Required rpm for suse linux 11 for 11.2.0.3 installation

Hi all

OS - SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (x86_64)

DB - 11.2.0.3

I install 11.2.0.3 on suse linux for prerequisites, I get an error message for the packages needed, someone can tell me where to download these packages.

I don't have the DVD, so I can't mount and install the rpm. Of zypper I get this error

expdev1: ~ # zypper install libstdc ++-3.4.6

Loading repository...

Reading installed packages...

«libstdc ++ not found-3.4.6'.»

Resolution of dependencies of the package...

Nothing to do.

Can someone help me in this

I went once more thanks to this document for the packages needed and the list of package warnings that I got.

I checked each package by 'rpm - q' as mentioned and I found that all the required packages are already installed, but during the installation of oracle, is giving the alert to the new list of packages which i think is not necessary at all, and also they are not mentioned in the document so again I think it's a behavior when installing on vmware. The solution is to ignore and continue what I ordered, the installation is completed without error.

I found somewhere to change the configuration file before installation to avoid these warnings.

  • SUSE Linux Enterprise for VMware - Install source?

    Hello. I am trying to find a definitive answer on this.

    Assuming that all other prerequisites are met (active license of SnS, qualification VMware SKU, etc.), is it mandatory that the virtual machine (s) of SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 SP2 is installed from ISO who deploys the custom VMware of SLES or existing usable ISO unbranded version?

    VMware site does not make clear if the branded version to be used. I sent a question to support, but I'm covering all angles as this has not yet been answered.

    Thank you

    Gary

    I Don t know how SuSE / Novell is the manipulation of a permit to put into perspective, but I can tell you that there are different keys.

    Can´t activate you a VMware SLES version with a 'normal' SLES license and not the reverse.

    And that means that if you have only the SLES VMware licenses, you must use the ISO VMware.

    Hi JRCLNSIN100,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forums.

    We would like to get some more information from you to help solve your problem. You better, please answer the following questions.

    ·         What is the disk you use to reinstall?

    ·         Is this a recovery or reinstalling the disc you are using?

    ·         When exactly do you get this error message?

    ·         What is the edition of Windows Vista, you try to install?

    ·         How old is the drive that you are using?

    ·         How are you starting the installation process?

    After researching the error 0x8007000D code is essentially due to file corruption and a problem with the drive itself.

    First check if you have scratches or dust on the disc and clean the surface and try again.

    To check if the disk is wrong, you will need to copy the contents of the DVD to the hard drive and try to install using that.

    To perform a flat installation of Windows Vista, follow these steps.

    Note The hard disk must have at least 3 GB of free space on the disk for the Windows Vista installation files. The hard disk must have at least 15 GB of additional disk space to install Windows Vista. For more information about system requirements for Windows Vista, see the Microsoft Web site at the following address:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/products/windowsvista/editions/SystemRequirements.mspx

    1. Insert the Windows Vista installation disc.
    2. Start Windows Explorer.
    3. In Windows Explorer, click to select the drive for the Windows Vista installation disc.
    4. On the Edit menu, click select all.
    5. On the Edit menu, click copy.
    6. Click to select the hard disk you want to contain the flat installation files.
    7. On the file menu, point to new, click the folder, type Windows Vista Setupand then press ENTER.
    8. Double-click the Windows Vista Setup program, and then click Paste on the Edit menu.
    9. Double-click Setup.exe, and then follow the instructions that appear.

    See the link below for more information on flat installation.

    This problem can also occur if the firmware of the DVD drive is defective or obsolete.

    If the step above does not resolve the question suggests that you install the latest drivers for the DVD player on the computer.

  • VG202 and the VG204 requires licenses for CME?

    Hello

    VG202 and the VG204 requires licenses for CME?

    Reference number?

    Thank you

    Hello

    You men user license, the registration as EPSC ports? If so, let's say that Yes.

    When one of the FXS ports as SCCP that you use an instance of user, or one of the available ephone register, so if you're wondering if adding to the CMF as SCCP FXS ports, Yes, it will decrese the amount of phones that you have available to the general public.

    On the other hand, if you use the VG20X with h.323 or SIP to the CMF it will not use the ephone instances, so you shouldn't worry about this.

  • Requiring authentication for SMTPS, but not for SMTP

    Hi all

    On a cluster hive, beehive.domain.com, we created 2 endpoints for each SMTP and IMAP, a safe and the other normal, like this, users can connect to two ports (25 + 465 and 143 + 993).

    Endpoint on the secure ports were created to allow direct access from the outside to redirect the only secure ports (465 (smtp) and 993 (imap) through the firewall to the cluster of the hive.) I don't massively secure and that there is an instance of hive DMZ for this effect, but that is for later.

    Question: Is is possible to require authentication to use only secure SMTP port and not the normal? The idea being, inside the LAN users port 25 to send all the emails that Beehive will relay all emails coming from domain.com, authentication is not required it would disrupt some applications that need to send email. However, we want to prevent Mr. spammer to send his stuff from external identity spoofing the this address is @domain.com

    Any suggestions? I read in another post that one idea is to create an additional for the SMTP Protocol Secure alone, VMS as it is possible to have the identification required at the level of the virtual machines. who is?

    Kind regards

    David

    Hi David,

    fix, create a new VMS recvssl endpoint:

    beectl add_configuration_object - type 'oracle.ocs.management.model.EmailService.SMTPProperties.VMSProperties '.

    CONFIG_OBJECT_ID = da9444a0-2e3e-45e7-b5f2-98945514c6de

    name the component modify_property beectl VMSName - value SmtpSslVMS da9444a0-2e3e-45e7-b5f2-98945514c6de

    append_value - name of the component _EmailService:SMTPProperties VMSPropertiesList value da9444a0-2e3e-45e7-b5f2-98945514c6de beectl

    There was a BUG in 1.4.X beekeeper. So I post you the command line procedure. After that configures "Require AUTH" for this endpoint. This you can configure beekeeper.

    See you soon,.

  • R12 Quick Installation on Suse Linux or Oracle Linux fails

    Hello

    I tried several combinations of operating systems to try and install correctly using the Oracle R12 / quick installation but I could not. My last attempt was on Suse Linux 10. When the installation wizard is complete, database checks are successful but HTTP server is unresponsive and all subsequent checks fail.

    The reading of google and the various threads on this forum, I found that for Oracle Linux, we must apply the patch that contains libdb.so.2. Since then, I do not have an account to support oracle, I cannot get this fix and based on rules, no body can send it in an email, which means that we can not install this distribution on Oracle Linux without having to pay for the supported. Since then, it is a learning exercise without the use of serious production of R12 apps, we do not have any arrangement with Oracle support.

    For Suse, I also have the same problem, but when I try to start the opmn manually using opmnctl beginning, she responds with message, began. But when I use opmn stopall, the computer stops responding. Now, I don't know yet how to start debugging this problem.

    I would give just to try to install it or there at - it a hope?

    Thank you.

    Hello

    I finally managed to install R12 on Suse Linux Enterprise 10 SP3. I decided to start again after a repair for the past two days. Here's the process:

    a. install Suse Enterprise 10 SP3 with office and all development packages offered in the facility.

    b. click the computer--> install the software--> search for the 'db1 '. It will give you two or more packages. Install db1_185xx (from Berkley). This provides a required libdb.so.2.

    c. then go through the installation as outlined in the instructions using rapidwiz.

    It fills correctly and I can see the login screen now.

    Now, I need to know how to put in place to automatically start all services after startup.

    Thank you for your help.

  • Problems with Qosmio G20 and SuSE Linux 10.3 installation

    Hello

    I can't install SuSE Linux 10.3, because the hard drive will not be detected.
    I think it's the Software Raid... in the BIOS are only the options of Raid 0 and JBOD. When I changed to JBOD, it says I need to install the new os.
    Windows XP Professional is installed on the computer and I want to have a system to dual-boot with Open SuSE 10.3.
    How can I solve the problem?

    MfG

    Man... that's a really complicated problem.

    First of all, please consult this site unofficial toshiba official: http://linux.toshiba-dme.co.jp/linux/eng/pc/QosG20_report.htm

    West a complete report on your machine where all material etc. are described. The two entries on the bottom of the site describe the problem that you have.

    Another good friend called 'google' redirected me [THIS | http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=574116] site.

    You see, it s a problem since your RAID controller is not correctly recognized by some kernels/distributions.
    I have no perfect solution for you, but I propose to try another distro (since there are hundreds of them) who could probably work with your machine.

    The best would be to visit www.google.com and type something like "Qosmio G20 linux raid". Trust me, you will get many results. :)

    Keep rocking with linux ;)

    Welcome them

  • SUSE Linux 10.1 on M50 - 216 Live

    Hello

    Sorry for the lousy title, I couldn't think how it better word.

    Anyway, I'm trying to boot Suse Linux 10.1 Live on my laptop, it starts Suse very well at the beginning but after selecting Gnome or KDE, the boot stops, saying that it cannot find the DVD, it has been initialized from. Ubuntu 6.06 or Kubuntu 6.06 will start, the two failure 'root filesystem mounting.

    I had an older version of Knoppix (3.7), hang out, so gave that a go and it starts correctly, is not a problem.

    I downloaded the iso different sites official and md5 checking before burning and burning at the slowest speed.

    Expert linux out there who can help me get Ubuntu or Suse Live to boot on my machine, or alternatively recommend a different Linux operating system that would work. Preference using Gnome.

