Reinstall windows 7 on a repartitioned 'C' drive

Hello

I just bought HP pavilion laptop 2020se G6.

He came with pre-installed Genuine Windows 7 Home Basic 64 - bit, the hard drive C: of 445 gb, a (D) recovery of 20 GB partition and HP tools (Fat32) of 100 MB, what is hidden under the workstation.

I did 5 disks (DVDS) of recovery using 'create recovery media.

I want to reinstall Windows 7 on a C: drive fresh about 70 GB and use the Go 375 remaining (as a separate partition) for other data (music, videos, games, etc.).

Also, I like to keep the partition D: and Hp-tools (100 MB) recovery because it is...

I'd appreciate a step by step procedure if possible.

Can someone help me please

It would be so nice of you.
Thanks in advance!

How can I reinstall windows 7 after replacing the hard drive? do I have to call microsoft or I can retrieve it somehow to the old hard drive?

Well, that certainly puts a different point of view on this subject.

There are data recovery services that can recover data from disks that have suffered from various types of failures. However, they are quite expensive. Unless the data is particularly useful, it is generally not useful.

If your Windows 7 is an OEM version, installed on the computer when you bought it, the manufacturer could have a recovery disk on sale. If it was a retail copy and you always have the appropriate product/serial number, you can get a DVD of their team of parts replacement.

  • Re: Satellite Pro A300 - recovery disk will reinstall Windows OS on the new HARD drive

Hard drive of my Satellite Pro A300 failed. It has now been replaced. I ordered a recovery disk.
This will allow me to reinstall Windows Vista OS that is installed initially?

Also, I get this message "BOOTMGR MISSING". The recovery disc will fix this problem too?
    Thanks in advance!

    > I ordered a recovery disk. This will allow me to reinstall Windows Vista OS that is installed initially?
    Yes. Without a doubt.

New HARD drive is recognized correctly in the BIOS settings?
    If so avoid any problem.

Moreover, A300 works perfectly and much better with Win7 32 bit.

    Hey Buddy,

You have created the Toshiba Recovery disk? Perfect!
After Exchange of HARD drive, you need this you to install Windows 7 disc. The Toshiba Recovery disk contains an image of the factory settings, which means that you will have the factory settings on the new HARD drive after the use of the disc. You must boot from it and follow the instructions on the screen.

    > How to access password protected data after relocation?
It would be interesting to know what data you mean exactly.
Before you reinstall Windows, you must back up all data on a disk for example external HARD.

  • How to reinstall Windows XP without formatting my HARD drive?

    Hello
Firstly, sorry if there are a lot of typos in my post but I did not often speak (write) English...
I have a big problem and I would like to reinstall windows XP, but I don't want to format my HD.
When I was with Win98, I had to insert the boot disk and the Windows 98 CD and I could just reinstall windows 98!
With the Cd rescued provide my computer (Satellite A80) I can format my HD and install windows XP. Is there a solution to reinstall all windows Xp and keep the other file?

    Hello

Well, I recommend to create a second partition on the HARD drive. There you can reinstall you new version of Windows XP.
If you want to use the Toshiba Recovery CD, you must use the Expert mode to recover the operating system, because there you can choose the partition.

  • G570 - How to reinstall Windows 7 after replacing a hard drive that crashed?

    Hi all

I have a Lenovo G 570 and was very happy with it. Unfortunately, I had a hard drive crash (totally my bad, I dropped the laptop on the floor).

In any case I had to change my drive hard because I got this message: "No bootable device - insert boot disk and press any key any." I have always this message with the new hard drive which makes sense since I have to reinstall Windows 7, but the problem is that I don't have a sticker with the product key

Does this mean that the Windows product key is in the Bios? How can I get? Contact Lenovo to get a new product key and pay for it?

A big thank you to the person who will be able to help me with this, can not wait to start to use my Lenovo again.

My hard drive needs to be replaced. How can I reinstall Windows (Windows 7 home extended) with the license OEM is attached at the bottom of my PC?

    Thank you very much!

    Natalia

    Hi Natalia,

    You can do the following.

Create an installation disk yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the version exact same origin supplied with your laptop ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

    http://www.kodyaz.com/articles/how-to-activate-Windows-7-by-phone.aspx

All pilots additional and the software, you may need can be found here.

    Kind regards

  • Do I need a disc to install Windows XP with sp2 or 3 to reinstall windows on my 240 GB hard drive?

When I try to reinstall Windows XP from a CD of SP1a installation based on a 240 GB HDD I get errors of editing. I tried both the standard IBM image software supplied with the PC and Windows XP Home Edition with SP1a installation CD. I checked the hard drive and it is fine. Because of the size of the hard drive?

Installation crashes still in the phase where the machine ends with the CD and try to reboot from the hard drive. It gets to the windows image and freezes or dumps saying files are missing. How can I get my installation works.

What is interesting is that in the prior installation, he showed that win xp has been installed on the disk. Then I tried to re - install win xp - then I got this error Grub 17... I went back with the facilities and now I'm at a point where I get a message "error: unknown filesystem grub rescue >" (after the installation of ubuntu 11.04, then windows again). I don't know what to do. What I want is my xp back, I can't get ubuntu. Help, please.

    Hi ARolle,

    ·         It is reinstall drive?

Method 1: Load default BIOS (Basic Input\Output System) settings, and then restart the computer. Make sure that you have the CD drive set as first boot device. Check the settings by consulting the manual or call the manufacturer to do so.

