Reference QuickTime Movies on Windows PC?

Now that Quicktime is not a good idea on Windows, how do you manage a sequence of reference created by Quicktime Pro?  I created a couple for my site for years but the reference film (which is the type of file. MOV) can be played with Windows Media 10 built-in Quicktime.  Is there an alternative to forget all these films?

PS: For the record, here is some info from reading - me created by Quicktime which explains a bit about movies of reference for web sites.

You have exported cliffdiversolo_web using QuickTime Pro. The following information will help you publish this movie to your website.

In the same folder that the file statement HTML, QuickTime Pro has placed different versions of your movie optimized for web-delivery. Also in this issue is a reference sequence, which allows you to select the best version for various devices and your users connection speeds. By including this reference sequence in your HTML page, you can ensure video quality on your site experience.

Of the HTML page generated by the export for the Web of QuickTime Pro used javascript files function special code to call the browser plugin.

Given that most of the browser plugins are now obsolete, you need to rewrite the HTML code to conform to standards HTML 5 that requires no plugins.

Sorry... but with the .mov files, the conversion is the only solution.

Here is a way to convert online so that you won't have to

    (2) the "Input format" field should automatically
show... Let it 'Apple Quicktime (.mov)'
    as it is...

    (3) "output size" has two windows...
does not display the field on the left, "no video".
    PRESET"... leave it as what...

    (4) in the next to move to the right window
You can choose the format you want
    convert... try:

    Windows Media Video (.wmv)

    (5) on the left, click on the blue * OK button.
(sometimes the site is busy... If the conversion fails... try again)

Now... wait as the file to be converted.
    (be patient)

Once the conversion is completed, you will see:

    File converted successfully!

Your file will appear right of a little green
... left click on the file name... save it as
... appears on the left, click on the "Save" button.
Choose a folder to save in (I always download)
on my desk)... on the left, click on the "Save" button.

When the file is downloaded, you should be able
to play with Windows Media Player and it should
    be compatible with Movie maker.

    That's all! Good luck.

  • How can I play a Quicktime (.mov) file in windows media player?

My computer (Vista) downloaded my videos from my camera to the .mov format.  I have quicktime on my computer and can be read using this software.  But I want to import videos in Windows Movie Maker and Movie Maker does not recognize the .mov file.  Help, please!  I'm doing videos at home for the holidays.

    Hi Junkmendall,

Welcome on the site of Microsoft Windows Vista Community.

Some audio and video file formats are not supported in Windows Movie Maker and cannot be imported. Movie Maker is not compatible with QuickTime .mov files. However, if you have a video or audio file that is not supported, you can use a video editing software not Microsoft to convert the file into a format supported by Windows Movie Maker to perform a search online for video conversion software to find one that fits your needs (check the file formats that are supported by Window Movie Maker http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Import-video-files-pictures-and-audio-into-Windows-Movie-Maker) and then import the video file or an audio resulting in Windows Movie Maker. Some files also require you to install a codec before you can use the files in Windows Movie Maker.

IMOPRTANT NOTE: Using third-party software can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly or may lead to serious problems. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

Let me know if that does or does not work. Good luck!

    Hope it will be useful.

    Thank you and best regards,

  • Not opening not QuickTime movie files.

The video files are Adobe SpeedGrade CC Classroom in a Book, purchased and downloaded from the site Adobe Press yesterday. The latest version of QuickTime is installed, downloaded yesterday as well. I even reinstalled SpeedGrade after that I've installed QuickTime, just in case.

When the files are located in the Office of SpeedGrade, he saw not the clamp. If I load them, it gives the message: "error opening file". However, I am able to import these files to SpeedGrade via Premiere Pro, and they work fine. I will not be able to use in Classroom has Book in this way, of course, as they provide .ircp files that contain specific sequences.

There are a couple of similar posts on this problem, but the solutions have not worked for me. A post says something about inconsistent information being the cause of the problem. Fps settings are accurate for video files, according to the metadata provided by the first. Another post said that it was because of QuickTime is not installed. I have already corrected it, nothing helps. Here's a screenshot for reference.

No other QuickTime movie file won't open either. I have files from a Canon 60 d which are .mov I can't use the h.264 codec. They will open in SpeedGrade either (but work perfectly on the first). Other video (.avi) files work just fine and dandy.

