Rename a layer without touching the mouse?

When you export files from Illustrator, I receive a ton of layers named < path > and < group >. I want to quickly rename these layers in Photoshop.

I'm using Alt-[&] - to move up and down my Layer palette, but I did not understand how to change a layer name other than a double click on the name (which takes a hand on the keyboard). Is it possible to rename a layer using the keyboard only?

If you use CS6 things are a little easier.

Double click on the layer name to retype. Then press tab (or shift tab for the other direction), and the name of the layer is highlighted and ready to re-enter. Continue to do the same for the remaining layer names.

  • Satellite L350 - want to reinstall Vista without touching the second partition

    Hi all

I want to reinstall Vista without touching the second partition that is full of data.
I'll be able to do with this procedure? http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm#

The confusing part is when it says in the explanation that the * entire hard drive * will be formatted (step 2) but on one of the photos, it is written that only data on C: will be erased.
I have Satellite L350, and the hard drive recovery process is the same as on the connected tutorial before (I'm not completely obviously)

    Hi amigo

I tested its operation, and from my experience, I can confirm that when you use the HDD recovery procedure as described in the Toshiba document all data saved on the second partition won t be deleted.

Only if you are using recovery DVD (please create a) will be formatted the whole HARD disk.

  • What is a quick way to exit Windows 7 without using the mouse?

On Windows XP, I could type the window then u and U key to exit.

On Windows 7 I seem to need the mouse to exit, even if I did stop my setting of the default button.

In addition, Windows 7 wants to drag me through a few caveats that I've closed everything.

Sometimes, it's just my email that is open or a file folder, then there is no pending work.

But I want to just close without the quiz on my understanding of the risks of loss of work, etc..

I know that some applications such as Norton and Windows update can simply kill all ongoing enforcement programs to restart

during the installation of updates, so the 'risk' is not worth the constant reading.

Here are the steps to stop Windows 7 without using the mouse:

    Press Windows (Windows key).
    Release it
    Press the right arrow key
    Press ENTER key

If you don't want warnings to stop, you can create a shortcut on the desktop with the command-line ' shutdown/f' and assign a key combination.

See the following link for more shutdown command line options:
    http://www.computerperformance.co.UK/Windows7/windows7_shutdown_command.htm

Once you create the shortcut icon on the desktop, you right-click on the icon, select Properties. In the shortcut tab, you can assign a key under the shortcut key combination to launch this program.

  • Change the opacity of a selection on a layer without changing the entire layer.

I use Photoshop CS2 for several years to improve my photos, but earlier met with something simple, that I can't find out how.   I have a photo of an interior room with defined exposure mainly for the open window on the background layer, but the rest of the room is very dark.  The only other layer, the top, I got the same correctly exposed for the room, which overexposes the aea of window.  The upper and lower layers are superimposed perfectly, and the top layer is at 100% opacity.  I selected the window on the top layer and to change the opacity of the area selected to mix properly with window on the lower layer without changing the opacity of the layer.  No matter what I do, change the opacity seems to only affect the entire layer, and I didn't understand how to isolate the area selected for the opacity change.

I can cut the selection to reveal the darker window on the bottom layer, but it does not give me the flexibility I need to balance the two exhibitions. A change of opacity would be ideal.

    Any ideas?

OK - I've found a workaround.  I made the change of opacity for the entire layer so that the window looked the way I wanted to and flattened the image. It left me with an excellent rendering of the window of the room.  Then I added a new layer with an opacity of 100% with the image of the maid's room, but the overexposed window.  I repeated the selection in the window on the new layer and make a cut, which revealed the right window in the image of the maid's room.  Then I flattened the image and there

I close this issue as resolved.

  • What is the best way to edit the pixels of the layer without applying the image?

    Help, please!?

What is the best way to change the pixels on a new layer (clone, healing, patch or selection) without applying the image? When I do that, I can't change the under layer if I make a mistake.

