I can't load printer. Print spooler is missing.

My HP deskjet882c will not work. Said the missing print spooler.

First thing to do is to ensure that the print spooler just does not work but it is actually present on your machine.

Search in C:\Windows\system32 spoolsv.exe

If it is there, look in C:\Windows\system32\dllcache

If not, look for whole hard disk, to search in hidden files and folders, as well as system records for spoolsv (without the exe on the end).  Report what you find, including versions of file.

Post back to your search results.

  • print spooler is missing Windows xp services

Hi my daughter using a fujitsu siemens laptop running windows xp edition version 2002 service pack 3 family. We have tried to install 2 different printers, but always get says print spooler does not. I checked in the service and there is nothing indicated for printers or print spooler. I looked in c\windows 32 and there are 2 files of coil it but I do not know what to so that it reappears in the services and I can turn it on. can anyone help please?

Man that's great, as I must have contracted a virus that deleted my services print spooler. Made exactly as stated in the information and then rebooted and it works perfectly now. Really appreciate the help!

While it is definitely a good read, none of these links seem to tell you how to add the lack of Print Spooler Service and the Microsoft link certainly not will help you add the Service lacks and is a waste of time.

The Print Spooler Service missing Services, you must add it (how do you suppose that happened?).

I don't have XP Home Edition, but this method works on XP Pro and I do not see why it would be different.

Here's how to add the Print Spooler Service:

If your system is Windows XP Service Pack 3, you can add the Service of print spooler missing to your system by using a registry import.

Before making any changes to your registry, back up the registry with this free and popular tool:
    http://www.SnapFiles.com/get/ERUNT.html

Reinstall the missing Print Spooler Service by creating a registry file that you can import into your system (tested on Service Pack 3).

If you already have a registry entry for the Print Spooler Service, you can export it to a file and save it.  The following example is the code of a working XP Pro Service Pack 3 system generic registry.

Open notepad to create a new text file by clicking Start, run and enter in the box:

    notebook

Copy and paste the following lines of text into the new Notepad file:

    addspooler.reg

After you save the file, close Notepad.

Locate the file addspooler.reg on your desktop and double-click it.

Alternatively, you can right-click on the addspooler.reg file, choose open with... and select the registry editor which will then import the file.

Answer Yes to the following question: are you sure you want to add the information in the registry?

You should then see a message that information has been registered in the register.

I would restart at this stage to ensure that updates "stick."

Now you should see the Print Spooler Service and you can right click, choose Properties and (if she isn't already) set the startup type to automatic and start the service if it is not running after reboot.

Sine the Print Spooler Service should not be missed, I suggest you follow with this (or first):

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

  • MY TWO PRINTERS HAVE BEEN ERASED FROM MY SYSTEM (?). WHEN I HIT "ADD a PRINTER" TO RESTORE, I GET NONE CAN DO BECAUSE 'print SPOOLER IS NOT IN SERVICE. WHAT'S UP? HOW TO FIX?

My computer froze and I had to do an emergency stop.  When I restarted the next morning, the software for my two printers had magically been UNINSTALLED.  A blank page.  When I tried to add a printer: without success because "PRINT SPOOLER does NOT WORK".

How can I get my PRINT SPOOLER 'run' again?

What is an emergency stop valve?

Is this really what the message says, or does mean:

Operation could not be performed.  The print spooler service is not running.

To start the Print Spooler Service, click Start, run, and in the type box:

    services.msc

Click OK to open the Services Applet.

Locate the Print Spooler Service, right click and choose 'Properties' and then click on the 'Start' button to start the Print Spooler Service.

If it does not start, what (exactly).

The option "Startup Type" of Service properties print spooler is usually set to "Automatic" (which is now a good time to check it out).

If the "Startup type" is not set to "Automatic", set the "Startup type" to "Automatic" If that is your desire (which now is the time to check it out).

  • How can I activate my printer spooler

Hello, I am currently using Windows XP Home Edition and I was attacked by a Trojan virus. I could get the PC in safe mode and by installing an anti-malware program, but for some reason that I can't print more than the laptop.

Whenever I try to install the CD for my HP photosmart printer, it passes through the installation process and I am able to print after that I connected the USB cord to the laptop. But then when I restart the computer, my printer icon does not appear in the folder printer & faxes.
When I try to add my printer, a message that "the print spooler service is does not work."
What driver do I download on microsoft.com or is there another way I can activate the printer spooler in Windows XP?

  • Printer Spooler service does not

No apparent reason, I can print is no longer.  In Panel, printers and fax machines, no printer is listed despite the fact that there were at least two.  If I try to add a printer, I get the message Printer Spooler service does not. I was on the Microsoft site and loaded a convenience store who confirmed that the Printer Spooler service did not work but cannot fix it.  Not very useful at all.  Can anyone help.  I saw that a lot of old messages about this problem so it is not unique, but I'm really really stuck.

You can start the print spooler by using different techniques, which one is suggested by Saurabh Joshi.

