Reinstalling XP disk issues

I just got got off the phone with a man who has a Latitude D520 for sale that I buy until I asked if it comes with the XP reinstallation disc. He said that it is not but can get me a copy of his album, he used to install Windows on the computer, and that it would be legitimate. It's too deep for me. I thought you could only install on one machine.  If anyone knows what it says it will do and can explain it to me, I'd appreciate it.

I have a related question - the XP installation disc for my Inspiron 1100. If I had to buy the D520 (diskless) I don't think that I could use my 1100 drive if the need ever arose?

Last question, if I buy the D520 without discs, if I could make a phantom of the operating system image? I have Norton Systemworks Pro 2004 with what version of Ghost came with it. Is it difficult to do?

PS, I doubt that guy is the first owner who could get the disks in Dell, and the D520 model does not come with PC Restore.

I am not a lawyer, but I don't see a problem with the duplication of the seller of a CD protected by copyright.  If the CD he talks is the CD that was shipped with the computer, legally it is part of the computer and must be transmitted with the computer to the new owner.

With regard to the installation of the software of a such CD to the laptop, it is dependent on whether or not there is a valid COA affixed to the case.  If so, you are free to use any CD to install Dell Windows XP that contains the same version of Win XP which is indicated on the certificate of Authenticity affixed.  The license is with the machine, not the CD.

The D520 uses SATA drives, but I see no drivers for AHCI interface in the D520 downloads.  This indicates that the main card translates the SATA to IDE interface so that drivers can be used, so you will not have a problem of mass storage.  The D520 uses a PCI-e video bus, however, so the installation CD must have at least Service Pack 2 (assuming that you are installing Windows XP).

Regarding the image of the player, while I've never done, recent versions of the popular imaging programs will see and use a USB port.  This allows to clone the replacement drive mounted in a shell of USB drive.  I'm afraid that I don't know if the 2004 version has this ability.  Drive the tanks themselves generally excellent work; I usually clean install on my laptop, but I then connect the shell of the car and import all my files.

  • HP Envy 750se: reinstall Windows 10 - issue of drivers of recovery/HP

I recently bought a HP Envy 750se desktop PC.  It came with W7 Pro and I upgraded to W10 Pro.  Because of some problems I created when I transferred programs on this computer from my old computer, I now intend to do a clean reinstall of the W10 Pro.  I basically understand the generic steps I must follow to do this, but my question is what I would do (if any) regarding the HP recovery partition.  (FYI, the operating system and recovery partition are found on my SSD of 256 GB.)

I have not yet created a recovery disk... but of course I can do it.

If I do a clean reinstall of the W10 can I install HP, etc. of the partition recovery or disk drivers?  And if so, how is that done?  Does make a difference that this PC had initially W7 Pro during the creation of the recovery partition?

My main concern is that when I reinstall W10, I don't want to create unnecessary problems.

    Thanks for any help.

Because you went to 10, you can't make your recovery now disks, and access to the recovery for purposes of recovery partition is broken by the upgrade also.

10 Windows will have all the drivers.

  • Windows 7 disk issues of language

It gave me a link to download a 64 bit version of windows 7 (32-bit upgrade). But after entering my key, it gives me the possibility of two languages - Korean and french. Or that I'm talking about! I don't understand why I can't select English.  I'm sure that I bought my copy through microsoft many years ago and installs the 32-bit disk I have in English, so I don't know why my key is associated with other languages?

    What can I do here?

The best option is to perform an installation using the English-language disc if you have.

If you do not have English language recording, see instructions how to get it:

  • Need to reinstall the disk - guaranteed missed

    Hello

In 2009, I bought a computer from studio with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.  My warranty just expired, not too long ago, now my system is messed up, and I can't get a fix without a guarantee.  I can't figure out how to repair my system, and I can't simply download a 64-bit reinstall, because (long story) my system now has 32-bit windows running. (It was originally 64 bit).  The support line told me to call the hardware Department, but I can't find a number for them anywhere.  They said that they could replace the disk, if I bought another warranty plan, but the $250 was too much money for me.  Another person told me that I could just buy the CD for $15.  Can someone clear this up for me?

    Sincerely,

    Nicholas

Renew your warranty just to get a replacement drive is ridiculous - do not.

You can request one here - it's usually free (although I've heard of a tax for a small $15-20):

  • Had to reinstall issue of windows disk recovery and software

    Hi guys

I hope I posted in the right forum

A couple of days, I got a virus in police nasyt variant and so I had to reinstall windows from scratch

Regretably my recovery disks that I made did not work properly so I had to pay a lot of money for windows 7 and made a new installation

I put the software made available on this site on my laptop like dell webcam, roxio etc but my dell came installed with ms office and some other titles is it possible I can get it back without having to buy them?

I also have a recovery now, but as its been formatted partition, there nothing to advice for the implementation of a new recovery partition

Thanks for reading my question and your help is much appreciated

    Hello Haverespect,

There are a few important things that I would like to share:

All software delivered plant can be installed in my Dell downloads. You can find the software such as Roxio, Webcam Central, Acrobat Reader etc.  Please click here to follow the instructions on the screen.  My Dell download only works on Internet Explorer. You can also consult the frequently asked questions on my Dell downloads. However Microsoft Office Starter day lost cannot be re-installed as Dell maintains a copy of it.

Once the operating system is reinstalled from disks, it removes the entire score and did a new install of the operating system. So the recovery partition is lost and recovery partition is lost, we can't get it back.

Please write again for any other question.