    The DVD player is a TEAC DV-W28EAT.

    Thanks for your help.

    Update

    After a bit of reading on my laptop, and others like him, I gave the Live of Mandriva 2006 version a try, and it works fine and all my hardware id correctly.

    Looks like I'll go with Mandriva instead of SuSE.

    Hello

    Thanks for the update information.
    As you know Linux is not supported on Toshiba laptops and in this case you want to use Linux should experiment a little more.
    I use Knoppix. It is a good solution because it starts from the live CD and it is not necessary to install anything.
    However, thanks again for the information that Mandriva 2006 works correctly on your device.

  • How to automatically start Oracle on SUSE Linux

    I have Oracle 11g installed on a server running SUSE Linux 11. I followed the official Oracle instructions to try to implement the Oracle for an automatic start.

    My/etc/oratab file contains the following:

    sidname:/opt/oracle/product/11gR2/db:Y

    I created a /etc/init.d/dbora file that contains the following:

    #! /bin/sh  -x
    #
    # Change the value of ORACLE_HOME to specify the correct Oracle home
    # directory for your installation.

    ORACLE_HOME=/opt/oracle/product/11gR2/db
    #
    # Change the value of ORACLE to the login name of the
    # oracle owner at your site.
    #
    ORACLE=oracle

    PATH=${PATH}:$ORACLE_HOME/bin
    HOST=`hostname`
    PLATFORM=`uname`
    export ORACLE_HOME PATH
    #
    if [ ! "$2" = "ORA_DB" ] ; then
       if [ "$PLATFORM" = "HP-UX" ] ; then
          remsh $HOST -l $ORACLE -n "$0 $1 ORA_DB"
          exit
       else
          rsh $HOST -l $ORACLE  $0 $1 ORA_DB
          if [ "$PLATFORM" = "Linux" ] ; then
              touch /var/lock/subsys/dbora
          fi
          exit
       fi
    fi
    #
    case $1 in
    'start')
            $ORACLE_HOME/bin/dbstart $ORACLE_HOME &
            ;;
    'stop')
            $ORACLE_HOME/bin/dbshut $ORACLE_HOME &
            ;;
    *)
            echo "usage: $0 {start|stop}"
            exit
            ;;
    esac
    #
    exit

    So I ran the following commands:

    chgrp dba /etc/init.d/dbora
    chmod 750 /etc/init.d/dbora
    ln -s /etc/init.d/dbora /etc/rc.d/rc0.d/K01dbora
    ln -s /etc/init.d/dbora /etc/rc.d/rc3.d/S99dbora
    ln -s /etc/init.d/dbora /etc/rc.d/rc5.d/S99dbora
    shutdown -r now

    After the reboot, Oracle did not work:

    server:~ # ps -fea | grep ora
    root      2681  2563  0 21:18 ?        00:00:00 hald-addon-storage: no polling on /dev/fd0 because it is explicitly disabled
    root      2688  2563  0 21:18 ?        00:00:00 hald-addon-storage: polling /dev/sr0 (every 2 sec)
    root      4491  4333  0 21:19 pts/1    00:00:00 grep ora
    server:~ # ps -fea | grep lsnr
    root      4493  4333  0 21:19 pts/1    00:00:00 grep lsnr

    Oracle works very well after the start of the instance (by logging in as "sys as sysdba" sqlplus and the command 'boot') and the listener. But it will not start automatically after the server is restarted. Why is this?

    I got it to work.  I had to change the file released to look like this:

    #! /bin/sh  -x
    #
    # Change the value of ORACLE_HOME to specify the correct Oracle home
    # directory for your installation.

    ORACLE_HOME=/opt/oracle/product/11gR2/db
    #
    # Change the value of ORACLE to the login name of the
    # oracle owner at your site.
    #
    ORACLE=oracle

    PATH=${PATH}:$ORACLE_HOME/bin
    export ORACLE_HOME PATH

    touch /var/lock/subsys/dbora

    case $1 in
    'start')
            su - $ORACLE $ORACLE_HOME/bin/dbstart $ORACLE_HOME &
            ;;
    'stop')
            su - $ORACLE $ORACLE_HOME/bin/dbshut $ORACLE_HOME &
            ;;
    *)
            echo "usage: $0 {start|stop}"
            exit
            ;;
    esac
    #
    exit

    Then I had to delete the files auto_listener.sh and startup.log in $ORACLE_HOME because they were incorrectly owned by root.

    Thank you Angelika

    Angelika,

    I found an announcement similar on my oracle support with the same error message in OS SUSA, only different DB platform. Doc-ID 852114.1. The solution is to create a symbolic link for env command under "/ bin" folder from/usr/bin/env as below:

    ln-s/usr/bin/env env

    Run above the command as user root of the folder "/ bin".

    It will be useful,
