Replaces Windows XP Firefox?

With the imminent removal of support for Windows XP, I was wondering if Firefox will replace Windows XP.

Sorry, I don't mean XP. Thanks a lot for the info! I guess it's just time to let go the old laptop and upgrade. She has been a reliable old girl! Laughing out loud. Thanks again!

  • Uncloseable pop-up windows in firefox for mac

    Hello

Some Web sites will open the pop-up windows, even if I have a pop-up blocker enabled.

The problem with these pop-up windows, it is that they have the option close as for other windows of Firefox for Mac.

This results in the ToolTip remains open and the only way I can get rid of it is to stop completely from Firefox.

    Any help will be appreciated.

Maybe you could try the keyboard shortcut command + W (close the current tab) or command + SHIFT + W (close the current window) when the pop-up window appears in the foreground.

    I use Firefox version 38.0.5, Windows 7
Since the update Ctrl + C shortcut does not work in the main window of Firefox. (I can't copy text from any website using Ctrl + C).

Click right and using the copy in the menu works perfectly. CTRL V and Ctrl X work fine without problem.

Ctrl C works fine when copying text from the address bar and search bar, I just can't copy anything from anything in the main window of firefox.

I tried to run Firefox in safe mode, I have also reset firefox and a virus scanner, but nothing has solved the problem.

The current version supports the white-space for a text box property and it is possible that the Web site uses spaces: pre instead of spaces: pre wrap.
The former will prevent Firefox of text wrapping.

You can check that out in the Inspector via the context menu.

    See:

The white-space property is currently working on HTML < textarea > (bug 82711) elements.

    Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

    • In previous versions of Firefox, click on the Firefox button in the upper left of the Firefox window and click help (or click on help in the Menu bar, if you do not have a Firefox button) and click on restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Mode safe mode as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

Gmail doesn't have to be open in a tab. But Firefox must be run.
Add on has enough parameters to customize it to your liking.

Maybe not for you but there is also a nice for Google calendar calendar add-on.

    Huh, that's news...

You can try Firefox in Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. I think that it is an extension.

    • Run firefox.exe - safe-mode in the search bar in the Start Menu. (Make sure Firefox is closed)

Have you added new extensions recently around the time this started happening? The details of your system displays the following:

    Thank you.

Such a download is usually recorded in a updates or updates folder in the program folder or the Firefox application.
You can delete this folder to cancel the download.

If the files have already been downloaded, then delete the files in the folder updates\0 and updates.

    Mac: /Applications/Firefox.app/updates "/path_to/Firefox.app/Updated.app"
    Linux: "/path_to/firefox/updated"

Yes, we can open several tabs, but cannot get more than 1 session running at the same time.
Is there any solution for this?

    Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • Under Windows, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key option key when starting Firefox.
    • Under Linux, you can open Firefox 4.0 + with leaving Firefox then go to your Terminal and running Safe Mode: firefox-safe-mode (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)
    • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. It might help others who have the same problem.

  • When I switch to 20 of Firefox, I can open only 1 window of Firefox using Windows XP

    Using Windows XP with SP3
If you use Firefox 7 I am able to open multiple windows of Firefox
When I switch to 20 Firefox I can open only 1 window of Firefox

How am I able to open multiple windows of Firefox using Firefox 20?

Firefox (or Windows) display an error message if you try to open a second window?

Or is the problem change the menu (orange button Firefox) compact in Firefox 20? In Firefox 20, new window is now a choice secondary on the new tab, as shown in the attached screenshot. Historically, I press Ctrl + n, I didn't notice that until that earlier.

Edit: For the record, it is indeed Firefox 21 in the screenshot.

  • Why are the texts and logos on the tabs do on new windows of firefox?

Opening a new window of firefox, the text on the tab (for example Mozilla Firefox Start Page) and the logo to the left of this one first becomes misaligned, almost as if the text has been "cut in half" vertically and not place back together with precision. The button fullscreen and him "open a new tab" button overlap too on the upper right side.

To access the full mode screen, cmd + ctrl + F must be pressed twice. Once to get back to 'normal' browser how the tabs should look like, with the text of the tab and the normal logo, and the second time it gets full screen.

What happens whenever a new window opens. Only happens once per window.
