replace iWeb

What is the best free of replacement for iWeb? Need a facilitator and a manufacturer of web page printable free mac.

I have 2 sites created with iWeb and since it is no longer supported, I had problems with updates.

Can you help me?

Research on the App Store or MacUpdate.

How to safely use MacUpdate to download malicious software free software:

This site has both free and paid members accounts. If you don't have then some software will be distributed in a wrapper for an installation that includes adware/malware, you can not. Such a download may appear on your computer as follows: Firefox installer.dmg. Remove the download and return to the main site where you will find a direct link to the Web site. Use this link to download the software.

To avoid these downloads to MU simply create a free membership account. Sign in to your account before using the site. You can avoid the wrappers of the installer and download of adware or malware. I continue to use their site without any problems.

If you prefer not to create a membership account and note that on the download page under the price area will be the link to the developer site. Use this link and download the software directly from the developer work around the use of MU altogether.

There are warnings of a user in this topic, warning that the site is "dangerous." His attention is exaggerated and it is false. Know the facts. You simply establish a free subscription or paying to avoid problems with malware. Do not pay attention to other users who warn you away with the hyperbole and rhetorical insults.

  • What code to replace Quicktime?

I have an iWeb constructed Web site. http://www.YourSkiCoach.com

But the videos are inserted for the most part using Quicktime which is interrupted, it seems.

    They appear like this http://www.yourskicoach.com/glossary/SkiGlossary/Pivoting.html

What code I would want to do a search and replace in Dreamweaver to replace the Quicktime plugin with a youtube embed code?

    Thank you

    Janis

The method of QuickTime no longer works in some browsers, especially on Apple computers, like the Quicktime player is not supported by default. The HTML5 player should be used instead. Unfortunately some older browsers do not recognize. The player is simpler and not configurable. The code for audio is:

    < audio controls = "orders" source src = "audio.mp3" type = "audio/mpeg" > "

Your browser does not support the HTML5 audio element.

    < / audio >

    The video player code is

    < video width = "320" height = "240" controls >

    < src = "source movie.mp4' type =" video/mp4">"

    < src = "source movie.ogg' type =" video/ogg">"

Your browser does not support the video tag.

    < / video >

(Of course, you don't have to provide two versions, this is just a demonstration script). The URL to the media file assumes that it is in the same folder as the page, otherwise a more complete URL is obviously necessary. The line "your browser does not support...". ' is for display in the case of older browsers that don't support HTML5 - it will not appear in browsers that do.

Unfortunately, different browsers display output in different ways. With the drive audio Safari does not provide a progress bar; and unlike the player QT player width cannot be configured - for example if you try to fit exactly under a picture. However it should work in most cases - same Safari in Snow Leopard will manage, although I can't answer for what earlier either. I have not tested the video player, but it should work OK in all modern browsers.

  • Music videos in iWeb

Having developed with happiness a beautiful five page site supporting our harp of the wind in the strings and flute, recent duo of a potential customer responded that the embedded audio clips do not work properly in his office. After testing with Safari and Firefox on my MacBook Pro; Internet Explorer, Safari, and Chrome on two PCs running Windows 10, the same effect was observed.

Apple has documented the issue, which indicates solutions for: (1) THE browsers in which the employee referenced legacy QuickTime plug-in can be reactivated or (2) replace an HTML appropriate for a solution identifier General (we hope). After an exhaustive (and exhausting) search for the offending legacy code, I came to the conclusion that the code in question is embedded in an Apple support function, the source code for which I do not have access.

Does anyone have a similar experience and a solution to this difficult problem? We hate avoid iWeb for a website creation tool less aesthetically pleasing and more complex.

You may find that you need to give up iWeb, iWeb is not a supported product in charge longer and has not been for the last 4 years at least.

iWeb was not developed for 6 years and not yet sold or supported by Apple for the last 4 years at least.

Basically, I see that you say you use iWeb 08?  Really - that could be the problem and you should at least use iWeb 09 on the contrary - the only way to upgrade to know is buying the box of iLife 11 from somewhere like Amazon.

However, I would say that if you need to upgrade, while your site are only five pages, it wouldn't take long to rebuild using a software program that is currently supported and is actively developed.

Take a look at EverWeb or Freeway Pro and they are very easy to use and will not date this available that iWeb no longer has.

Time to move and re - build your site - there is no point in looking for solutions to an obsolete product that cannot yet work soon.

  • iWeb to Dreamweaver II: Question of JS

I use Dreamweaver to publish a Web site created in iWeb to a Linux server and am having a problem with some audio files based on JavaScript.