Unfortunately, restart the print spooler generally fails to resolve the problem that caused the print spooler to stop in the first place.

Apart from malware (and you'd be well advised to scan your system to update MalwareBytes Anti-Malware and SUPERAntiSpyware), are two likely reasons that your print spooler stops printer driver has corrupted and (b) corrupt print job stuck in the print queue.

Start by removing the print queue.  With the print spooler stopped, go to C:\Windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS and delete the contents of the folder.  Do not delete the folder ...\PRINTERS himself.

Then, clean and reinstall the drivers for your printer.  See the instructions at http://www.coribright.com/windows/Article_One.htm
If you have a Lexmark printer, see this article for special instructions: http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm

  • DUFF1963 - how to enable printing spooling

Need help to enable printing spooling in Windows 7

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

We need information so that we can better understand the following question:

You have problems printing documents? If Yes, what is the complete error message you get?

The print spooler is an executable file that manages the printing process. Print management is to retrieve the location of the correct printer driver, load the driver, queue function calls high level in a test of the work, schedule the print job for printing and so on. The spooler is loaded at system startup and continues to run until the operating system is shut down

If you need to follow the steps provided below print spooler:

    1. Click on start.
    2. Type services.msc in the search box, click on it to open it.
    3. You can get the print spooler and double-click it to open it.
    4. If the service status is stopped, then Start the service and check if you are able to print.

If you encounter printing problems, you can run this fixit:

Hope this information helps. Please reply with the status so that we can help you.

  • Printer Spooler service is over. Impossible to acquire again by restarting

    a. click Start and select run , then type services.msc in the search box

    b. Locate the Printer Spooler service

    c. right-click on the service

    d. If the service is stopped and then Start the service

    e. Select properties, and then in startup type, select Automatic

    I hope this helps.

  • Print spooler does not work

Cannot print and all of my printer disappeared from my print list. Print spooler not working do not mistake

You can start the print spooler by clicking Start > run and type the following command in the box run and then click OK:

    net start spooler

The real question, however, is why the print spooler service is stopped and you should do to prevent it to stop again.

You have a recent antivirus application with an active subscription? Which one?

Have you scanned your system for malware using MalwareBytes Anti-Malware AND SUPERAntiSpyware ?  If this isn't the case, get these free scanners and do.  Do not forget to update before you scan them.

If you have never installed a Lexmark printer, follow the instructions in a single Article to remove and reinstall the drivers for your printer.

If you have or had a Lexmark printer, follow these directions as well (from http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm )

If you have a Lexmark printer , these additional steps may be necessary (thanks to Robert Orleth [MSFT] to provide this information).  Sometimes, the Lexmarkprinter installation process installs a service that makes dependentPrint Spooler service itself.  If there is a problem withservice Lexmark or a Lexmark printer driver (or you have removed using the procedure above),Print Spooler service does not start (see also http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324757 ).  The steps below makePrint Spooler service only on service (RPCSS) remote procedure (RPC) call, which is normal.  Print Spooler service dependencies are stored in the registry at

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Spooler\DependOnService

... The sc config command resets the value for this entry.

    1. Open a command prompt window

    2. the control key
sc config spooler depend = RPCSS

(Note the space after the = not before)

    3. Restart print spooler (see steps 8 and 9 above)

  • Vista print spooler problem

I'm on a Vista 64-bit operating system.  I have a Xerox printer wireless network.  I started having a month ago print spooler stops.  The problem can settle with a reboot.  Now the problem has appeared and will not disappear.  I can restart the print spooler, it will show that it is started, but when I try to add the printer I always get an error message that contains error code (0X00000ba).  I searched on the internet and see that this is not a unique problem, but I have yet to see a solution that works for me.  I followed the procedure of Microsoft to solve print spooler problems; one that's "Mr. Fix It".  That did not help.  I tried to go back to restore points more aged, but which did not help.  At this point I'm stuck on how to go forward.  Any suggestions?

The problem will be back because somewhere there is a bug. It's certainly specific centres of suspicion about Adobe Reader and pdf files. Some users have passed to Foxit, but while this may work for some, it is not the universal solution.

  • Windows 7 - print spooler starts is not after the October 14 update

I have a HP pavilian HPE running Windows 7 professional 64-bit.   After that the windows updates were installed on 14 October, the print spooler service does not start.  So yesterday I used the system restore to go back, and the problem was solved.  Today, I removed some old print drivers and re-installed updates, and now the print spooler service does not start again.

    What should do?

    Hi Matthew,

Thanks for posting on Microsoft Community.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. We will help you resolve the problem you are having with.

Before following the steps below, I would like to ask you a question in relation to your query.

You get an error message when the print spooler service stops?

Try these steps and see if it helps:

Step 1: Press the Windows key + R on the keyboard, type services.msc and press enter.

Step 2: You can get the Print Spooler Service in the window and double-click it.
Step 3: Check if the Startup type is set to Automatic. If this isn't the case, set it to automatic and restart your PC.
Step 4: Check if the Print Spooler Service restarts automatically on reboot (given that the startup type is set to automatic).

Step 5: Also check if the status shows running under the status column in the print spooler service.

    I hope this helps!

  • Can someone help me with the load or start the printer spooler?

I'm unable to print.  This is the error message.

I see an error message about "spooler" problems

A print spooler is software that temporarily stores the disk printing hard or in memory until the printer is ready to print.

If you were expecting an abnormally long time to print a document, or if you see an error message about the print spooler, you may have to restart the spooler to print on your computer.

To restart the spooler, the simplest method is to save your work and restart the computer. Alternatively, you can try the following steps:

To restart the print spooler service

    1. You must be logged on as administrator to perform these steps.

    2. Click Start, type: services , then press ENTER.

    3. Double-click Services.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    4. Right click on the print spooler service, and then click Properties.

    5. On the general tab, next to startup type, make sure that automatic is selected.

    6. If the service is not already running, under Service status, click Start and then click OK.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    If the problem persists:

I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the latest compatible drivers for Windows 7.

You can also run the troubleshooting of the printer.

    Open the printer Troubleshooter

Open the printer Troubleshooter by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooting, and then click Troubleshooting. Under hardware and sound, click on use printer.

  • How can I get my printer spooler running I get error 1075 when I try to start it

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

    Ideas:

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

If you see something like this:

Cannot start service on Local computer print spooler.
Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion.

    Error 1075 means "ERROR_SERVICE_DEPENDENCY_DELETED".

This means that there is some Service think that it depends on to start the Print Spooler Service that is missing.  It's maybe the printing or drivers that have been uninstalled software.

If really, the dependency service exists and simply not work (dependence, Services must be started and running), you will get an error like this:

Cannot start service on Local computer print spooler.
Error 1068: The dependency service or group could start.

You now or you already had all of the installed Lexmark printers?

If the Service print spooler used to work well, do you have added or removed all printers since he worked?

To view your Services, click Start, run and enter in the box:

    services.msc

Click OK to open the Services Applet.

Highlight the Print Spooler Service, right-click and choose properties you can see what is happening.  You will be especially interested in the startup (generally set to automatic) type and the items listed in the Dependencies tab.

Always print spooler Service usually depends on the remote procedure call (RPC) Service is running, so if the remote procedure call (RPC) Service is not running, find it in your Services, launch it and set the startup type to automatic.

If the remote procedure call (RPC) Service is not listed as a dependency for the Print Spooler Service, you can add it.

You must see what Services depends on your Print Spooler Service, and then restart them (and their startup type automatic value), or if you have the dependency Services listed for items that are more installed on your system, you must inform the print spooler that she needs more of them to start.  Registered Addiction Services that are no longer needed must be removed.

For example, I said to my Print Spooler Service depends on the remote procedure call (RPC) Service, and also depends on the Service Jose (and of course there is no Jose service).

When I try to start my Print Spooler Service, I get an error 1075.  It's logical.

If I look at the Print Spooler Service properties Dependencies tab in the applet Services however, it does not list the Jose Service as a dependency, but if I query the Print Spooler Service broken from a command prompt, I can see what ir really depends on to start and it looks like this:

    [SC] GetServiceConfig SUCCESS

    Service_Name: Spooler
    TYPE: 110 WIN32_OWN_PROCESS (interactive)
    STARTUP TYPE: 2 AUTO_START
    ERROR_CONTROL: 1 NORMAL
    BINARY_PATH_NAME: C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe
    LOAD_ORDER_GROUP: SpoolerGroup
    TAG                               : 0
    Display_name: Print spooler
    DEPENDENCIES: rpcss
    Jose
    SERVICE_START_NAME: LocalSystem

I need to delete the Service jose as a dependency for the Print Spooler Service (and leave just the rpcss Service), then the Print Spooler Service will start.

If you don't see the problem in the Print Spooler service dependencies tab, see what are actually of a command prompt window Print Spooler Service dependencies.  To do this, click on start run and in the type box:

    cmd

Click OK to open a command prompt window.

In the command prompt window, query the spooler to print (spooler) Service by entering the following command:

    sc qc spooler

Whatever it is listed under needs of DEPENDENCIES is running before starting the print spooler.

If there are DEPENDENCIES listed for things that are more installed, you can fix it, but first of all, we need to know what is indicated, then we can remove the ones that are not needed.

If you make adjustments, do not forget to restart your system and make sure that changes "stick".

Do, or do not. There is no test.

Someone please tell me how to make figgy pudding like these kids keep saying they won't until they get some.

I'm not Bruce (although I can see why you might have thought if :-)).

You haven't seen a 'Version 3' as in this picture (or, as Bruce page, may be Version 2 or both):

It can be a bit difficult to find the utility appropriate among everything in the Resource Kit.  Try to download just cleanspl.exe there--> http://honestpchelp.com/2011/cleanspl-exe-print-spooler-cleaner/ (which is not my site, but I downloaded the file in the past and it seems to be both authentic and malware-free).
