_IMAGE (d).  The latter has a capacity of 12,083,933,760 bytes, which only 6 729 728 bytes are not used.  As a result, this warning "low disk space.  You run lack of space on FACTORY_IMAGE (d) "continues to appear every few minutes.  I'm sick and tired of this nagging fairly quickly.

    I used Windows installation partitioning to shrink C:.  However, when I tried to expand D:, the option is grayed out.  Is there a setting that I could change to stop the nagging?  It would be dangerous to use a 3 rd-party utility to expand D:?

    This PC was given without an installation disk, so I have to be careful with this recovery partition.

  • RMAN disk space problems

    Hi all, I take a daily full backup of my database. She starts however currently lacking because there is not enough disk space.

    I have set to 'RECOVER WINDOW FROM 0 DAYS' conservation strategy. If the previous backup is deleted once the new backup was successful.

    We are in the progress of the addition of disk space, but it may take some time. At the same time is it possible to delete the old backup first? Because then I should have enough disk space to take a new full backup.

    It's my RMAN script:

    RMAN > DELETE NOPROMPT OBSOLETE;

    2 > CONFIGURE MAXSETSIZE TO UNLIMITED.

    3 > CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP ON;

    4 > CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY to RECOVERY WINDOW of 0 DAYS;

    5 > CONFIGURE DEVICE TYPE DISK PARALLELISM BACKUPSET BACKUP TYPE COMPRESSED 1;

    6 > CONFIGURE the CHANNEL DEVICE TYPE DISK MAXPIECESIZE 40 G;

    7 > AS COMPRESSED BACKUPSET BACKUP

    8 > ADDITIONAL STAFF 0

    9 > CUMULATIVE

    10 > TAG FULL_Su_12_22_2013

    11 > DATABASE

    12 > INCLUDE CURRENT CONTROLFILE

    13 > MORE ARCHIVELOG DELETION entry;

    14 > DELETE NOPROMPT OBSOLETE;

    15 > "exit";

    DELETE BACKUP is a command to delete the backup. But other mentioned move your backup to another location, and then delete. If you think that you will soon get the space, then you can wait until you get the new space. You can recover your database as long as you have old data base and all the archives after the backup.

    Hello

    You have been given incorrect information on your D: Recovery partition.

    You do not change the size of the recovery partition.

    You are not except for the purposes listed below.

    He was photographed on your hard drive during the production of your computer by the manufacturer for all of these reasons.

    1. to reinstall Vista from in the case of a failure of the system, based on individuals or the keys at startup.

    F10 or Alt + F10 or F11 are a couple of different manufacturers use sequences.

    You will need to ask your manufacturer for proper sequence.

    2. to make the recovery disks on if your drive hard breaks down, so that you can then reinstall the operating system on a new hard drive.

    Also ask them how to make records.

    Your D: Recovery Drive is should not be used for backups, defragmented, etc..

    There are backups on an external hard drive.

    To resolve the problems that have arisen with the recovery D: Partition, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your computer to remove all that has been added to it.

  • Error message saying no disk space on recovery drive E

    I have a laptop Dell Inspiron which is only a few months old and I use Vista Home Premium. I constantly receive an error message indicating that the recovery E: disk space is full. I went to the computer to check the available disk space and the bar is completely RED for drive E: of recovery. I have a lot of available memory on drive C: I tried to Defrag disk and disk cleanup. Disk Cleanup says 0 bytes will be released by empty my trash. That's because my basket is empty! I deleted all temporary internet files. I did a virus scan. I tried to save recovery E: files to an external site, but could not do this. I tried to delete the files and received a warning message if I did not complete this task. I copied the files to a folder of Documents, but that solves nothing. I called Dell Support and they said something on the partition. I tried to create my backup disks, but this error seems to be the way because he won't let me do this or the other. I cleaned my images and deleted all of the videos. I did everything that I know to free up space. I don't want to disable the error message, as some have suggested. I tried previously posted questions and answers on the forum, but I am unable to find my EXACT problem. If it is there, then I don't understand computer Lingo. My laptop is only a few months old, so I haven't added a large number of files. Why is that happening and how can I solve the problem? Please help!

    Dell computers are shipped with a recovery partition you can use to restore the computer to the way it was when it was new (usually by pressing F12 when the computer starts).   The problem is not that the recovery partition is almost full.  The problem is that Windows Vista should not access that partition at all and shouldn't the user.

    To delete the partition of Windows Vista and avoid the error message, remove the drive letter:

    1. click on the Start button.
    2 type diskmgmt.msc in the Search box and press enter .
    3. click continue at the user account control prompt.
    4. when the disk management window, right-click the E: partition, click change drive letter and paths... and click Remove .
    5. click on Yes .

    To me, this looks like to "HIQASRV2139-000002 - delta.vmdk ' was created, but never used due to disk space problems. For the virtual disk is usable must exist a file descriptor "HIQASRV2139 - 000002.vmdk" too. What you can do is to stop the virtual machine (I'm sure that's not really necessary, but I recommend it for reasons of safety), then pass the "HIQASRV2139-000002 - delta.vmdk" to a folder under rename it and turn on the virtual machine again. If the virtual machine is no problem, you can delete this file.
