• Saving preset question

  I have a set of steps that I use to create a certain glance at my picture. I use a combination of filters, copying layers 3 - 4 times and styles of layer. I think I have 10 steps.

  Is there a way where I can save it as a preset, then, where if I import a picture, I have to click on the saved preset, and he made all these 10 steps for this photo.

  You can also open Microsoft Word and look at the recently used files. It should be listed in there.
  You can check under user\Documents it is usually the default folder that word saves when you n specify a location to be saved.
  If is not the default location, type word a test document open and press on save, then go to save as and see where is the default save location.

  Right-click on the icon for one of your saved Word documents (which I assume are named somefilename.doc), and then select open with > choose program.  Select the word in the list of programs, check the box "Always use this program to open this kind of file" and click OK.

• Where a file be saved if you open a MS Word doc as an attachment and the only select Save vice save under?

  I just changed a MS Word file that I sent to myself. Dialog box asks if you want to open or save. I chose open. I'm making updates and proceed to select save ICON (disk). I wanted to send the doc after update, but MSN does not allow to download an open file. I click save ICON new and closed the file, but when I looked for the file, it was not available. Y at - it a temporary area so that the file is saved.

  If you have an attachment to the document that you want to edit, save the attachment to your HARD disk first and then change it. After starting change it, choose Save as and you keep moving, click on save or Ctrl + S to update the changes, once again this made, set the document.

• removed the stick without saving, now "cannot open".

  I removed my memory stick in a race and I forgot to save it.  Now I am panicking because I worked one week on the file now "cannot be opened.

  I'm afraid there is bad news in England tonight.

  It is quite possible to damage, a USB key which will eject not correctly and abruptly removed as you did. When you do that at the request of Pages which is its continuously (after the first recorded) on the USB, you interrupt a write operation and cause a file corruption.

  The bad news is that due to the internal structure of a v5 Pages document, once it is damaged, there no recovery of its content. Except, that the document was once on your boot drive and took a Time Machine backup, or there's another copy somewhere. You can restore the old version. If you have just created, updated this document on the USB key, then ouch.

  You can try this USB mounting and then from Launchpad: others: disk utility, click on the USB stick in the left panel and then click the first aid in the utility disc toolbar. Once this is done, select the name of the device (for example, Sandisk blah blah) and in the menu file: eject. Quit disk utility.

  Mount your USB stick again and see if you can open this document with Pages or preview Pages. Faint hope, but maybe just...

  It seems to come down to two choices, your OEM recovery DVD is not good, or a hardware problem.

  Since you seem to have a bit of knowledge about computers, you could lke to try this for that data.

  Remove the hard drive and put it in a hard drive USB enclosure and see if you can read it in the new computer.

  Or make and use a Knoppix disk to read the drive

  But Knoppix works only if the material is OK

  It is a single block OS on the drive that uses your material and is not installed on the hard disk.

  Open Games Explorer - by clicking on start, then on games.  Spider right-click and select parts saved, that will open the file parts saved, where you can go to and then delete the save game in question.
