  I have a router WRT54GS I want install Wireless with my Windows XP desktop that has only an installed wireless adapter. There is no ethernet on the pc port. I have reviewed the Stickys are and read that FAQ, but still did not find a response stating clearly how to set up the router without using an ethernet cable connected to the pc.   This problem is usually caused by suboptimal communication between the computer and the router. The most common cause for this is a computer software firewall problem, but there are also several other possible causes:

  To view web pages of the router (and to solve problems "Cannot save settings"):

  You don't need an Internet connection. 'web Pages' of the router are integrated into the router.
  Use Internet Explorer, it usually works.
  JavaScript must be enabled.
  Use a computer that is connected to the router.
  In the non-working computer, temporarily disable your firewall software.
