I have more than 3000 files & folders in the path: Users\my name\local\temp

    By definition, this folder should contain only the elements you don't need.  If I understand correctly, this temporary folder is a place where temporary files are stored during program facilities and the facilities.  However, I have seen references other sites to help saying some programs can store folders and files.

    I do my own temporary file elsewhere, name it accordingly and move all the files in the temp folder to the new folder. Use your computer normally for a while, and if nothing complains about missing files, you have a good indication that none of the moved files are important and should be safe to delete.

    CCleaner is a very good tool for the removal of temporary files, simply use it to remove temporary files, do not use the cleaning of recording functions.  Registry cleaning is mainly a wasted effort and it causes more harm than good.  You can get CCleaner here: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

    Hi Reasman,

    Welcome to the Microsoft answers site!

    To clear pending files, select the files/folders in the 'Files to add to the CD/DVD' box and press DELETE. However, if you want to delete all files, click the CD/DVD drive and select 'Clear the staging area' from the context menu.

    You can manually delete the files that are stored in the following location:

    %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\CD Burning folder

  • How to remove temporary files in FF?

    Before moving to FF, I have used IE for my browser. When he slowed down, there was an option to remove the temporary files. Usually, that solved the problem. I don't understand how to do this in FF. Is there a way to do this?

    Thank you cjake

    Temporary Internet files are called the "cache" in Firefox. The cache should not affect performance in Firefox, but just to be sure, here how to remove:

    1. Click the Firefox button
    2. Click on Options
    3. Click on the Advanced section
    4. In the Advanced tab, click the network tab
    5. Click the clear now button beside the sentence that shows how much space your cache hard drive back.

    However, you can also take a look at this article if Firefox is a bit slow:

  • Is this ok to remove temporary files with the disk cleanup?

    as I checked, temporary files takes about 30GB of space on my drive. I am currently using windows 7 Home Basic. I'm trying to free up some space on my laptop coz, it's been slow lately. It will improve the performance of my laptop? Thank you! responses are much appreciated.

    'about 30 GB of my disk space "

    It's a bunch of temporary files. Even 3 GB would be enormously, but yes, you can leave

    Disk cleanup deletes some Temp files it wishes. Cannot remove files that are used.

    Disk Cleanup is actually rather conservative in what it removes. I often deleted a large number of

    Disk Cleanup files left behind.

    Update of Windows and the service pack files may use a lot of space. Especially if disk cleanup

    has not been executed on a regular basis.

    Disk Cleanup can also remove these files, but if there are recent updates, it may be safer to wait

    you know that they cause no problem.

    If you haven't defraged the HARD drive for a while, doing so should also help speed things up.

  • Remove temporary files Photoshop CC (Windows 7)

    I found a bunch of discussions/websites on the temporary files, but they are either on previous versions of Photoshop for over 5 years so I don't know if they are still relevant or that they don't answer my questions. I create a new thread to make sure I have good things.

    1) Where are the temporary files generated by CC in Photoshop? This is the " " "C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp" folder? "

    2) what files in this folder are produced by CC in Photoshop? It's all files ending in .tmp or only those who have a certain prefix (like "~ ps")? Mine are some tracking numbers for the .tmp extension. Some are files, other files. Which ones can be deleted safely?

    I thought that the normal behavior that temporary files written to the disk to work are purged after termination of the application, unless the software (or computer) goes down, that "cuts" the temporary files that were made at the time, allowing them to hang out regardless of closing and even Purge will not affect the. These are the files that I want to delete.

    My Photoshop CC collapsed, but I had a few Mid-work failures of current as well as the computer crashes here and there and never made any cleanup after these things. The computer is freshly started now and Photoshop is not started, the files in this folder that relate to Photoshop so should be sure to get rid of, right?

    Disk of my work is my hard disk MBR. Not have performance problems. My Photoshop CC works very well (in the measure of not slow or get crashes/errors anyway). I just want to make sure I know how to manually get rid of Photoshop generates unnecessary files that might still be floating there instead of function of software to do.

    Thank you!

    No, you're OK because the TEMP files are only used to contain information about the files that you are currently editing. When you save the file, the file is complete in the backup, and you haven't needed anything that anyone else.

    I read (don't know if it's true) that Photoshop cleans the TEMP files each time that it starts, so it will never a plus. But it's unusual, most applications leave a lot behind and cleaning litter is a good thing. My rule is

    * reset

    * Look at TEMP

    * Sort by date

    * Remove any more old than restarting.

  • How to remove temporary files from Photoshop?

    I use Mac a friend and in Photoshop, from time to time he always tells me that the scratch disk is almost full and cannot perform actions until I get rid of things on the computer. I delete the files, but after a while he continues to to - I would rather just delete temporary files from Photoshop instead of files of my friend. But I was not able to find any where - where is this folder? or what I should enter in a search?

    You don't need to do it manually.

    You can clear the scratch disk:

    Edit-Purge-All

    You will lose your history if you do this (all cancellations).

    Basically you run of space on the drive system - not a good situation. I would like to talk to your friend to check maybe some files and then remove them. Or buy a firewire drive and use it as a scratch disk.

    Do not delete the files from your friend if you want to stay friends.
