Renamed Recycle Bin

I returned to my computer after leaving it on overnight to find my trash has a new name ": {450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103} (2) '."  I can't change this back. Help most appreciated. Windows XP Professional installs

I wonder how that came from... is the virus/malware free machine?  Do you use cleaning tools and 'tweak' registry?

The name of the Recycle Bin is held in the registry at:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

Look at the (default) value, it stores the name of the Recycle Bin.

If you cannot rename or if the trash does not correctly reset it.  Go tohttp://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and merge the file "replace/repair Recycle Bin in Windows XP" in the registry, see line 64, right hand.

The trash is still working OK. It's just the logo of office that has this digital title and I can't get the

Instruction "Rename" in the drop down menu the menu highlighted so that I can use it.

The machine is an Equium A60 - 157 running Windows XP SP2

    Hello

    I've found this workaround short:

    1. start the registry (type regedit in RUN)
    2 open the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT folder
    3. open the CLSID folder
    4 open the {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} folder
    5 open the ShellFolder folder
    6. change the data value of 'Attributes' of the ' 40 01 00 20 "to"50 01 00 20".". "
    7. change the DWORD "CallForAttributes" at "0x00000000" (double click and change value data to 0).
After this procedure, the option rename must appear in the drop-down menu when you right click on the Recycle Bin icon.

  • Outlook Express accidentally deleted data form. How can I restore it from the Recycle Bin?

As I said I was moving an e-mail on file to clarify that I keep on many topics.  When an opportunity moving fuction outlook express installs all my local folder to the trash.  a when I try to use the import feature in outlook, I don't see the trash to shoot again in outlook or send to outlook?  I'm not the best person with a p/c, but don't use it assign to all my data.  I don't like the paper.

    Thank you

original title: how to restore my data express form in outlook that was placed in the trash, I moved an email in a folder and all other data files were sent to the Recycle Bin

    1. Please do not use Outlook as a shortcut to Outlook Express. They are two completely different programs.
    2. Bak files, you see in the trash is moved when you attemptrd to move messages, i.e. an automatic backup that occurs when the compaction of your records. They were probably there already.

If you are moving messages, first examine all records to ensure that they don't end up in the right folder, or becomes one subfolder of another. If this is not the case, read on.

    *****************************************

Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :
    http://www.insideoe.com/FAQs/why.htm#compact

    Why mail disappears:
    http://www.insideoe.com/problems/bugs.htm#mailgone

    Recovery methods:

If you are running XP/SP3, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:

DBXpress run in extract disc Mode is the best chance to recover messages:
    http://www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/default.aspx

    And see:

    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4

A general warning to help avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

  • $recycle.bin files on external drive

When McAfee scanning my WD external drive, it takes hours and hours as it analyzes the many files called $recycle.bin. I mean hours and hours.  I cannot find these files on my external hard drive, nor indeed on my computer either.  Is there a way to find and delete the 'old'?  Thank you.

They are hidden and system files.  Go to start / Control Panel / folder Options / view and check the box to show the hidden files and folders, check the box to show system files and uncheck to hide extension for known file types.  Click OK and close.  Go back to your external drive, and you should now be able to view the files.  I have one on my system at the root of the C: drive as the first entry.  I do not understand why you have so much of.  I'm not sure about the consequences of the removal of the old (do NOT delete all) - I've never seen a case where there were many.  I suggest that you create a system restore point before you do any delete or rename.  I would also first try to rename Recycle1.old or something like that first and then see if everything works (especially your Recycle Bin and deleting files).  If after a few days, everything seems to work fine, so go ahead and delete the renamed files and it should go.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • $Recycle.Bin - can I change the name defaults to '. $Recycle.Bin '?

    Hello
    Simple question.
Windows Vista uses a folder titled system $Recycle.Bin to remove these files.
I need to rename this file beginning with a '.' period.
If you know why, it's because this folder appears in some of my system files (pictures, videos), who were relocated on a linux on a NAS share. Linux does not include the hidden file attribute, and therefore it remains visible.
Renaming with a period at the front, this will ensure that it remains hidden.

    Any thoughts?

SOLVED... Instead of trying to change the behavior of Windows, I modified the SAMBA. I have used... to hide files = / $RECYCLE. BIN / in smb.conf and restarted SAMBA (\etc\init.d\smb.sh restart) now it's HIDDEN! can be seen when 'show hidden files/folders' is enabled. PS. I also found an unreadable 'hide' option which I haven't used, but may be possible to hide something for good!

  • Location of Recycle Bin

    Hello

What is the location of the Recycle Bin in 10g...

    Thank you and Regars...

    http://www.orafaq.com/node/968

When the recyclebin is enabled, any tables that you not move actually get deleted. Instead, when you delete a table, just Oracle renames the table and all its > associated objects (indexes, triggers, BUSINESS segments, etc.) to a name generated by the system, which starts BIN$.

  • Can Recycle Bin on desktop shortcut

I would like to put a shortcut to the Recycle Bin on my desktop, so I can drag files to the trash. I know there is one on the dock

but it would be easier on the desk for me. How can I do?

Choose go to folder from the Finder Go menu, provide ~ /. Trash like path, click on the small icon at the top of the window, and then press the Option and command keys while dragging to the desktop. This will not work for items on external drives, the disk images or additional partitions.

  • Can I actually delete messages rather than having that they are sent to the Recycle Bin?

I want to know how I can delete messages rather than the envoys in a junk folder or recycle bin and then delete them from there. I have several filters set up and send them to separate subfolders. But of course, when I look at these and remove them, they go in the trash. Then I can actually delete them so that they're gone, that's what I think delete would do in the first place. Is it possible to do so, to delete messages without moving them to the trash and then remove them from there? It is important that I don't miss any messages, I still sometimes do, but I'll have 50 posts or more per day that are trash. Most of them pass through my filters, but if I do not have a daily interview with a bunch of garbage I'd meet a real nightmare.
Surely people have requested this, and I've seen some with answers like "it's the way it was designed. Can it be done?

Thank you, if there is a useful link that send.

  • Some accounts have the Recycle Bin instead of the trash icon. Cannot run 'Empty trash' on the record, only on an icon to the trash.

I have four accounts open TB: mine, woman, club and spam. Only mine and spam account display the Recycle Bin icon. The other two accounts have a folder named "Trash". Deleted files go in the Trash files, is similarly in the trash icon files. However, there is a single action, I can perform on files from the Recycle Bin. When right clicking on folders, "empty trash" is not available as an option. The function is available only on folders with the Recycle Bin icon.
Is there a way to get the appropriate folder to the trash with function 'empty trash' in all accounts?

OK - I messed around with the settings more and came across a solution.
1 right-click on the account name in the left pane, and then select settings.
    2. Select Server settings
    3. in the central block under deletion actions, select Advanced
    4. uncheck the "show only subscribed folders", and then click OK
    5. click OK in the parameters, and then collapse the account name in the left pane so not subfolders appear.
6 expand the name of the account. This is - the trash is now a garbage can with the function of "empty trash".
    7. If desired, return to the advanced settings and re - select "show only subscribed folders" and click OK

Don't ask me why this works. It's a total coincidence that I even found it.
