Repeated KB981715 update

The automatic Windows Update for Office 2007 (KB981715) repeatedly trys to install every time the computer is restarted.  How can I stop this from happening?

Marv joyce,
If this is the only update (KB981715) that is not installed, you can run an Office repair or reinstall Office, and then re-run the update.

  • HP Pavilion 15 n208-tx restarts repeatedly after updated recent windows 8

My laptop automatically installed the recent update of windows 8 at shutdown. After that, it is not start properly. It restarts several times only. A whole summer facing the similar problem. Please suggest.

    Thanks for the reply. !!

    I solved the problem myself.

I was desperate to install update windows 8.1 KB 2919355 it offers a few extra features for users of keyboard and mouse. (I hate windows 8).

After trying a few alternatives. I have factory rearm the system by taking the risk of losing a part stored personal data. (I lost the least that I used this laptop sparingly so far).

After that reset facotry, I started to install windows first updates. All updates including KB 2919335 installed without any problem and the system worked very well.

Then I started to install software such as Anti-Virus (Avast), video players and all the... (I restart the laptop after each installed software to find the bug)

When I installed "Deamon Tools Lite", repeated the problem. So, I restored the system to the State before the installation of Daemon Tools Lite and now its works very well. !!

Thus, the culprit was "Daemon tools lite".

Since you have questions other than just Windows Update (updates driver with HP and Firefox) then you can start by ensuring that your system is free of infection.  Here are a couple of good thread to get rid of malware and other.

  • repeated windows updates

Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 on Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP x 86 (KB2804577)

keep appearing in the Microsoft Update site and taskbar despite already mounted.

I already tried to uninstall, reinstall, leaving Shutdown of Windows Installer, no change.

    SOLVED!

This can be the long way - about doing it, but it worked for me and all my Windows updates are installed without problem!

    Step 1 a) download "dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip" from: https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=27e6a35d1a492af7&id=27E6A35D1A492AF7%21390

Step 1b) download "Piriform CCleaner" from: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard

Step 1 c) create a file batch and place the following content between the - in the program:

    ---

    off @echo

    CLS

    net stop wuauserv
    CD /d % windir %
    RD/q/s C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution
    net start wuauserv
    ---

    This program will be:

    (A) stop the Windows Update Service

    (B) clear the Windows Update Cache

    (C) restart the Windows Update Service

Step 2) run the "dotnetfx_cleanup_tool" and select (.NET Framework - Versions) and select "Cleanup Now". This will remove all the facilities of the .net Framework.

Step 3a) install and run "CCleaner". Use the registry cleaner to remove all residual traces of .net Framework from the system registry.

Step 3b) use the "cleaner" to remove Windows additional cached files.

Step 4) run the batch program you created using the orders listed above.

Step 5) run Windows Update and reinstall .net Framework (and its updates).

I strongly suggest you allow updates Windows select the .net Framework order must be installed. Change this order may cause additional problems.

    Good luck to all!

    ;)

  • Download/install repeated several updates

My computer has been disconnected from the internet for a while. When it is reconnected, there was a lot of updates to download. It was expected. However, it seems that some of them are downloading and installing again and again. I did not write down the codes KB before so I'm not sure on all of them, but the Malicious Software Removal Tool for July 2013, I'm sure I saw him three times. He says that the installation has been completed each time. I did get the automatic updates error messages.

I tried to use the patch tool, but it gave me an error message. He told me to check my internet connection (which was fine) and try again. I tried twice with the same result.
Can someone help me please? I don't really know how to solve this problem. Thank you.

It would be great if you can run the update of Windows Fix tool. Please try again, because maybe it was a temporary network condition.

Since you have enough free space, try the following before moving on to other solutions. Try 1 and if that does not work, try 2, etc. When you are finished, please confirm that you have tried.

    1. click on start > run > chkdsk/r > press on enter or OK > enter Y at the prompt of > Reboot
Depending on how big you make your XP partition, it may take some time.
When he returns to the top, the updates again. If they still fail, click Start > run > eventvwr.msc > press on enter or OK > go to Application, Type: Information, Source: Winlogon. Copy the message by clicking on the button under the arrow down and paste it into Notepad and save it. When you are ready to respond, post the contents of the .txt file.

    2. click on start, run, type msconfig and press to enter.
Click the selective startup radio button.
    Uncheck load startup items.
    Click the services tab.
    Click Hide all microsoft services.
    Click Disable all.
    Click OK.
Click on restart on the box that opens asking you to restart.
When he returns to the top, the updates again. Please report any failure or success.
This eliminates the possibility that your AV or other programs interfere.
Once completed, return to msconfig, and then click normal startup.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/331796/

    3. try to install the updates manually. I'm a little tired right now or I'll give you the links so Google the KB numbers for each default update and look for the download page for them. Regarding "Security Update for Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0 SP2 on Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP x 86 (KB22844285)", I think you meant KB2844285. There is no such thing as KB22844285. Confirm that it is indeed KB2844285 and download NDP20SP2 -KB2844285- x86.exe. Please report any failure or success.

Since one is a .NET 2.0 update, I need to know if the 2.0 is part of an installation of .NET 3.5. Open Add or remove programs and see if you have 3.5, 3.0, and 2.0 is installed. You can also use this tool. Please report what you have.

Insofar as the Office updates, if all these steps fail, you may need to wait for someone with experience of updates to Office or by mail in the Office forums. I don't have a desktop.

I'll give you more to the steps for the rest if the neither of the 3 steps helped.