    Does this make any sense!

You want to use the patch tool to put the fix on its own layer? Use sample all layers in the Options bar.

  • Re Photo scale without using the mouse... ?

I'm creating an Action for my regular job... The Action is very Simple... There create a box in the Document... copy the image, and then paste the image to this area (paste to)... perfect work of action for these steps... but I need some more... I want to mount the image copied in this area (perhaps not perfectly)... How can I do this... I want to say is a shortcut for resize image... Please check below the images for an understanding...

    001.png

    002.png

    003.png

Adjust Image... can be used in action, but would resize the entire document.

The problem here is the area in which the images are to adapt is not necessarily the same every time ("in fact I change these boxes")

SO, to maintain the flexibility of the size of the box and eliminate the need for the user to scale via the mouse, I would create a multi-step action.

Start with your main document are open.

Draw a box on a separate layer in the size that you want to adjust an image in. Fill it with black.

Now that the action would be:

Make a selection in the black box by Command/Ctrl clicking on its thumbnail. (keep this active selection)

Layer > duplicate layer. New document.

    Image > Trim... Transparent pixels

File > Place incorporated... Find the file you want to place. (this will automatically make it fit in the space.)

Using the hotkey Optin/Alt + left hook, select the layer below.

    Delete

    Image > Trim... Transparent pixels

    Select all

    Copy.

Press Command/Ctrl + Tilde (~) key to navigate through the source document.

    Dough.

    Stop the action.

    Alternatively, try this action.

  • How can I create a new all-white or all-black layer without changing the current foreground color or background?

I need to create a filled layer of black or white.  I need to do WITHOUT changing the current foreground or background colors. So I can't use the bucket tool. The reason is that I have created these layers inside Action and the need the current colors remain unchanged.

Here's the easiest way I found to date:

    1. Layer-> new fill layer-> solid color...  Select one of the choices other than 'None '.  In the color picker dialog box, place the code hex #fff and click OK
    2. Layer-> rasterize-> content fill
    3. Layer-> Layer Mask-> remove

Can someone suggest a simpler method?

You can simply create a new empty layer and then go to Edit > fill and choose either black or white

  • With the changes made in the Adobe Acrobat DC he has made things more difficult for me. All I want to do is to rename a file. Used to be simple. Please tell me how to rename a file without using the cloud. I'm not paying for storage when I have an SD card

Hate the new update.  I need to rename files and cannot do without using the cloud.  Could not sign in the cloud free services.  Someone knows how to rename the files with Adobe Acrobat DC? I use a HD with Android corner.

Do you have any file manager installed on your device? This feature is no longer available in the latest version of Acrobat DC but we actively seek to provide the same in one of our future releases. To work around the problem, you will need to duplicate/rename the files using a third-party file manager application.

  • HOW TO GET RID OF THE MODE ADDRESS BAR IN FULL SCREEN WITHOUT MOVING THE MOUSE

When full screen toolbar address and tabs only lift and disappear after moving the mouse. It should automatically disappear after a few seconds, even if you do not move the mouse. Is there anyway to achieve this goal? Thank you.

Thanks for your reply. Safe mode made no difference. However, I know how you feel. If you are in normal mode (with a Web site open), and then you press F11 for full screen, it will automatically hide the address bar. However, if WHILE in FULLSCREEN MODE, you enter a new address and go to another Web page it will hide the address bar after moving the mouse.

  • Retouching fast without using the mouse to the menu all the time?

    Hi again,

Sorry its another novice question (and, hopefully, a really simple). I want to select an audio piece, delete it and sort the audio for the snap right position so no remains empty. For the moment, I have this by positioning the mouse to the top of the screen and selecting: Edit\Delete & Move. Is there a setting I can adjust so in the future, I can just press the delete key to get the same effect?

older versions of GB had a built-in keyboard equivalent for delete and move, but you can add it yourself via system preferences. If you do not know how:
