Replaced the hard drive with same MFG and size and can not start

I have a HP P6247c, windows 7. It was freezing at the top and then I received a message that was not the hard drive. I replaced the power supply 2 days before with a 400 Watt power supply. After I received the message of hard disk, I ran a checkdisk and found many segments I couldn't read. After checkdisk, the computer would not boot. I buy a seagate 500 gig drive and installed is the same as the original drive.

With no backup, I bought the system for this computer recovery disk. I received three disk with the recovery disk and a 4th system (SDRD UPDATE). The disc SDRD has said above to install this drive frist. I did it, but know not what happed after inserting the disc into the DVD player (saw nothing happen). Then I incerted the frist and nothing windows disk arrived. I stopped with the system recovery disk, because nothing was working. Then, I used a repair disk and got an error IO error 0xc00000e9 message.

I can get to try to start and press the AF button ESC. It give me a message on hp logo (blue screen) indicating the BIOS loading but does nothing after that. How can I solve my problems. I tried reinstalling memory chiop and check all connections to ensure good connection.

Note: before replacing the power supply, I found a lot of dust on all internal components. I cleaned all with air.

I recommend to try a Linux Live CD that will test to see if the hardware can actually support a simple OS.  It does not need to install anything, just to do the Live CD on a work computer, and then try to start the PC on the Live CD problem.  If it works well and can do many things, wait for a PC, then try a sale installation disc retail for Windows (same version that is from the factory) and use the key on the COA sticker.  If that fails, then it must be a hardware problem and requires more tests or a repair shop or a punt.

  • Is it possible to replace the hard drive with an SSD? or would it be too expensive?

Is it possible to replace the hard drive with an SSD?

or would it be too expensive?

Yes.  There are several alternatives.  I found a way relatively inexpensive, using a map of mSATA (very small SSD) and an adapter to connect it to the connector IDE 44 pin internal of my PowerBook.  It works very well.  Rather than repeat what I posted previously, you can watch these two topics (which also has good info, other users)

  • Re: Tecra A9 - 11M - replace the HARD drive with a larger

I have a Tecra A9 - 11 M with Windows XP Professional installed. I would like to replace the hard drive with a larger drive and install Windows 7 Professional.

Any suggestions on recommended records say 500 MB?

Difficulties to install Windows 7 on this model?

    Hey,.

    > Any suggestions on recommended records say 500 MB?
I assume you mean 500 GB and not 500MB, right? ;)

Well, the Tecra A9 already supports SATA interface and there is no limit of capacity on SATA interface, so you can install a 500 GB HARD drive or more (750 GB, etc.). Just make sure that it s 2.5 SATA HDD.

You can choose each brand of HARD drive because each model will not work. You can buy a Toshiba HDD, Western Digital HARD drive or another. No problem ;)

  • Qosmio X 500 - 10W - can I replace the HARD drive with another?

    Hello

I have a Qosmio X 500 - 10W with two drive HARD Toshiba MK5055GSX 500 GB 5400 RPM 8 MB? SATA II but is one of the hs so I'm wondering if I can be replaced by a more powerful style, drive HARD 750 GB 7200 RPM / min 16 MB Toshiba courses?

    Thank you

    Hey,.

Your question is a bit hard to understand, but I think you want to replace the HARD drive with another (faster) model, right?

Well, that s no problem. 7200 RPM hard drives works, they are a little stronger, but they're faster so if you need more performance without problem.
750 GB or more are also no problem because the SATA interface is not the limited capacity. Theoretically 1 TB or more should also work.

Anyway, you can buy the 750Go you mentioned that it will work. :)

  • How to replace the hard drive with an SSD on a model of end 2011 MacBook Pro 15 inch, A1286

    Hello

I would like to replace the hard drive on my model of end 2011 MacBook Pro 15 inch, A1286 with a disk solid state drive (SSD). First of all, I would like to know if this is possible. Second, what is the best way to do it? I'm under the Yosemite OS if that makes a difference.

Here are some technical details of my current system:

-MacBook Pro 15 inch, late 2011 model A1286

    -OS yosemite

    -16 GB of memory/RAM

    -Currently using stock HD

All instructions step by step would be helpful with what software should I use to make backups of my current operating system (e.g., SuperDuper). I would also like to know what tools or material I need like type of screwdriver, cables to transfer data to the SSD, etc.. My goal is to not have to reinstall each app one by one on the SSD, but if that's the only way to do it then it's okay.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You can see instructions OWC here. Tools are mentioned in the discussion (I used a plastic knife picnic with the stronger edge somewhat blunt for nylon pry tool). I suggest you invest in one of these external fences. Install the SSD in who and clone internally externally with CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper. Then move the external drive of the internal drive after the start of the SSD in the external to confirm the operation.

  • DV6-6119wm: HP Pavilion dv6-6119wm - replace the hard drive with a hard drive from a laptop Gateway

OK (deep breath). I have a dilemma, and I hope that you all can help me.

First of all, the HP laptop in question is a dv6-6119wm QE069UA #ABA, Windows 7 Home Premium.

A month ago, it began overheating and then blue screened on me with a fan error. I ran it while I was getting this error, which was a mistake, because according to me, he has finally caused the hard drive failure after enforcement of reset factory several times. But I'm getting ahead.

I replaced the fan and the heatsink myself. Another factory reset. Downloaded and installed all the updates of windows. Ran great for like a week with the exception of the fault 1 hard disk when I ran the Start Up Test.

Then when I restarted yesterday... He's dead, so he is dead.  Apparently, the hard drive failed completely and comes only a black screen telling me it cannot start.

So, I have this other model of Gateway laptop, NV55C26u which has stopped charging. I had to put it away and don't worry. I got out the hard drive and tried HP successfully. ! Sorta.

It considers that the HP is a gateway and as a result, none of the drivers are there for all the good stuffs HP. It cannot connect to the internet and does not recognize the USB flash drive. (I had downloaded all the drivers on another laptop and put them on a pious flash drive I could convince the hard drive it's HP again). Another hard drive WILL work in the dv6, and I had no errors on startup it upward.

I have no recovery discs or store bought Windows 7, all came with the laptop preinstalled. But I don't have my key to the label.

Then what should I do? I'm not exactly tech savvy, I know just enough to be dangerous haha, but I tend to go glassy when things get too technical. I thought I could get something Microsoft to reinstall my Windows but I guess they closed this path down a few months ago.

    I have access to 2 other laptops, both HP. A QE304UA of Pavilion G7 #ABA with Windows 7 Home Premium and a HP 250 G2 Portable F7V84UT #ABAwith Windows 7 Professional.

So basically in order to encapsulate this novel to the top, which can do here to fix my dv6? How can I convince this other HDD HP rather than Gateway? I can create something from one of these other HP laptops? Download something somewhere? I don't want to have to buy Windows again. I love this phone and need her in my life as a game.

    Please help me

You must do a clean install of Windows on them. The hard drive has drivers for completely different material. Too bad that you did not have your drive to retrieve the value. It would restore the hard drive to HP with all the drivers/software installed. It would depend if the hard disk is at least the same capacity or larger than the original. Recovery discs are reluctant to a smaller capacity hard drive.

You can order recovery Medai for about $16:

  • Do need me an adapter to replace the hard drive with an SSD

I want to know before I get out my drive if I need adapter to replace my old hard drive with a drive way SSD SSD drive to connect directly to a MacBook pro six, one?  Or do I need an adapter for the interface on the SSD

SATA SSD have the same footprint than conventional hard drives (some may be thinner than 2 mm, but the closing screws are adjusted for difference) Although adapters can be provided, you must not use in your MBP.  I installed three SSD in my Mac without adapters.

    Ciao.

You'll need is a mobile SATA 2.5 "SSD to replace the wisk hard legacy spinner with. I highly recommend that replace you it with the current disk cloning to the new.  This is the simplest method. See the sticky that I created in this section of the forum for more details on how it's done.

An SSD of 256 GB or higher capacity is recommended as a replacement for the disk hard legacy currently installed. An SSD of 256 GB or higher capacity will allow to use the recovery media that you created with the HP Recovery Media Creator utility.

See the following links to NewEgg.com to see what will work. You can use SATA, SATAII and SATAIII interface SSDS. None of the other types of interfaces are compatible with the motherboard and the BIOS of your laptop!

  • Replace the HARD drive with SSD on a T530 - noob question

    Hi all

I have a T530 with conventional hard drive. I want to replace it with an SSD (probably Samsung 840 Pro). When I look at the replacement Web site instructions, they refer to the use of spacers during the installation of an SSD (as opposed to rubber rails that frame apparently my current HARD drive).

Do I need these spacers in order to install an SSD? If so, should I buy Lenovo?

    Thank you very much

    Jason

If it's the same outer dimensions transfer you the rails on the replacement drive rubber. They add protection against shocks to the reader while an SSD is pretty shockproof. It does not float around well! If you do not use the rails lose you and probably never find them again if needed.

  • Replace the hard drive with SDS

    Hello!
I have a HP Pavilion dv2500 laptop and I want to replace my original HHD with a Samsung 840 EVO Solid State Hard Drive. The big question is: it'll work? It will take something special to make it work?

    Thank you!

It will work. The player will cost near what's worth the laptop, but it will work. If you are running Windows 7 or Windows 8 and especially Windows 8, the system adapts itself to a SSD so there is really nothing you have to do.

  • ProBook 6440 b: replace the HARD drive with SSHD on HP Probook 6440 b

    Hello
I am trying to replace the drive HARD original (Seagate Momentus 320 GB at 7200 RPM) with new SSHD (SSHD Sagate 500 GB;) REF: ST500LM0000). I've updated the BIOS without any problem for the F.60 Rev.A version (November 30, 2015). The operating system, I try to install from the DVD is Windows 10.

Problem is that the installation process of Windows this new disc see. At the step where you set up new partitions, the disk is not visible.

The installation process of Windows is an option to load drivers for the drive. It may be enough to have a driver. But I don't know which driver to use.

Could you please tell me how to correctly install a new drive? BIOS is somehow locked on the original disk? Or in what could be the problem?

I thank very you much for your time. I'm sorry for my bad English.

    Lukas

In the BIOS, try to assign device SATA AHCI Mode.

It's under Advanced > device configurations
