  The table that the report is based on a a comment field that users should be able to update.  Currently, it is defined as ' display as '-text field, to allow users to change.

  I want to be able to provide users a standard set of comments from which they can choose, if they wish, OR to put in another comment or to choose a standard comment and change, that is very much like a drop-down list box.

  Other types of fields can be defined as "text field with AutoComplete", which would be fine if I could put it on this area, but in such field, on this type of regions, it is not possible.

  Is it possible that I can create a work around to get the same effect.

  It turns out that due to my need is satisfied by the standard features.

  I was looking for "offering users a standard set of comments from which they can choose, if they wish, OR to put in another comment or to choose a standard comment and change, IE a lot as a combo box"

  The answer is a Popup LOV.  (As opposed to a Select list).

  Selecting a popup LOV will bring back the text in the field AND ALLOW the EDITION. And if you do not use the context menu, you can always change the field.

  Brand new to Flash so bear with me...

  I try to add two text fields that contain dummy text. This text is then wiped when a user selects the this text field, although it is not wipe any text input by the user if they choose this new text box.

  Error is:

• Several Page flowed form with repeating field, causing a blank page

  I have a form 3 of the page with a repeating field on page 1.  I have configured positioned pages like fluid with subforms and everything works fine, until you type a lot of info in the repeating field and it moves everything from page 1 to page 2, the problem appears after the text is moved, there is a big empty space after the text that was moved.  Basically, the rest of the information is moved to page 3, and then there is a 4 page.  Hope it makes sense.

  I would like to just the pages flow together so that if the expansion box goes on the next page just sections continue to follow without a huge empty space on page 2.

  It sounds as if your content is set to do not allow page breaks inside it.  Have you checked all forms of sub containing the option below?

  

• Repeat the field values by repeating the header (flowed subform)

  I have a request form which consists of three main sections - a header, a table of details, and a footer.

  The Details table must be able to expand to fit, which means that the form should be able to escape on a second page. All the fields in the header must repeat on the second page. The footer should only appear once, at the bottom of the table of details, not repeated on each page.

  After much tinkering with flowed and positioned subforms, I've got this work with the Details table inside a subform sank, with a subform positioned in the lines of header and footer in the table. I suspect that this is not the 'proper' way, but it's the only way I could make it work.

  So my head joyfully repeats on the second page, but the values typed in the first page header fields do not appear on the second page. The user must be able to change the header on any page and all pages update headers.

  Can someone please point me to a tutorial or give me an idea of what code would accomplish this? I don't know how to reference the field repeated to set its value.

  If I do it is crazy, and there is a better way, it would be good to know too. I use es2

  Set the binding for the fields in the header 'Use of global data' - on the binding of the object palette tab.

  I have created a form to the APEX 4.2, and two elements on the page have a problem. The first point is a text field with AutoComplete for the PROVIDER. The second element is a list select number that has the PROVIDER as part of waterfall to fill.

• Fill a field with the results of the other (sort and add custom text)

  I have a PDF form with many fields popup asking 'Yes', 'Maybe' or 'no '. I need a way to collect the answers and sorting, all the 'yes' first of all, that all the 'maybe', all the 'no '. When I need after that sort of response of three, is put in a 'Results' field with the container of the ToolTips for each popup and the ability to add a "BOLD" text, between three sorted responses.

  I have found some javascript in the forum here to collect data from field only. It seems to be easy to modify if you have several fields to collect/sorting/extract.

  Assistance or management to do will be appreciated.

  We would like to know if it is possible to align the text automatically with a form field that can contain different amounts of characters.

  It is only possible if the time text is also part of a text field, preferably the same one. You can use a format or script validation to automatically add this custom text to text from the user, assuming that it is a fixed value or you can know in advance. If it is a value entered by the user, then it becomes almost impossible to do it gently.

  Select your photo and text inside the subform flowed. Right-click and select wrap in subform do the positioned Subform subform. This will allow you to move objects in this subform positioned the way you like them.

  Tools_1a_pri is a drop-down list box with a predefined list. One of the options is the 'other '.  If 'Other' is selected, the text Tools_1a_pri_other field becomes visible for users to enter the name of the other tool.

  The Tools_1a_pri_txt is a text field with a calculation that shows a text indicating that no tool has been selected or the Tools_1a_pri & or Tools_1a_pri_other.

  When I select one of the predefined tools, everything works.  When I choose the other, it seems that nothing has changed.  Must I click another field before.  It's confusing for the user.

  You have made the classic mistake of using the assignment operator in a statement instead of the comparison operator. Change this line:

  I have a text field with text ghost. Also, there is a button to add additional text fields. When a user clicks on the 'add an additional text field button' new text field appears but without the ghost of the original text field text. I tried the script of the click event of the button to fire or run:

  Why 2 ways? LiveCycle has two ways to present it:

  (1) on the drop-down list for events (e.g. form: ready)

  Put your event form script: ready in the initialize event.

  I have a very interesting thing happening in my APEX (4.0.1) application.
  
  I have problems with a text field, because when I insert the text 'aaaaa' and send the page, the text is transformed in "Aaa£ aa.
  After some time trying to understand the game characters and translations and etc, I realized that this thing happened in some pages.
  
  Then, I started to remove components of the page where it happens and I discovered that what initially is an element to browse file...
  Every time I have send the page, if there is an element of browse file created on the page, the text is changed. If I delete the queue item browse, when submitting the page, the text remains correct.
  
  Is it supposed to work like this? And if yes, why is it?

  No, of course not.

  Of one of your previous posts, it seems that you use the APEX? If so, similar problems have been reported a number of times before: + {: identifier of the thread = 1104224} + suggests a fix.

• Text field with AutoComplete is always NULL

  I am new to Apex, so I don't know I'm missing something obvious. I use Apex 4.0.1 what I've done is created a form on a page of table and added a new text with page of AutoComplete element. This new field of text does not match a column in the table. What I'm trying to do, is allow the user to use the AutoComplete feature to make a choice. Then when the user submits the page, I want to use the substr function on the value of the field of AutoComplete and fill one of the fields in table. I tried using the PL/SQL functions in validations and calculations, but I found that the autocomplete field value is always NULL. I can access the other fields that are associated with a fine table column. It must be something simple. Thanks for your help.
