Unfortunately, the Microsoft Support only that I can't find on the web is this forum as it seems to discuss or send someone to the technical support Microsoft costs £46!  Being a student I can't afford it.

Can someone help me with this problem at all?

    Hello

If the system files are corrupted, the internal analysis will repair it. As I said, it is more likely that they are currently poorly identified, and if they are not corrupt, you should ignore all messages from McAfee.

About AV, it, software with Symantec, is usually the most problematic. Bulky and awkward, she often prevents performance with the by default too aggressive settings. There are many, many available that work with a good system better. Turn to programs like kaspersky, avast, nod32, avg and mse as alternative. When you check the paths in the boot.ini file, and the recovery console is installed, you will always get an error message indicating that the startup path is not valid.

If the recovery console is actually corrupted just to uninstall, you can reinstall or burn a cd with the recovery console.

go here for instructions on deleting the recovery console.

Here's how to make a bootable xp recovery console cd

    Courtesy of JoseIbarra

You need start by booting in XP using a CD Recovery Console, you can do (no XP media required) and run a chkdsk with error correction command enough times until it is clean and if it does not, you can create a new boot.ini file (this is usually one of two things).

    Here's how:

Use the XP Recovery Console to check the file system on your HARD drive and fix the problems and then try to start your system - this may be all you need to do.  Or, you are welcome to just start trying things that might work.

Boot into the Recovery Console Windows using an XP bootable installation CD.

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget what you have (no XP media required).

This is not the same as recovery disks that might have come with the acquisition of the system store.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    RC. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.thecomputerparamedic.com/?p=8    (courtesy of Daavee)

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

When you install ImgBurn, DO NOT install the Ask toolbar.

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient. If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

  • How can I repair file DBX corrupted outlook express.

2 GB of data is available canned Inbox.dbx, but because of the corrupt header files dbx or any other problem, I'm not able to see the mails.

    Kindly help.

Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :
    http://www.insideoe.com/FAQs/why.htm#compact

    http://www.insideoe.com/problems/bugs.htm#mailgone

    About file Corruption:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/IE/community/columns/filecorruption.mspx

    Recovery tools:

If you use XP/SP2 or SP3, and are fully patched, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:

DBXpress run in extract disc Mode is the best chance to recover messages:
    http://www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/default.aspx

    And see:
    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4

A general warning to help avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

After coming back to Windows 7 pro to windows 10 I'm not long able to back up my computer.  I get an error message saying: the file is corrupt or has been tampered with.  Error code is 0 X 80041321.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Original title: backup Windows 7

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I would say first of all allows you to check if the Volume Shadow Copy service is running.

    1. click on Start, type Services in start search. When the page is open, find shadow copy Volume service.

    2. right clickon the Volume Shadow Copy service (VSS) and check whether it is started.

    3. If it is stopped, select Start or restart.

Check if you are able to backup.

Step 2: If you have installed a third-party security software, then try to temporarily disable the security software and check what is happening.

Step 3: You can also try to remove the task from the location:

    C:\Windows\System32\Tasks

How to find which task is damaged or altered.

    3. click on Start; Search type cmd in the list on the start menu, programs, right click on cmd and run as administrator.
    4. now run the following command

    schtasks/query | findstr /i

    Search:

ERROR: the task image is damaged or has been tampered with.
ERROR: task cannot be loaded: the task name

Find the name of the task, try deleting the task name, and then try to recreate.

See the link below that solves your problem.

    http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/itprovistaapps/thread/dcb0fb2b-d1e3-4562-823f-cee16bfa4945

    1. click on Start, type Task Scheduler in the start search box, and then click Task Scheduler in the list programs.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    2. in the Actions of the Task Scheduler dialog box, click on create a new task.

Check whether the problem is resolved.

Hope this information is useful. Let us know if you need more help, we will be happy to help you.

  • How to speed up the removal of the files?

Original title: search search index indexing re-indexing re-index research research research service troubleshooting troubleshooting

In windows 7 Professional 64-bit. How to speed up the removal of the files. It takes 1.5 to 3.5 minutes to remove a file

Before I give you a sensible answer in the following paragraphs, why don't you try not to create a new admin user account & try that.  I have absolutely no logic behind this suggestion, it's just that I've seen some strange symptoms in the other forum posts that have later been attributed to user profile problems and the test would take less than the time of deleting a single file without talking about relocation.