Note: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly.

Method 2: Try to boot from the CD and see if you can start the installation.

Contact Toshiba to get more information on the type of disc you use to reinstall Windows.

  • try to reinstall windows xp on a new hard drive

My dell desktop internal hard drive crashed completely, so I can't start over. I am running windows XP (and I have the product key) that has been installed by dell, when I bought it. I have all the original disks. I intend to buy a new internal hard drive and re - install windows XP. How can I do that when I have everything I have is a product key? I made a backup of the hard drive on an external hard drive, but I don't think that I can boot from the external drive. I have no backup discs.

The best solution is to contact Dell and get a recovery disk. Otherwise will need you:

    1. buy a full copy of XP and install using the product key that follows; or

2 remove your computer to a competent local professional, who will have the right Dell XP disc to reinstall Windows. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • Reinstall Windows 7 using a USB Flash drive and an ISO image

My laptop is not an optical disc drive in order to reinstall Windows, I had to rely on the USB that I have. I downloaded an ISO image of the operating system on the Microsoft site and created a bootable USB stick using the xcopy command in command prompt. When I restarted the system and chose the USB as a boot device, nothing happened for half an hour. Then I had to reboot the PC somehow and it booted normally. Since he did not work once again, I downloaded the Windows 7 USB DVD download tool. But even the tool cannot complete the writing process, even after several attempts. So as a last attempt, I opened the folder where I had extracted all the files and ran StartCD.exe but it terminated immediately by posting "too big for memory. (BTW, I use a 8 GB flash drive) What should I do to fix this?

    Use Rufus:

The USB key must be formatted in FAT32 and use the GPT partitioning scheme. To do this, you must use Rufus, a small tool that you can download for free.

    Rufus - credit: Pete bastard/Akeo

    After installing Rufus:

    • Launch it
    • Select the ISO Image
    • Point to the file ISO for Windows 10
    • Check create a disk bootable using
    • Select GPT partitioning to EUFI firmware as the Partition scheme
    • Choose FAT32 NOT NTFS as file system
    • Make sure that your USB in the device list
    • Click Start
    • Close when you are finished
  • Impossible to reinstall Windows 7 on a new hard drive

First off apologies if this has been answered recently, I spent the 2 days on this problem and the promise that I searched and google til my fingers bleed. Basically, the situation is as follows:

-The PC tells me HDD is faulty on my Studio XPS 8000

-J' I buy the new HDD, then get out of the old and install new

-Position the disc of the PC operating system, get up to where I can click on install to start the installation of Windows 7 on the new drive

-However he says there is no device driver on the disk, I put in the drivers and Utilities disc, (which came with the PC) but still no driver of the device, even if it says disk they appear thereon

-Back to the old drive and try to make the system recovery disk - try to use USB flash drive but is not recognized, so buy dvdr discs and go through initialization and then it begins to collect files, but on many tests is not go beyond 25% full, let alone engraving on the startup disk.

-Dell Datasafe Local Backup to uninstall and reinstall but the continuous PC to freeze at "25% collection files.

So, what can I do, because my warranty is over? All I have to do is install my copy already purchased WIndows 7 on my new hard drive already bought, but I'm stumped at this point. Thanks for any help of cutting-edge :)

Oh... PS. -I am in England so I don't think I can send away from the backup disks, even if the expiry of the guarantee is not a problem.

Follow the Windows reinstallation Guide / A clean installation of Windows 7:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/

The part you get stuck on is step 6, preparation of step 8 and SATA drivers loaded during the installation of Windows.

Note that I recommend using a .iso of Digital River, which will be the installation of more up-to-date media and the use of Activation and recovery of backup for the activation of the product. Follow the step 2 (using the files at the bottom) and stage 11 b for activation of the product. It is an unofficial solution but works very well.

You can of course try to call Support technique Dell and request a Dell Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 DVD of resettlement.

I need to upgrade my hard drive a 500 GB to a 2 TB hard drive. I want to keep the old hard drive as what without having to format. I'll put it on in the case where I never need to access the data that's out there. I have the key Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit disk and license. Is it possible to just install it on the hard drive again without any license validation error or the old hard drive must be formatted to remove windows. Desktop PC. Thank you

    Hello

Legally, you must save your data > wipe this most hard > re - install your data, and then use this drive hard as you would normally use an external hard drive. namely for data only.

One license is for a single installation.

  • Reinstalling Windows 7 on a new hard drive

I can't find an answer to this question anywhere.

I own a Sony Vaio VPCL116FX running Windows 7. A few days before, without warning, a window opens, informing me that the failure of the hard drive was imminent and do a disk backup and restore immediately, so I saved all on an external hard drive. OS as Windows Image Backup. So I bought a new hard drive, installed and am ready to reinstall all my work on the new hard drive. I went into the bios and boot priority changed external hard drive, but not joy. It shouldn't be so difficult that it is becoming.

Because the computer is delivered with no recovery disc, the outside is all I have to work with. Sony there is no help, Vaio has been sold, and the only suggestion I can get from Microsoft is to contact one of the two manufacturers above.

Is there something I need to do other than the steps that I already tried to engage?

    Thank you.

You can do a system repair disk on any computer as long as it has the same number of bits as yours (32 or 64) and Win7

You will need to a blank recordable CD or DVD.  Start, all programs, Maintenance

    It takes 5 minutes

Now start your computer with this disk and you will find your way to restore from an image.
