Hello. I bought a new 6830 yesterday and I have a problem of scaling a PDF file to print. When I got back the PDF file, the image is reduced in the file, but prints in original format. Today, I visited the Adobe site and found a page called Acrobat PDF Help/Basic printing tasks. According to Adobe, when I open the print dialog window, I can change the page to shrink or expand by setting the size I choose in the scale box:
Custom scale Resizes the page by the percentage you specify.
However, my window of dialogue has no custom scale option. I'm starting to wonder if this printer allows resizing. Any suggestions? Thank you.
I installed the driver, Officejet Pro 6830 and it allows resizing in Adobe Reader 11.0.10. I suggest to update to the latest version of Adobe Reader.

I can't resize the pdf file using acrobat CC, any help please?
Hi guys, I am trying to download a pdf file in an application for visa online, but it consists in asking me to use distiller adobe instead of pdf online sites from resizing. I have Acrobat DC, but it doesn't do anything when I click in the resizing option in Save as.
OK, you can try to reduce the size of the file to save as options of Acrobat (file size reduced to simple, optimized PDF for more control).
Of course. It cannot succeed sometimes, for example if there are photos that have too much detail, for example.
What happens when you try? And what kind of discount Miss do you?

My saved PDF files is too large. How to resize them
I have scanned and saved several documents in PDF files. However, they are too big, that some a page made for example up to 7 MB! The site of the State that I am trying to download these said too that they are too big. How to record their most small?
Hello
You could save them as PDF size reduced by using Acrobat or you could also optimize them for more control.
You get these two options in Acrobat under the option "Save as."

How to resize pdf file to reduce its size
Help
Hi marku,.
You can use Acrobat to reduce PDF file size. There are several options: Save as > PDF of reduced size and save under > optimized PDF (Acrobat Pro).
You are welcome to try Acrobat free for 30 days. See http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html for more information.

Prepare a form in a PDF file is very slow
I just downloaded Adobe Acrobat to give it a try and convert a PDF file into a form to fill out. So far so good, but he began to be so slow, I have to wait for like 40 seconds each time I have move or resize something, so it's unbearable! First of all, I see the clock and then the beachball begins to turn for almost a minute. I restarted the application, then the iMac and nothing changes.
This is the latest possible (I think!) and I use the latest version of OSX in my iMac. The PDF is 1 MB, only a single page.
Is there something I can do to speed things up?

I need to edit pdf files (scanned) from different people, change in Adobe sketch and e mail the PDF with changes in return. This must be done using only an Ipad.
The problem is that I can't do so only using an Ipad, because I do not know how to open the mail PDF in Adobe Sketch. So I need a computer to place the PDF in MyAssets on creative cloud first. I also installed dobe CD player and placed the file in the clouds of the Document, because I thought that the Document and the designer Cloud cloud would somehow between them. But no luck so far.
If I ask someone who knows a way to do it, to explain it to me.
Thank you
Hi Lukearh,
my penny on this issue. I'm starting to a point that the file is easily traceable. Like a sketch of a logo or something.
The pdf file arrives on an ipad, right? So, open the PDF and take a screenshot of the file if it is open (which is done by clicking at the same time the sleep button on the top and the button on the screen of your ipad at home). Then you will have your PDF saved in your camera as an image.
Once on film, then open adobe sketch and use use the icon to import an image second icon to the left, in the sketch menu, it looks like a picture with two mountains and the Sun). Resize the screen and work top of tracing.
Now I could give you a very naïve solution, but the only way I could find to solve your problem if you really work on iPad only

Improvement of the quality of the shots taken from a PDF file and inserted in Indesign
I took a snapshot of a page on a PDF document. The PDF file has been created as a 'press '. When I stuck in Indesign, the image is blurry. I went to Adobe reader to change the settings in preferences > General to obtain the highest possible pixels (720 per inch) but it made no difference. When I pasted the snapshot in Indesign, it was very blurry. It seems that Indesign did something for the image to make it fuzzy. Does anyone know how to fix this please?
Hello
You should not need to take a snapshot of the PDF file - it can be placed in indesign using the file > Place. If it's a multiple page PDF, hold the SHIFT key when you click on the spot and the import dialog appears. You can choose the page that you need and once the PDF file is placed you can crop or resize accordingly.
Please keep in mind that Indesign shows a proxy for placed images low resolution. You can see a preview of resolution higher by changing your display settings to high quality screen.
Kind regards

