  The latest version of GarageBand is GarageBand 10.1.2 the oldest GarageBand 11 is no longer sold by Apple.  GarageBand 11 is actually GarageBand 6.0.5.  If you absolutely need to buy it, you can buy it as part of iLife 11 at Amazon or eBay. Then update by using the download page of the Apple to version 6.0.5 support.

  You need GarageBand 6.0.5 If you want to create a podcast, or if you want to create sampler instruments custom from samples of the sound effect.

  You cannot delete the project file Adobe watermark the first 14 elements (or other) until you purchase the program.

  And, impossible to remove the watermark from Adobe to an export from the project even tryout file after purchase... the program that applies to export to file, but also to burn on the product.

  If I move the Garage Band to the trash to uninstall will win the most space on my hard drive? I don't want to trash something that the MacBook needs to work properly.

  GarageBand is installed separately. You can remove it, if you do not want to use it.

  Most of the necessary storage for GarageBand is installed outside of the application - the library of loops and sound library.  These elements are required by the logic and Mainstage, if you use these applications. Apple Loops loops are also used by iMovie (iLife, sound effects).

  See these additional files:

  • / Library/Application Support/GarageBand.
  • / Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple /.

  Make a backup copy of anything that you unstall, before you delete it, so you can put it back, if need be.

• Problem with Garage band

  I m using Garage Band in my Macbook pro OS X 10.9.5. When I record my voice through microphone 2i2 Focusrite Studio, I would share the mono voice as well to the left and right channels, in order to emulate stereo sound. Earlier, I did this, but then I updated the Garage Band version 10.1.0. Now the voice is recorded on one channel only, and I can't find any way to change that.

  Can someone help me?

  If you record your voice as mono, you can use the commands to track pan place somewhere on the base stereo, left or right.

  Im trying to use Garage band to send a midi signal to my keyboard (a Roland FP4) - via USB - so that I can then record the audio using another machine.

  But I can't seem to find a way to do it.  I record midi from the keyboard of the machine (a macbook), but not the other way around.

  GarageBand only supports midi-in, no midi-out.

  Why not "share" Garage Band as mp3 with iTunes 10.1.0 regardless of the import settings? iTunes is configured to import into the mp3 format, yet each importation of Garage Band since update last week comes as AAFC and must then be converted to mp3.

  Use "share > song on the record" in GarageBand and button and select the "MP3". Then import the exported to iTunes MP3.

• Whine of high ground by speakers when using the logic or Garage Band

  Yesterday, I downloaded and installed Logic Pro. During the last part of the installation process my speakers started to whine. It is not very strong, but quite noticeable and irritating. I use these speakers (Alesis M1 Active 520) for years and have never had this problem.

  When I restart, before launching logic, the speakers are silent - which means that there is no groan even when the speakers are turned at full volume. Logic Pro is launched as soon as the whining begins.

  When I go in the preferences in the logic and change the parameters of the device, for example I pass the entrance 'none', the whine disappear momentarily while the changes are applied, then it returns a few seconds later. The only way I can get the groan to stop is to choose one output other than "USB Audio Codec" - which then of course I hear nothing of logic, except through the Mac Mini, built in speaker, other sounds play through speakers normally without any annoying groan.

  Logic Pro to quit smoking will also stop the whine.

  Reminder, my speakers will only commit the groan Logic Pro is running. The moan is noticeable when the speaker (speaker button) is set to a level higher than 30%. I normally set it to about 50-60%.

  I just opened Garage Band and it has the same problem. Final Cut Pro X (and any other programs that I use) but do not.

  Looks like you have found your comments from your Audio input... maybe the built in Mic?

  That switch off in the preferences Audio Logic... by choosing a different input audio and see if that fixes it.

• How to save files to the CD format/s drive Garage Band

  While scanning the records of vinyl LP's, I want to save them in a format that will play on a common CD player (stereo, players car, string etc.)  Is there a way to Garage Band for this?  I found its default value of the .aif format that is not compatible with them.  Otherwise, there are apps that convert .aif, .wav, etc.?  I use OS x v10.8.5.

  When you bounce the files analyzed in GarageBAnd, use the option shares to record the song on iTunes.  Once the song in iTunes, you can use iTunes to burn an audio CD.  And if you have iTunes value for import using the WAV encoder (in iTunes > Preferences > import settings), then you will be able to export the song on iTunes in the WAV format.

  I use Garage Band to Yosemite 10.1.0 and cannot find a way to "split" a song.  A few years ago, I used the old version of Garage Band to create my own ringtones and change what must I liked (removal of long intros, repeat the chorus).   It works in the same way it had in the previous version:

  Select the regon

  Drag the playhead to the point in the timeline panel and press ⌘ - t (or use the menuItem "split regions to the point of reading")

  What version if GarageBand do you have on older machines? If any version of GarageBand 11, use the installer you have (iLife 11, or the original system - the second disc with apps grouped installation media) to install an early version of GarageBand. You will probably see a warning that the certificate is no longer valid.  Set your Mac to 2011 date, or the date that the installers were released. Then you should be able to run them.
