remove the malfunctioning keys

I use a Compaq laptop with Windows 7.  I have a variety of problems with the DELETE key:
1 WORD 2000: delete the words, but he leaves behind a period.
2 EXCEL 2000: removes the contents of a cell, leaving again a period.  I can't delete the contents of a selected block of cells.
3 POWERPOINT 2003: cannot delete anything.
4 THUNDERBIRD and this question: as in (1) above.

I tried to reload Windows 7 and Office 2000 without modification.

I would like suggestions.

Hello

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.
Can you explain the ambiguity?
Microsoft Word 2000, Excel 2000, and Powerpoint 2003.
The version conflict may raise the question. Try to use all the components of the same version.
In addition, the error comes in Notepad or when changing the name of files in Explorer?

  • Huawei has installed a malware during the installation of the drivers for the wireless modem: tips to remove the registry keys?

    Huawei sd usb storage

Applies to: Windows | Windows Vista | Hardware and drivers

A month before, I let a co-worker install a modem Wireless USB as Huawei to use my laptop somewhere without wifi service.  Subsequently, I uninstalled the software drivers because I don't think I'll ever use this modem again.

Now, I noticed that there are several registry keys for different devices of e/s as:
    Huawei_sd_storage_usb
    and
    Huawei_some other drive type

None of these registry keys can be deleted, I get an error saying that "year error occurred during an attempt to delete the key.  Same thing if I try to write data in the registry key.  This behavior resembles a persistent virus and not a register legitimate supporting a legitimate PnP device.

I then rebooted in safe MODE, thinking which should pick up anything the malware is hung.  No go, same thing, cannot remove the key and cannot modify the data in the key.

None of the malware scanners were able to detect this, including:
    Paid last AVG
    Windows Defender
    Microsoft Security Essential
    Spybot S & D latest
    Malware Microsoft Fixit

I don't trust Huawei, and what look like these keys are to monitor my laptops I/O activities through any player or the USB port.

I'm moving your question on the forum of Windows for material and the Drivers. These are the registry keys related to the legitimate drivers provided by the manufacturer of the device and are not related to malware.

Note, however, that you have an overload of running security software and some should be deleted. If you use Microsoft Security Essentials, you must disable Windows Defender in Vista and AVG should be removed, preferably using the AVG removal tool. I have no idea what is the Microsoft Malware Fixit.

You should never have more than one security product installed on the PC, providing active protection / scan. This can cause performance problems, system instability and may adversely affect the effectiveness of these two products to provide protection.

  • Periodically remove the registry keys with the Task Scheduler?

I wonder if it is possible to create a batch script or similar small program to periodically delete the registry keys, specifically:

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\TrayNotify]
    "PastIconsStream".

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\TrayNotify]
    "IconStreams".

A little history on why I want to do this:

My computer is configured to dual boot (Vista and Fedora Linux), with a score of shared data.  I also use Dropbox for a group of records.  It complicates things with a system dual boot because the folder name is different in each system (vs My Dropbox Dropbox).  I worked around this by creating hubs and symbolic links in each operating system of 'real' folders to default Dropbox folders as appropriate.

This works as expected. The only problem is that Windows Dropbox does not monitor files for changes and checks only when the program starts.  To work around this problem, I created a small script that kills Dropbox and scheduled to run every half hour using the Scheduler of tasks, followed by a task to start Dropbox.

The only problem with this is that over time I find myself with hundreds of copies of the Dropbox icon in the status bar Notification area.  I found some instructions to reset the cache of the icon, which is to remove the two above mentioned registry keys and restart the Explorer.  So my question (finally!) is really about if there is a way to automatically reset it one or twice a day, rather than manually deleting the key each time that I remember.

Of course, if there is a better/more way to deal with this, I'm happy to hear about it!

    Hi Mander,.

Editing the registry, especially using a batch file and the Planner is, in my opinion, a little dangerous. After all, a bad move a your system registry key could easily be paralyzed.

I don't really know if my suggestion would be to use or not, but it's worth a try. There is a (free) third-party application called CCleanerwww.ccleaner.com it effectively removes temporary internet files, history, cookies, index.dat file and a host of other things too. An option available in the "Advanced" tab Windows section is to clear the "tray notification cache. Do you think that this is likely to help solve your problem without needing to run a batch file? It's only a suggestion like the registry rated - is not my field, but, like I said the app will costs you nothing and it is certainly worth giving it a try. It can do what you want it to do. Just a suggestion!

  • Remove the malfunctioning of the page

I have built a number of entry forms with pages admin PHP to display the data and remove the script pages server that deletes entries. These remove links work correctly on all websites except mine! When I click on the link delete I get a blank page with the URL:

    http://turtlerockstudiomarketing.com/TRSMdelete.php?ID=15

Visit these pages if you think that you can understand. They are currently secure. There must be something stupid, right?

    http://turtlerockstudiomarketing.com/TRSMadmin.php

    http://turtlerockstudiomarketing.com/TRSMdelete.php

If you right-click on this page and view the source code, you will see that it contains the HTML code of the page. This means that it loads correctly. Returning to your previous posts, it is now obvious why it doesn't work. PHP is a language that is case-sensitive. The example URL you gave use id in lowercase, but the code in your server behavior delete record is looking for ID in uppercase.

Change the link Remove to use capital letters or change the server behavior delete record to use lower case, and it should work.

  • How do I remove the USB key in Windows 7

I just upgraded from Vista x 64 to Windows 7 Home Premium x 64. All right, as far as I can tell, but I don't see any way to stop or remove a USB HDD. When I am using a flash drive, the context menu offers the possibility to "Eject", but this option does not appear for USB drives. What Miss me?

The icon 'Remove hardware safely' is available for USB drives, too. It mine, shows anyway. You probably just hid it. Win7 does not display the default icon more.

    Hello Janette,

Welcome to the community of Sony.

The EXT of the Blu - ray player Jack is used to connect a USB FlashDrive as a local storage device. This USB key is required to take advantage of content (such as BONUSVIEW/BD-LIVE) on certain Blu - ray Disc titles. The EXT socket cannot be used to play media files from a USB key.

    Hello

some keys on my keyboard Z830 keyboard becomes sticky over time.

Is it possible to remove the individual keys, try to clean and put the key in, or if the key is stuck?

I wouldn't replace the entire keyboard, as most of the keys still works very well.

The main caps are removable. But I'm not quite sure if caps cleaning would solve the thorny issue of key m.

On Youtube, you can find some interesting videos, how to remove these key plugs and clean the area under the caps.

  • Remove old csi keys and reinstall the new

    Hello

I bought *.csi of files and install there a month, but a week later, they failed. I reported the problem to devsupport but I have not received no auto answer. So, I decided to buy other csi files. Now, I have them, but I don't know how to remove the keys from the old and install the new. I would be sure to properly install my keys. Someone removed the old keys and installed new in the same PC?

To remove your old code signing key delete the following files:

    sigtool. CSK

    sigtool.DB

    sigtool. Set

They will be found in the BlackBerry development tools installation directories.  Let me know what tools and of each version that you have installed and I can give you exact locations.

  • Satellite R630-14 days-how do I remove the keyboard?

    Hello

I bought a Toshiba Satellite R630-14 days, and I would remove keyboard to clean.
I tried to remove the plastic between the keys case, but I could not.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    > I would like to remove from the keyboard to clean.
In my opinion it of not necessary to remove the keyboard to clean it up.

First of all it of possible to remove the single key top. In which case you would not be able to remove dirt, you can first remove the CAP. But be careful...

In your case, I would use a piece of cotton and a few drops of alcohol to clean the keyboard

Computer brand and model?  Laptop or desktop and if the office make the keyboard?  The Fn key does not have to be pressed to activate the special F - key functions as you have problems with and F1 - F12 should send commands appropriate to the current program without having to press the FN key.  Do you see anything on the keyboard in reference to an F to FN lock?  If so press to remove the FN key