Resettlement is a pain in the neck, so anything that resolves things without this point is worth.  Mine took me several days more sorting over several problems of McAfee.

If the Dell disk is labeled 'réinstallation DVD' then he will do what is necessary because this is a full version of a Windows DVD installation [this is also what I have for them and that I used recently to reinstall from scratch].  Anyway, boot it from the disc only is not a destructive or dangerous act then you might try & see if the menus & options for the "repair installation" appear or not.  Just escape before you tell it to do anything then use again when you've prepared everything [backups, etc.].

Your safe mode test confirms that Windows is at fault and not a third-party on your PC application.  The result of the safe mode is in fact a good result because this means that when you set Windows & malicious programs, you should be fine.

Using the SpiritX AV cleaning tips will help you see if the malware is what corrupted Windows or if Windows comes to decide absolutely bloody & wreck itself.  If it is malware, so you still need to clean things up before the relocation to ensure that malicious software fails to cling to something during this relocation [I am simply repeating SpiritX here as I know nothing].

It occurs to me that this Exchange did not once mention the Dell Factory Image Restore Partition.  This procedure is a little easier than relocation complete & it preserves the Dell-bundled utilties.  This is in essence an automatic & custom reinstall.  Before you begin this or even nothing else, in which case Dell did he not bring to your attention, you might not realize that Dell DataSafe Local Backup has a facility to make a USB / backup DVDR the Dell Factory restore partition .  This means you would retain the possibility to make a Dell factory restore in the future what you did with the hard drive in the meantime.  A disadvantage is that it would permanently replace the partitions that you have set up yourself [for Windows XP Mode or any other purpose] it really means return to the State wherever it was when you first opened the box.  My factory restore USB is 6.4 GB [Home Premium x 64 edition], but yours could be bigger - they advised me to use a 16 GB USB DRIVE as it was the size of the partition itself, then you can check the size to decide what USB can be required.

I noticed that you talked to start in F8 for the repair menu or using a boot of the system repair disc. I guess you tried or had Dell try this for you.

    Good luck & patience.

"The Setup files are corrupted. You can buy a new copy of the program"Hi, I get this message on my desk. I am running w/7-Ultamate with 8 GB of ram and a 650 GB hd. Any idea on how to fix this? I wake up in the morning and there are at least a dozen of the error messages.
    Thanks Jim

Original title: the Setup files are corrupted

    Hello

    1. What is the full/exact error message?
    2. When you receive this error message?

    Follow the steps.

    Method 1
Start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists, if the question does not persist then perform the clean boot and check if the problem resolves.

    Step 1
Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed. Please click the below mentioned link.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Step 2
Put the computer in a clean boot state to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: After you have performed the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow step 7 the link to start the computer to a Normal startup mode.

Perform the virus scan and make sure that your computer is virus-free.

    Method 2:
    Run Microsoft Online Scanner.
The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.
    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.
Important: When performing analysis on the hard drive if bad sectors are found on the hard drive when parsing tent repair this sector if all available on which data can be lost.

Also, make sure that you have the latest update of the software antivirus installed on your computer, so that it works correctly.

Also run a scan complete with Microsoft Security Essentials, check out the link.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/products/security-essentials

    s,

Whenever you close Illy, the current preferences (which may have been changed while you worked on files) are recorded, and every time that you start Illy, these preferences will be used.

Usually, corruption of preference probably appears randomly, caused by the operating system, but if something in your files to change preferences to something that is not viable, you will get an error like this.

You can press Cmd + Option + shift during startup, which will replace the current preferences with the default values, and no doubt you you get rid of the error message. It is probably not a cure, however.

If the error is persistent, the cure would be to get rid of things that are implicated in the files you are editing.

It is possible that your antivirus software is corrupt downloaded files or otherwise interfere with the download of files by Firefox.

Try disabling analysis in real time (live) files in your software anti-virus temporarily to see if that makes working download.

See "Antivirus disable in Firefox preferences - Windows."