    Consider the following code:

    < div id = "id9" style = "height: 68px;" left: 161px; position: absolute; top: 380px; Width: 144px; z-index: 1; "class ="style_SkipStroke_2">"

    < div class = "graphic_textbox_layout_style_default_External_144_68 text-content" style = "padding: 0px; ' > '"

    < div class = "graphic_textbox_layout_style_default" >

    < style p = "padding-top: 0pt;" class = "Free_Form" > Morio E < br / > < / p >

    < class p 'Free_Form' = > Traditional < br / > < / p >

    < style p = "padding-bottom: 0pt;" class = "Free_Form" > < /p > Gilberto Gil lyrics

    < / div >

    < / div >

    < / div >

    < div style = "height: 120px;" left: 45px; position: absolute; top: 532px; Width: 102px; z-index: 1; ' > '.

    < img style = "height: 104px;" Width: 102px; "src = Music_files/sambatuquecoverart_3.jpg""/ >

    < script type = "text/javascript" > <!--

    writeMovie4();

    --> < /script >

    < / div >

This is the corresponding code in the associated JS file:

    function writeMovie3()

    {detectBrowser (); if (windowsInternetExplorer)

    {document.write (' < object id = "id8" classid = "clsid:02BF25D5 - 8 c 17 - 4B 23 - BC80 - D3488ABDDC6B" codebase = "http://www.apple.com/qtactivex/qtplugin.cab" width = "102" height = "16" > < param name = "src" value="Media/06%20E%20Morio.mov" / > < param name = "controller" value = "true" / > < param name = value "autoplay" = "false" / > < param name = value "Scale" = "tofit" / > < param name = value "volume" = "100" / > < param name = value "loop" = "false" / > < / object > ') ;} }

    Another yew (isiPhone)

    {document.write (' < object id = "id8" type = "video/quicktime" width = "102" height = "16" > < param name = "src" value="Media/06%20E%20Morio.mov"/ > < param name = "controller" value = "true" / > < param name = value "Scale" = "tofit" / > < / object > ') ;}}

    on the other

    {document.write (' < object id = "id8" type = "video/quicktime" width = "102" height = "16" data="Media/06%20E%20Morio.mov" > < param name = "src" value="Media/06%20E%20Morio.mov"/ > < param name = "controller" value = "true" / > < param name = value "autoplay" = "false" / > < param name = value "Scale" = "tofit" / > < param name = value "volume" = "100" / > < param name = value "loop" = "false" / > < / object > ') ;}}}

In a folder named Media is the 06 E Morio.mov file.

When I view the page Music.html locally, I see the graphics standard that appears with audio files - a horizontal thing, metallic color with a button you can push to start audio and a little button that slowly moves to the right until the song is finished. But when I view the page online, I don't see anything.

I tried to rename the audio file to 06_E_Morio.mov (to replace spaces with underscores), then replace every occurrence of %20 in the code of the JS file with underscore as well. But who killed on the spot.

I had a lot of problems with links that included capital letters and so does not correspond with images or JS files which were tiny. So, I guess that this problem has to do with either a value that should or should not have a capital letter or a question of space - either I need to replace %20 with underscores, or I need to insert characters to underscores in names of the audio files, etc.

    Can anyone offer any suggestions?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Use the Dreamweaver, Insert - Media - plug-in for insert quicktime files in dreamweaver.

It is for files quicktime video, but the procedure is the same for audio - http://www.layersmagazine.com/using-quicktime-videos-with-dreamweaver.html.

  • iWeb to Dreamweaver

I agreed to host a website for a friend who is new to the Web design. She designed the iWeb site. When she struggled to publish, I downloaded her site on my computer, and then he published with Dreamweaver - and it exploded in my face.

In fact, the site seems to work OK now that we have the pages in the right place (in the public_html folder and NOT in the folder "Ifrance.com"). The problem is that all images, JS and CSS files carry names in lowercase, but the links all started with capital letters. So I simply changed the links for lower case and that solved the problem.

But I want to understand what is happening here. IWeb is case-insensitive, which means bad when publish you it on a Linux server? Or is it possible that the code has been somehow changed when I imported into Dreamweaver?

I forgot to mention that some of the files contain spaces that were filled with %20 in the code. I fixed them by replacing each instance of %20 with an underscore. In any case, I was wondering if someone might be able to suggest what the problem is here. My guess is that iWeb is simply insensitive and tolerant with % 20, while Linux servers are more specific.

Another question: many of these images are surrounded by attractive white borders with images festooned on my computer - but these borders do not appear online. Each image is contained in a div that looks like this:

    < div style = "height: 300px;" Width: 225px;  height: 300px; left: 446px; position: absolute; top: 134px; Width: 225px; z-index: 1; "class ="tinyText style_SkipStroke_3 stroke_0">"

I discovered that the Scalloped edges disappear if I delete it: class = 'tinyText style_SkipStroke_3 stroke_0.

