• Can't see the ESSBASE application...

  We are able to see the ESSBASE application in the directory ESSBASE_HOME/app, but the applications are not online and are not visible in the Regional/AAS service console. Is it possible to join the request according to the file system. Given that we do not want ot lose the work of development so far. Also, this server has been restored from tape backup.   If it was something that was restored from a backup when you have deleted the original (or restored from another system) application, it's pretty easy to let him appear in ARE. Just a right-click on applications and select Create a new application. Give it the same name and the type of database (ASO or OSB) than the original. When Essbase sees the application directory, it will just add the application security, it will not overwrite what is located in the directory.

  I have a version 9 of Essbase Server installed. I need to change the name of the service. Is it possible, or do I need to reinstall?

  I am here with something new because we have 2 servers different essbase in both machines. I copied the machine1 app folder that has a server instance essbase 1 and glued to the computer2 that has an instance of essbase Server 2.
  
  1. stop the service essbase
  2 copied the app folder on the new machine with essbase Server 2
  3. restart the service
  
  Please let me know if I need to change the name of the server anywhere.

  Don't do it this way, add two servers in EA, and then copy the application overall through the Regional service.
  You must also export the data from the source dbs and then import the data into the target dbs.

  Save it on the destination server, and then open the Regional service Console, click Open and select the .otl file.

• Cannot deploy the Essbase Cubes, only planning Applications

  I can't deploy Essbase of EPMA cubes. Here is the error message I get:

  Error.

  Could not deploy Essbase cube.

  Caused by: unable to connect to the olap service. Unable to connect to the Essbase server. Error: Essbase Error (1051293): connection fails due to invalid login credentials

  However, when I deploy a planning application it works.

  You use shared services for security. If so, assign the Essbase Applications in security of shared services.

  Can someone tell me how to restore the database in essbase... who is corrupt, I guess...

  Backup existing .db files and rename .dbb .db and check if you are able to start the application. Check the Essbase Application logs and see why its impossible to start.

  If you have all the data backup then not worry something, we can even remove the Essbase application and create again from Planning and can load the backup.

• Could you change default directory where are stored the Essbase cubes?

  Hello everyone:
  
  I wonder if it is possible to change the default directory (+ / app / < apps > / < cube > +) where are stored the Essbase applications and cubes. Really, I have two questions:
  
  (1) is it possible to specify a new path where are stored the cubes?
  (2) could be using multiple paths at the same time? I mean, using the default route and an alternative route.
  
  This could be a good way to quickly generate space using, for example, external hard drives, couldn't?

  I know of no limitation. You don't know where you just point do has enough disk space.

  Updated based on feedback from Glenn: must ensure that backup procedures Essbase are scripted to choose among different locations.

• Cannot rename the samples to the examples in blazeds turnkey

  Installed the turnkey and tested BlazeDS samples. Worked well. Then I renamed the Web application "examples". Nothing works. So I made a double called 'samples' and then BOTH were working. Why? I'm trying to set up my own webapp for RemoteObject invocation. It only works when the Web application 'samples' is deployed. If I move it off webapps no remoteobjects no longer works. I searched for what is before the turnkey installation to require the Web application 'samples', but can't find it. Anyone know?

  BTW, the registered sample dynamically works without the webapp "samples."

  Yes. You are right. I forgot about it. To run the examples in a different webapp, you must compile the file swf is to use a different root context.

  Hi Hanson,

  One Option would be to be extracted the essbase outline in the text (preferably in Parent child format) through outline Extractor (available on internet) format and then use this file extracts to create the dimension of epma and then load in the planning application.

  What you can do is really easy.
  (1) start Essbase in interactive mode
  (2) to the window of the agent (essbase process), run the DUMP that export the dry file in an ascii file.
  (3) in this file, you will find a section "locked objects."

  Then, ESSCMD, you can run the unlockobject command to release the locks.
  If Essbase is unable to remove the lock because the file is not present (deleted, etc.), you can create a new file with the same name before 'Retry '.

• Rename the application HFM - catastrophic failure

  I tried to rename the application of HFM via Copy Utility and application renamed successfully.

  But when I tried to open the application via the workspace, I get the error message below. Also, the application name is not changed in the workspace: Navigate-> building-> name of the Application.

  I created an Essbase application in EAS web console (URL is : http://application-tier server: port/easconsole). How can I register it at the service of the brightness.   The problem is resolved after add "AuthenticationModule CSS" in the file EPM_instance\EssbaseServer\essbaseserver\bin\Essbase.cfg file.

• How to rename the FDM 11.1.2.1 application?

  (B) select the application, and then click on 'change '.

  (C) Note the path of the FDM application

  (D) click the database tab and note the information of database

  (E) click on 'Cancel' and then remove the application from the previous screen

  (F) search for the path of the application file and rename the folder of the application to the new application name

  (G) click on 'Add' and enter the new name for the app, the description, the path of the Application with the name of the new folder, choose the Group of applications "MDF".

  (H) click the database tab and re-enter the information of database.

  Stop the services.
  Go to planning db relational system and table HSPSYS_APPLICATION, update the name of the application.
  Start planning and Shared Services and web server
  Go to http://: 8300/HyperionPlanning/AppWizard.jsp
  Register the application with the new name.
  Log in to Shared Services (for example via the server port web http://: 19000/interop/index.jsp)
  Expand application groups and the group where planning applications are stored, right-click, the former name of the application and remove, the new application must be in the list.
  Start the rest of the services.
  You should see the planning with the new name in the workspace.
