Remove a friend from Facebook blocked people app

For some reason, a person who has used to be my friend on Facebook, but has been blocked for a long time appears as a contact in the people application. I tried to remove this person from the people app but failed because:

(1) there is no option to delete in the bar at the bottom (as it was added through Facebook).

(2) I can not unfriend him on Facebook that he's been blocked for months already!

Help, please! I'll be sticking with this person to always just because there used to be my friend on Facebook one volume long ago?

This question makes me not want to use the people application, and it's a shame.

People app stores no information, just to call the services connected (like Twitter or Facebook) and a list of names.  If facebook sends this name, then the people app will show.

Make sure you 'a friend' the person before you block them.  If they keep appearing in your list of facebook, you will need to contact Facebook support.

    Repro:

    Hi Jason,

When you pin a person to your start screen, the profile picture of this person and their Facebook status updates and Tweets will appear as a tile at the start. Press or click on the tile to join their contact information. You can then quickly send them an SMS or an email or call, chat, or get a Skype video call with them.

I suggest you try the steps from the following link on how to add/remove from Favorites of people app.

Help people app (Pin people and Add/Remove Favorites)
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-CA/Windows-8/people-app-FAQ

If the problem persists, then I suggest you to try the following steps.

    1. to start, press or click on Mail app;
    2. press or click the person you want to remove from Favorites.
    3. press or click Favorites. When you return to the home page of the mail app, you will see more this person in your Favorites list.

I hope this helps. Let us know if you have other problems with Windows in the future.

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: first of all, remove the homegroup, follow this link. Homegroup: frequently asked questions

Method 2: You can run the troubleshooter in homegroup of the link and check.

I'm probably missing something, but I can't find a way to remove contacts from people on my Surface!

If the Remove button is unavailable, contact probably comes from an account that you have added (Facebook or Twitter).

You can remove an account - but not people to one account. This FAQ tells you how to remove accounts:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/people-FAQ

I hope that the groups are coming to the people app - as on Windows Phone. Then, you could group the contacts you care together in groups such as the friends and family (and PIN groups at the start screen).

It is possible that you clicked the 'Block Images' item in the context menu by attempting to save an image.
Check the image exceptions: Tools > Options > content: Load Images: Exceptions - see the web content, pop-ups, fonts and language settings

A way to see what images are blocked is to click on the favicon (Site ID icon) on the left side of the address bar.
Click on the "More information" button opens the Security tab of the "Page Info" window (also accessible via "tools > Page Info").
Go to the tab Media of this "Page Info" window.
Select the first image and scroll though the list with the arrow pointing downwards.
If an image in the list is grayed out and there is a check mark in the box "block Images of..." and remove this mark to unlock the images from this area.

  • Windows 8 people app does not connect to my Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn

My app Windows 8 people will not connect on my Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn (all the social networks I joined).

    Details:

Try to connect within the people app, and there are no errors, just get a synchronization «...» ", but nothing happens

I can see my Facebook photos in the photos app

My login account is my hotmail, not the local account account

My wife has a separate profile (also hotmail) and has no problem with the integration of the people/Social site

    Performed troubleshooting:

Removed all accounts linked and added the

Uninstalled/reinstalled people (and all associated applications) (after you have reinstalled the application, that it has been connected for about 5 minutes.)

account type changed to level local and back to hotmail

I bought this OS mainly for this function, if it does not work I need to talk to a refund (I'm willing to help out and try the suggestions, but it must work or go...)?

It seems to have solved the problem...

I removed all the social sites linked from my profile and the value of my account at the local level.  Then add a new user using my Hotmail address.  Connected, add accounts to my profile and people connects now to them!  Now, I just hope it remains connected...

  • How people get viruses from Facebook and how to avoid it?

I wondered how people get virus from Facebook, what are the best way to avoid these, and what are the symptoms of these?

    Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers Ted site.

The only way you can get a virus from Facebook is by clicking on a bad link. Be always careful with links on which you click, especially of foreigners who are not your friend on Facebook. If you find a link TinyURL (not a bit.ly link), copy (click the link, press Ctrl + C) then paste (click on the address bar, then press Ctrl + V), but add "Preview". (without the quotes, including the period) before the rest of the link. Then, you can see a preview of where you're going. After that, you can continue or go back.

  • People app can't add Twitter, Facebook adds and other fine

    Hello

I'm at my wit's end, and I hope that someone in the Windows 8 community can help me.  Here's the context:

I already had my application of people connected with my Facebook accounts and Twitter on my old account Live.  I created a new account to Outlook.com, proceeded to add it as a user on my PC under Windows 8 and then registered in so that I could connect my Facebook and Twitter accounts for people App.  Immediately, the connection Twitter - after clicking "Allow application" - produces an error message "Unable to connect to service" on Windows 8, but on the list of allowed applications, Windows 8 Twitter is listed.
Facebook and others are very well connected.
I have tried several things to get Twitter to connect, including:

-Deletion of all my apps connected both my old account Live AND my new Outlook.com account and then add just my while Outlook.com account that logged on to Windows.
    -Repair of the MetroUI
-Uninstalling and then re-installing People, mail, calendar, etc apps.
-Back to zero (not just refreshing) my installation of Windows 8
... and nothing seems to work.  I keep trying to add my Twitter account without success - I get prompt approval, connected to Twitter, click "allow" and then redirected to an error message "Unable to connect to the service" Windows 8 - but Twitter shows that approval has been granted.
Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this problem?  Everything that I might be able to do to solve this problem?  It is a new installation of Windows 8 Pro with NO other apps installed.
    Thank you very much

I just want to close the loop on that and let people know a workaround on how I managed to solve this problem.  First of all, until I do it, I just want to thank Microsoft Support to work with me on this subject for more than three hours on the phone before concluding that the problem was entirely at the end of Twitter.  In short, it is a known problem with a small subset of Twitter accounts and only Twitter can really solve this solution in "resetting" your account.

Second, it must be clear that the problem is corrupt the credentials of the API from your Twitter account, which cannot be interpreted by the shell of Microsoft Services.
    I corrected it as follows:
1 has created a new Twitter account.
2 changed my Twitter handle on my old Twitter account to a placeholder.
    3. to change the name on my new Twitter account to the previous name, which was my old Twitter account.
4 connected the new Twitter account to my Microsoft Services.
    5. related former Twitter account, on behalf of the placeholder, Microsoft Services.
6 unplug the two Twitter accounts.
7 rename the new Twitter account to another name, that you don't care, in order to free the name that you care.
8 retrieve the former name of Twitter (original) with your original Twitter account.
    9. connect the original Twitter account to the Microsoft Services.
And in fact.  This approach above worked for me; I don't know if the reset user name changes or refresh the Twitter API key assigned to an individual account, but I was finally able to connect the accounts after that I had made the change of name.
    Good luck!
  • How can I remove non Skype contacts of people app?

I took off Skype and Microsoft account about 4 months ago, but the old Skype contacts remained in Outlook contacts and in the people application.
I can't delete this contacts: "impossible to remove completely. Some of this contact info comes from another service. You need to remove the contact there to prevent it from appearing here. ».
In accordance with 'People', showing this: 'connected to Skype.
I tried to connect my MS account on another Skype account, looks good, but in the list of contacts, nothing has changed.
I deleted all the contacts from the old Skype account, but nothing has changed in the Outlook contacts list.
How can I remove non Skype contacts of people app? Or who can delete the contacts and untie my MS and Skype accounts permanently?