But I don't understand exactly what it is. I do not see a class named 'tinyText', 'style_SkipStroke_3' or 'stroke_0' in the associated CSS files. It sounds vaguely familiar to me, but I don't remember exactly what type of technology/program/language it is.

In any case, can anyone suggest how these dauphinoises borders are generated and why they do not appear online?

I have another, more complicated JS question I'll ask in a separate thread.

    Thank you!

    Hello

The %20 is caused by iWeb pages imported into Dreamweaver as utf - 8, but should not cause problems in regular text in links.

The absence of border styles can be caused by lack of javascript or image files, or if the border style is css3 that is implemented in Safari and now in Firefox, (can be emulated using javascript), without seeing the code for the class that I can not help more well the fact that it is used in an element with absolute positioning points to it in javascript/image generated.

The class can be in the javascript file not the css.

  • System preferences icon has replaced the dock

    Hi all

I have a strange behavior with the dock in macOS Sierra, especially with the "System Preferences" icon After you open the system preferences application, the icon was his suddenly replaced by another icon (see image below). It looks like a Doc App icon?

I tried to remove the 'System Preferences' app to the dock and put new in. It's OK for a while, but something after a few hours or days, the icon has been replaced by the "Doc App" icon again? !!

Is there anyone who has this strange behavior?

    Thank you

  • Is there a way to upload my iWeb site?

I lost my iWeb domain, is there a way to access my site and download it?

    Kind regards

    Paul

Yes, you can access your site on your server and if you connect to your server with a program such as Cyberduck ftp, then you can download your iWeb site files, but remember that as he is a published site, these are all html files and it won't be good for you because iWeb is no import , so will be unable to open html files.

If you have lost your domain.sites files that iWeb uses, then you will need to re - build your Web site from scratch, but as iWeb is not taken in charge and for the past 4 years, I would re-build your site with another application that it is actively updated.

Take a look at EverWeb here.

  • My magic mouse has stopped working.   Is there a battery that I need to replace?

My magic mouse stop working.   Do I have to replace a battery?  If so, how?

If it's a Magic Mouse 2 then you reload by using a standard USB cable Flash. The port is at the bottom of the mouse. If it's a Magic Mouse, then you must replace the batteries. Coverage is at the bottom of the mouse.

  • 2013: MacBook Pro replacement motherboard or not

    Brain Trust,

    I need some advice here.

I have a 2013 fully bridged on (500 GB SSD, 16 GB of RAM) MacBook Pro and the sound from the speakers awefully distorted.

I did all the regular troubleshooting inclusing a clean installation of the operating system, applications 3rd party and the problem persists.

The distortion is NOT dependent on volume, it is still there, as if the sound is cut at all levels.

Now, the headset on the port is perfectly clean, so I think I have it narrowed down to the (material) built-in drivers for speakers. I went to the Genius bar and they agreed and recommend a motherboard replacement. Since I have a month left my Applecare, I could do it, but I hesitate. Professionally, I rely heavily on my machine on a daily basis, and I fear that a machine otherwise perfect with zero problems (other than the problem of speaker) will be messed up.

What is your experience with a motherboard swap and what do you recommend I do? Live with the distortion and contemplate a great Macbook, or opt for repair until the warranty runs out. NB, I have a very old Macbook that I can use for the week or I'll have to miss my machine.

    I'll answer my own question:

Do it! I had a fantastic experience! Not only was my main problem, distortion in speakers, correctly diagnosed and resolved, since engineering also saw a small white spot on my screen (who had been there forever), I also had a nine screen. Not only that, I got a new valve and bottom plate, so after 3 years of intensive use, my Macbook Pro looks like new again. Total costs under Apple care program: $0.

It's really the only problem with Aplle MacBooks: my excuse to buy a new went through the window, this machine will last me a few years ago!

  • Why my photos are disappearing and being replaced by some other independent photo?

I was rearrange pictures in Photos now that I migrated from iPhoto.    I noticed recently that on the tile that an image that came also completely replaced him.  I have fixed the library with Command-option when I opened the Photos.  Has no effect.  So I restored from my time Machine.  No help.  Getting more far in time where I made sure that everything was OK.  Nothing.

When I click on the thumbnail, the original image is here, but does not correctly display as a thumbnail.  For a photo I exported to the desktop and then reimported it to Photos - but it will be a consumer in real time.

Why and what do I do?

Now I come to discover that, if I "go back to the Original", it fixes the thumbnail.  I had edited a long time ago by changing the orientation; That's all.  Still wonder why it does this.