Here are the specs of the computer: laptop Acer, Windows 64-bit, 8.1 i7 2.20 GHz, 12 GB of RAM, 120 GB SSD, Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 M.

The GPU is recognized by SpeedGrade.

Thanks to anyone who has an entry on this question in advance.

The problem is resolved. I think it's my duty to describe what happened, I'm sure that someone will suffer this problem again.

I was helped by the Support from Adobe via Team Viewer. They took only a few steps. The first is to activate the default Administrator account by running the command-line as administrator, and then type "net user administrator / Active: Yes" without the quotes. This enabled them to disconnect my profile and log into the admin profile. Why? I have no idea. Once, they disabled my antivirus program, Avast. All of a sudden, SpeedGrade loading QuickTime files very well. They reconnected to my profile. Avast is still disabled. Correctly loaded files.

The conclusion was that Avast was blocking QuickTime work properly with SpeedGrade somehow. Once the Team Viewer session has been closed, I opened to the top of the command line and disabled the admin with the same profile but "/ active: No.» I restarted my computer. My profile was once more the only. Avast has been fully activated. No exception has been added to Avast. SpeedGrade always loaded the files perfectly.

So, my own conclusion? I do not know. I don't know what happened behind the scenes of the computer when these measures have taken place. All I know is that, as far as things seem, all parameters are exactly the same as they were when the problem occurred. Yet, everything is in working order. So if you experience this problem and all else fails, try the following steps. Hell, maybe even just try to disable your antivirus and SpeedGrade running.

In all cases, the problem is resolved, with the support of Adobe.

  • Problem of QuickTime movies.

    Hello!

For some time, I am to be affected by the unrest with quicktime. Everything works fine until the quicktime movies are starting to show himself black, or a warning pop ups, claiming that the quicktime is corrupt. The same thing when I try to export a movie from AE or Premiere. A reboot solves the problem for a while, but the problem evently reappears. I'm runing versions the 2015 of AE, first and all renewed Mediancoder. My OS is Windows 10, and the material is an i7 2600 k, 32 GB, GTX 970. I use an exclusive SSD for projects which I work at that time, another small SSD for scratch, one for the operating system and applications and a big HDD for storage.

Any idea? Is that a malfunction of the system quicktime can be? It is very disruptive to my workflow restart the machine the both of us.

    Thank you!

N ° how do I? REF movies are just what the name implies - basically playlists in a container MOV referencing the original OMF / MXF clips. No program other than Avid tools clean have a way to create it, because it would need to be able to access the media database.

  • Is it possible to only use the keyboard to move a window on the desktop?

I have a lot of fun trying to do it all with just the keys and trackpad not.  One that I'm missing and it would be very useful would be to find a way to move windows with just the use of keys.  I expect the arrows would be involved, but to do something about the window I want to move.

I believe you can use the best tool to touch (http://www.bettertouchtool.net) to assign keyboard shortcuts to move the windows.

  • move the window app with a finger slide

    Hello

I lost a feature of my OS X (El Capitan) I really like and do not know how to bring it back. This feature allows to move a window from one space to another app just using one finger around any window title bar. He is still working on my Macbook, but not on my iMac. I guess you why. If anyone can help me.

I never heard of 'one finger '; You can set to hang out with 'slide three fingers' in system preferences - > accessibility-> mouse and Trackpad-> Trackpad Options. Perhaps by comparing the settings that you have here and those in the system-> between your two Mac Trackpad preferences you can understand what is different.

Or maybe you have a few add-on from third party that is installed on a mac, but not the other?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance

  • Satellite M30 - problem with the graphics driver and Quicktime movies

I just installed a 40 GB to 80 GB hard drive and installed all the drivers in the correct order, as indicated by toshiba. Everything works well except the used for Quicktime .mov files. All I get is audio but no image - other than a colorful blur screen!

I think I've isolated the problem to the graphics driver. Whenever I turned off / uninstall the driver dedicated for the graphics card FX 5200 GP (version 4.6.44) Quicktime files work fine. It is only when I installed the dedicated driver problems occur!

Can someone tell me why this might be?

    Hello

Do you use the graphics driver from the Toshiba driver page?

Try to use the QuickTime Alternative 1.77. In this version the codex QuickTime has been updated.
    This version uses these features:
