Registry key

root of hklm\software\microsoft\Netframework\install registry key to point to the installation location of the.Netframework

When I open windows I get this message in the center of the screen.i not netframework 2.0 charles

I guess because you're posting in a forum of Windows XP, you have Windows XP.  Note that to install .NET Framework 2.0, you must have at least Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Service Pack 3 is installed preferably.

Do you have Service Pack 3 and all Windows XP critical updates installed subsequent updated?  If Yes, read on.

Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs

Uninstall "Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2" or any other input regarding Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.  Do NOT uninstall other versions of the .NET Framework (1.0, 1.1, 3.0, 3.5).

Go to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&displaylang=en and download the Microsoft .NET Framework version 2.0 redistributable package (x 86).  For best results, disconnect from the Internet and disable your antivirus and any other antimalware real-time scanning applications before running the downloaded package.

After the .NET Framework 2.0 is installed, restart, go to Windows Update and make sure that you have all critical updates.

  • Why after an update my Norton 360 registry cleaning is a registry key not valid?

    This time was the in update for Adobe Reader, but I saw it with some other updates as well. I noticed this problem in my computer after that microsoft has passed to outlool.com. From there, I started to get the registry changes any time I open microsoft Explorer. This is the reason why I switched to firefox. My registry now remains unchanged any time I open Firefox, but it continues to be a problem sometimes when I run the updates. Normally, I check my record before and after the execution of the update. I contacted and complained to microsoft, but I never received a satisfactory answer.

    Hey Buddy,

    The exact registry key knows only Toshiba. I can tell you that the FN keys are controlled by value added and Flash Cards Support utility package.

    These two tools can be downloaded from the official website of Toshiba for the FN keys you need an additional tool and it s not just a simple registry key.

    Y at - it a registry key to check if the current user can install a windows updates? also, what registry key that is used to verify whether a user is an administrator or not. Thank you...

    There is no need to check the registry keys to see if you can install updates or not.

    You just need to be connected to an administrator account to install the Windows updates.

    You can check if you are in an administrator account by trying taks simple administrattor. For example. Try to change the time system.

    If you can change the time, you are an administrator; no other.

  • Can I remove uninstall KB of registry keys?

    Hello:

    I am under some utilities to clean my PC. I used CCleaner and TI deleted windows xp update files (files stored in C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallKB###$\). However, if I run Wise Registry Cleaner, I find that the registry keys are still kept, I mean, for example, for KB971468:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\Windows XP\SP4\KB971468]
    'Description '=' addition of seguridad para Windows XP (KB971468)'
    'InstalledDate' = ' 2010-02-13 "»
    '' =' SYSTEM InstalledBy.
    'UninstallCommand"="C:\\WINDOWS\\$NtUninstallKB971468$\\spuninst\\spuninst.exe '.
    'Type '=' Update '.

    As you can understand, UninstallCommand will point to an invalid folder (the "C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallKB971468$ has been removed by CCleaner).

    If I run Wise Registry Cleaner, I could remove the UninstallCommand key, but all the other info (InstalledBy, Type, Date, description, list of files), will be kept and seems foolish to keep incomplete information.

    So my question is: after I don't know I can delete the files to update, which is better?

    -Remove only UninstallCommand key (as suggested by Wise Registry Cleaner)

    -Remove the full entry of the tree (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\Windows XP\SP4\KB #)

    -Do nothing, although invalid information are preserved.

    Thank you!

  • try to reinstall the software HP provides registry key there is no error

    Registry problem?

    Several days ago, I uninstalled Norton Internet Security 2011 and installed AVG Internet Security 2012 on my and my portable computers wife. Today, I discovered a problem on his requiring the uninstallation and reinstallation of our HP printing software. Siena (running Windows XP Media Center edition SP3) worked as expected. However, on mine (running Windows XP Pro SP3) reinstalling the HP software stopped and could not continue. The following message appears: "Windows Installer Registry - this registry key does not exist and is required for the installation to continue. Please make sure that the registry key exists and click Retry to continue the installation. "Registry key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ {000c101c-0000-0000-c000-000000000046}.

    Two days ago I was able to install AVG so I suspect that something has happened with the HP software uninstalling.

    So, I need help and recommendations on a fix. I hope that the fix is not to charge the full operating system. If absolutely necessary I can do but this is not the preferred solution.

    First of all, the thread that I've referenced mentioned two key.  So when you checked, have you looked at a time

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ {000C101C-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}

    and its main

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ {000C101C-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} \ProgId

    If both of these keys have identical values as identified in the linked thread, run the reg file should have no effect one way or another.

    Do a system restore to a point before you changed antivirus applications is an effort worth it.  You can not, however, use system restore to uninstall and reinstall the applications.  Before your doing a system restore, uninstall AVG.  Do the system restore.  Then re-install Norton (or, better, don't reinstall Norton; in this case, make sure that you are not connected to Internet).  See this FAQ--> http://bertk.mvps.org/html/tips.html#5

    In fact, if you haven't already done so, you can run the tool to remove Norton, just to make sure that your problem is not caused by a few remaining remnant of Norton.  See https://www-secure.symantec.com/norton-support/jsp/help-solutions.jsp?lg=english&ct=united+states&docid=20080710133834EN&product=home&version=1&pvid=f-home

    Microsoft KB article you mention addresses issues to uninstall applications.  As a general rule, Norton products should be removed with the removal of the above link tool.  Installs the printer may be deleted by following the directions here or here.  The Windows Installer Cleanup utility can be very useful.  Unfortunately, Microsoft has removed this utility of its download servers because it sometimes more removed he was supposed to.  It can always be obtained from http://majorgeeks.com/Windows_Installer_CleanUp_Utility_d4459.html is a similar tool (free) Revo Uninstaller.

    Good luck.

  • How to delete the corrupted registry key

    I try to install the Excel 2010 beta, but it says Office 2003 is damaged and must be repaired or removed and will not be installed (I have several versions of Excel is installed, including 2003).

    So I tried to run a repair of Office 2003 from the Office 2003 installation, but it says:

    Error 1402. Setup cannot open the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\OptionalComponents\MSFS registry key. Make sure you have sufficient permissions to access the registry...

    I tried:

    -Deletion of the key in regedit. It won't do. FWIW, it does not make changes to it as an added value and does not remove the key from its parent.

    -Assignment of permissions for the key myself. It won't do.

    -Taking possession of the key. It does not.

    -Execution 'Free Windows Registry Repair 2.0' and do a full scan. There are lots of things to fix, but it does not solve this problem.

    -Run PSEXEC PSTOOLS of to run regedit under the system account and appropriate by the system account. It does not.

    -Execution of RegDelNull.exe and make full analysis focused on HKLM and analysis. In both cases, he found nothing to fix.

    Is there a way to make a deletion of the brute force of a registry key? What can I do?

    Thank you

    Greg

    FWIW, in case someone found this looking for an answer to the same question, you gave me the answer on answers.yahoo.com. The answer was to log on under administrator account (not just any account which is part of the Administrators group, but the account specifically named 'Administrator') and assign permissions to this account. It worked.
