Resize a picture on a blank canvas

It must be easy, but I can of course understand how do.  I created a blank canvas (new file) 3.5 x 5.5 inches.  I then opened a photo and drag it from the window 'View files open' to the blank canvas in the main editing window.  The photo is larger and much, much, but I can't figure out make sizing handles appear so I can drag the corner of the photo and the size (in fact a part of the photo) to fit on the white canvas.  Using Adobe Elements said to double click on the photo to display the sizing handles, but it doesn't matter.  Help!

Thank you.

Click on the move tool. Then click inside the image.

    Hi guys,.

Is it possible to resize a picture to fill the canvas size according to height?

Currently when I place an image, it fits on width, being a landscape on a canvas portrait image I need to fill the height.

Any suggestions on the best way to do it, maybe an action?

If the image containing or the picture may vary in dimensions/dimensions a Scripting approach would seem prudent.

In the contrary case, a conditional Action may be enough.

  • How to resize a picture in LR 4.2?

I want to resize a picture in LR, so the size of the resulting file is reduced? Is the only way to create a preset to export?

    Bob

You do not necessarily have to create an export preset, but for a smaller image, it will be necessary to export a copy. You can crop images in Lightroom, but that does not reduce the size of the file, because all the data of the image is retained. Your original images are your master files. And while you may need a smaller version for email or for other purposes, the idea is to let your images intact in case masters the other purposes which are in need of something different.

  • In CS4 crop tool captures a blank canvas unwanted outside the image

I'm a bit puzzled by the crop tool in CS4 compared with CS2 and earlier versions.  The most irritating feature is the following: in CS4, the marquis does not lock the edge of the image; Instead, it easily moves outside the file area, capturing extra blank canvas.  The result is a lot of waste of time zooming in and fixing the problem after the fact by the projection of splinters of canvas of extra unwanted.  Is there a way set a preference so that the marquis of trimming stops at the edge of the file, as it did in earlier versions of photoshop?

Don't forget to choose the view > Snap to > Document limits.

You can get Irfanview (www.irfanview.com) and resize the image with it.  You must set the DPI to 96, and the size of the image in the range of 640 x 480 or 800 x 600 and then save it with a file with medium compression jpg extension.  I don't know twitter plug, but who should do it.

  • How can I place several smaller images of varying size on one page for printing without losing the original size.  Board contact option to resize my pictures

Does anyone know how to place several small pictures on a single page, so I can print them out as a rather print over and over again.  I want to maintain the original size of the images that vary somewhat.  I tried to use the option of the Board-contact, but he seems to want to resize my images which unfortunately is of no use to me.  I tried to cut and paste on a new page, but I don't think that it is now the original size.

Alternative applications sometimes can provide quick and easy results.

It might be interesting to download the demo version of Photoline: it includes a simple Board-contact option that allows for images to be included without loss of resolution, i.e. the original is left intact and the proportions remain unchanged. Since Photoline also supports documents several pages, all the thumbnails are collected into rows and columns, the user can control and the end result can be exported as PDF.

    -Download the trial of pl32.com

-Open Photoline, then open the browser (CTRL/CMD (B)

-Navigate to your folder with the images you want to combine for printing.

-right mouse click in the thumbnail view, and then select "Create image Catalog.

-Select the page by Page size

-under 'Size' define the number of rows and columns (there are here a translation error: "Spalten (COL) / rows (lines)".)

-Uncheck "scale photos physically." This ensures that the original images are intact and incorporated in full resolution.

    And then click OK.

Some of the other testing devices until you get a satisfactory result. Then export it to PDF.

  • Why when I resize a picture looks less sharp and bad quality?

I use Photoshop for CS3 and have never had this problem before. I used to create websites using WordPress for clients and have created many images of different logo with no problems. Now, however I do for muself and I have problems when I resize the images for web use.

Here are a few examples. The first is a picture of 1400 x 1400 that I will use for a podcast. iTunes requires this size, and it looks good in my eyes. When you look at the resized picture but you will see that it is not quite as strong.

    1400 x 1400 http://d.PR/i/SrtJ

    300 x 300 http://d.PR/i/IqtI

    Logo to http://safetydad.NET

    Twitter page http://Twitter.com/thesafetydad

I tried different things to be beautiful at any size but not to watch this only when the image is resized (especially by a CMS or Twitter) he looks like crap. I tried saved as png, jpeg, flatteing before resizing, sizing of the psd, recording to JPEG then resizing, using save for web option, but no matter what it does not look good.

    What I am doing wrong?

When you resize it down, you will lose some sharpness because this is removal of the pixels of the image, and Photoshop is trying to figure out how to remove pixels and roll up the edges of the image... So, when some of this backstory is removed, it begins to blur. Make sure that when the downward revision to an image (image - image size) that you assign the sharper bicubic resampling. This will help reduce the blur of the deletion of pixels.

In addition, you can go to filter - sharpen - sharpening - and work on bringing some of the sharpness it back as well.

For your twitter logo - I would make a logo for it, because the text is difficult to read on it. Sorry - just my opinion here.

You have tried these things already - but if not - I hope it helps

On the other note - I think you might be hyper-critical of changes...

  • Automatically resize a layer to adjust the canvas

    Hello!

Is there a way to quickly evolve a selected layer so that it fits the canvas of a PS document? I need to load several high resolution images in a small canvas and for the moment the only way I know to resize images to fit the canvas is for them the scale manually by using the free transform.

In Adobe After Effects, you have the opportunity to evolve a layer automatically to fit the size of the publication (horizontally or vertically). Is there any option in Photoshop?

    Any help will be appreciated!

  • Resizing a picture of structure within a DLL using the memory manager

    Hi all

I dug deep inside the rooms, but has failed to find a solution to my problem.

I am building a dll, which made a few imageprocessing and must return an array of structures to labview, with a struct for each element of the image.

Because I do not know the number of items in advance and at the limit of the number is a number of magnitude higher than expected, I don't want to allocate such a huge part of memory before the dll call in labview.

In an older version, I used a table 2d for the elements, where each line contains the values of each element. Here I used the function NumericArrayResize, which worked very well. But I have to add several subprocesses and using structs (or clusters in labview) seems to be more useful and more clean to me, I had also some items back and Foreword climb several times.

For example, a struct element must take 2 single beds and 1 uint32. My question now is, how can I resize this table of struct with memory manager, functions as the NumericArrayResize functions is not suitable for this purpose?

(Access to an array of structures inside the DLL and after reading the changed values in Labview is surprisingly easy )

    Thanks in advance

Well, I was able to solve it myself. I found this thread, where the first rolfk post made me think. It seems to me that the numericarrayresize function behaves very similar to the function realloc of c. so I used the unsigned int type 8 (which is just a byte) and multiplied by the number of bytes used by a struct, in my case 12 bytes (4 + 4 + 4) and multiplied it by the number of structures (elements of the image) I. Fortunately, it worked and the block of memory has been resized, exactly as I wanted it to be. Important note: do not forget to adjust the size of the handle element, otherwise Labview does not know the size has changed.

  • Resize a picture also across all of all breakpoints?

    Hello Muse Forum,

When I place an image responsive Muse, and then resize the image, resizing does not occur on all breakpoints from the page.  Then I need to resize in all other breakpoints that takes time.  Is it possible that when you resize an image, it can then occur through breakpoints?

    Thank you

    Hi JD,

After resizing the image, you can simply right-click on it and choose "copy size and position to > all breakpoints ' option.

Let me know if it works.
