Reinstall XP Pro on nc8230

I just reinstalled XP Pro on a nc8230.  Everything works, but in Device Manager, I got some yellow markings for Mass Storage, network controller and Simple PCI Communications.  I had a lot more but I was able to fix them.  I don't know what drivers to download for these three questions, and I wonder if they are important enough to worry.  I use the laptop to write this message, so things work ok.  Any suggestions would be helpful.

You are the very welcome.

This is your WLAN Intel card that needs the drivers installed.

That should do it.

I just reinstalled XP pro and I can't get the updates from the windows update web site. Whats up with this please help

There is no way that anyone might be able to help without more. My initial guess and it is just a guess, is that you have to update Internet Explorer .v8. Click HERE and download IE8 and install it. Try again updates once the installation is complete.

  • Accidentally deleted Windows 98 when trying to reinstall XP Pro upgrade.

I wanted just a fresh reinstall of XP Pro, so please help me with my specific problem if you can.  I was using my version of XP Pro to re-intall upgrade.  Instructions for reinstalling confused me and I inadvertently selected an option that has removed the original 98 OS during installation process.  Given that my copy of XP Pro, is to install an upgrade not a complete new OS, I can't proceed because my 98 files are gone: (...) (but perhaps not fatal?)  I stopped the process as soon as I realized that the option I chose was probably not the right, but it seems that it was too late.  Using my XP Pro upgrade cd installation could not proceed when I tried again because the original 98 OS files are now missing. :(

I got this computer set up with a legitimate 98 and XP Pro upgrade for several years.  I can't find my original of 98 (I can't find it in stock and gives me an injury so I can't dig for it, also, it could be anywhere).  So the problem is this: I need to restore my 98 operation system somehow somehow (without my cd), so I can use my XP Pro updated to get back to where I was, a work computer XP Pro.  That's all.

Is it possible to do, either by MS support (I was registered through Windows Genuine Advantage or just what it's called so I guess they can check that my BONES were and are indeed legitimate) or can they help me with another installation of 98 so I can re - install usimg my upgrade back to XP Pro? Or another solution? Somehow to restore the deleted files? Please note: I can not afford to buy anything right now, I am out of work right now, so thank you very much in advance for any suggestions and the reasons to buy Windows 7 or buy something else, but these solutions are NOT viable for me right now, but thank you again if you were going to think that.  What I really need help's suggestions as to what can be done to help me get my current system facing up and running using what I have on the spot.

I appreciate sincerely any help you can offer!

  • Reinstalled xp pro. Need to updates

Had to reinstall xp pro on an old pc.  Used - included recovery disk had xp sp1.  You want to recover up to sp3 but when I try to install sp2, I thought that I must have sp1a.  Microsoft says do not install it if I have 1 1a.  How to get back to sp3?

First of all, you need not install sp 2 in order to get MS 1 to sp 3.

The difference between sp1 and sp1a is only the removal of the Virtual Machine Java MS (which Microsoft was forced to do after losing a lawsuit filed by Sun).  So, despite the Microsoft articles that say you need sp1a in order to install sp3, it should should work perfectly for sp1.

How do you "say you" you need sp1a?  Did you go Windows Update once you have reinstalled using your recovery disk?

The following text is from an old post of MS MVP Shenan Stanley, but it is still topical advice (you can ignore analyses anti-malware if you just do the recovery and have not yet connected to the computer to the Internet):

    Suggestions:

    (1) download the full installation of SP3 file or burn the ISO download to
    CD.
    (2) ensure (as is likely) you have no spyware/malware doing a full
    Scan with SuperAntiSpyware and MalwareBytes.
    (3) CHKDSK
    (4) defragment
    (5) make sure that your drivers are up to date (from the material
respective web pages of the manufacturer).
    (6) restart the right before you try to install SP3.
    7) disconnect from the internet before installing (physically).
    (8) disable your antivirus and software anti spyware applications when you are about
    install SP3.

Some (if not all) which is covered in the links above.

Other than the "automatic updates" or the Windows Update web page - how can you

  • I need to format and reinstall XP Pro, but I don't have a cd or my key

    Product key number / reformatting

Hello, I need to format my computer and reinstall XP Pro. I don't have the XP CD that came with the computer or the product key. I have an XP CD from another computer, though. Is it possible to extract the product key from the computer before formatting and use it with the other copy of XP? I don't want to get stuck in the middle of the format!

    Thank you

www.magicaljellybean.com, download and run. This will show the product key.

Your version of the operating system is likely OEM if it came with the computer. This key will not work with the software from another computer for this reason.

You probably need to purchase a version of XP, somewhere.

  • Clean, reinstall XP Pro.

I tried to reinstall XP Pro.  I have the original installation disc, but it won't let me past the page to accept the EULA.  It is said to press F8 to accept the EULA, but when I do, nothing happens.  I tried all the other keys as well.  Nothing happens.  I have to press the ESC key to exit the process and restart.  WHAT SHOULD I DO TO ACCEPT THE EULA AND CONTINUE WITH REINSTALLATION OF XP PRO CLEAN?

Hi I bought Acrobat Pro for my pc a few years ago. now, I spent from the pc to the mac, but can't seem to reinstall Acrobat Pro. Managed to download the program, but the serial number is not recognized. Can I still use my Acrobat Pro purchased on my mac?

    probably not.

you need a platform swap (Exchange a product Adobe of a different version of the language or platform) but which is only supported for the latest versions of adobe.

You can get the upgrade pricing and exchange platforms, or use an abonnemement DC acrobat and use on both platforms.