How can I insert another PDF file into an existing PDF page
Here is some information. I used to use Acrobat 5 (I know it's really old, but it worked fine for my needs, but it's time to upgrade). I have a document PDF 1 page that exists (for example, an invoice). Sometimes in Excel I create additional supporting details/calculations/etc that I have to place on the Bill. In the past I would print my Excel document to PDF using PDF Broadgun (great tool!) - and I would like to continue to do that. Then I'd go in Acrobat 5, open to the top of my invoice PDF 1 page document, can I use the shape tool, insert the icon and select my right to 'support' on the 1st page PDF document. If necessary, I could resize and place anywhere on the paper invoice/PDF 1 existing page that I started with, then the resolution is great (i.e. without "grainy" appearances, etc.).
I've now upgraded to Acrobat Pro XI (Finally, technically I'm test to ensure he'll will meet my needs - well, until I came across this). I tried to copy the data Excel directly in my invoice PDF document, but it's often times the super object large (away from the page from left to right) and then I have to resize (significantly smaller) in order to adapt it to the page. This causes the resizing of the text that should appear "grainy".
So pretend that my original invoice/PDF 1 page document took the top 1/2 of the page. Then, in Excel I create a backup that is say 5-10 lines of calculations. How can I get the Excel save as Image in my document 1 original page (and on the 1 page)? The only work that I found so far about is to be inserted as the last past, then to highlight the new features in Excel, cut and copy on page 1 (these seems like extra stages in my eyes, but it does not work).
I also want to avoid using the screen snip-it, snagit and several other tools for the following reasons:
1. I don't want to remove the gridlines in Excel (that is, when you print from Excel, the grid lines do not print by default)
2. I use Broadgun PDF to generate a PDF file (i.e. electronic print) and then the document/data looks exactly as I want it to look like if I had printed physically
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for help also.
Other details: Windows 7 Pro, use of the company
I don't see what the problem is with the print to PDF using the Adobe PDF printer as you did with the other tool. Open your new PDF Excel, then do the same process as before (assuming that it worked for you). Just go to tools > Interactive and add a button field (I assume that's what you did before) and place the file there. At least give it a try because I think that's what you say you used to do.

'place' blurry images Photoshop Illustrator - at check in .pdf file?
I edited some images in Photoshop for use in a .pdf file I created in Illustrator.
In PS, images was beautiful and have been registered with the following parameters: .jpg/CMYK/Image Options: 10/Maximum. I have "placed" in the Illustrator file, everything was always wonderful, but I exported all of the .pdf file, the pictures came out blurry.
The resolution is 300 dpi for images of three, all pixels of 170 x 100, which is also the size, they are used to in Illustrator.
I note also that during the "placement" images in Illustrator, regardless of the type of file, the images are invariably much smaller that originally saved as. It's never happened before.
Any ideas on how to have clean images, in the PDF?
Things, I tried with no sign of improvement:
Standard, high quality print and print quality save settings
Save images as .jpg, .tiff, .psd in Photoshop to place in Illustrator
'Link' and no 'link' when you place it in Illustrator
Save images 2 x and 3 x the size in Photoshop to reduce in Illustrator
And a cap perforated how I'm viewing the PDF with the images at 100% in Acrobat:
The quality is affected by their scaling upwards - at least if that's what you were doing with the placed files.
170px wide at 300 dpi works be 0,5667 inches wide. Did you leave them this size or you increase their width/height?
If you resize them, what size do you want in the publication? Let's say that you want them to be 2 "wide. 2 inches x 300 DPI is 600px wide at 300 dpi.
Take care, Mike
Edit to add * using my desired example 2 "width, if we place a 170px 300 dpi image, enlarged width 2", the effective DPI is approximately 83 dpi.

How to optimize PDF files for mobile phones?
I am wanting to offer a white paper downloadable report on mobile devices, but do not know how to optimize PDF files so that they:
1. download quickly
2 are easy to navigate
3 display correctly without having to enlarge and scroll left and right
I know it's doable because my HTC Desire came with a few classic, easily installed PDF eBooks on it. Stories like "Dracula" and a "Tale of Two Cities' etc.
Any help would be appreciated
Dave has mentioned very good points to optimize the PDF for mobile devices. Its very easy to do using Acrobat. You can read more here: (I don't know the version that you are, then I'll try to include links for Acrobat 9 and X)
Optimizing PDF (learn how to reduce the size, remove embedding fonts, delete unnecessary data, etc.)
Acrobat 9
Acrobat X

In addition to this, here are my recommendations:
Conversion process:
To create smaller PDF, I'd say this plan from the beginning. As Dave mentioned - the smaller size PDF, you can select this joboption in the conversion dialog box (if you have the original word etc.which document that you create a PDF from). This will automatically make maximum part of the work for you. So, try to keep the smaller size since the beginning of the PDF creation will not give you a lot of trouble later.
Images:
You can also create some small thumnails of images and insert them into the original document before conversion. not resize in the document because it still contains the size of the original. Try to compress or resize them outside the document and then finally insert.
For example: If the image is 640 x 480 and you want only 50 x 50 in the PDF document. Try to resize using some applications like Adobe Photoshop or MS Office Manager pictures (comes in suite MS Office) or a lot of apps available for free online. then, finally, insert them into the document. If you resize them in the document itself, they will always be containing the size of the original.
Alongside this, try downsampling images at 72 dpi (using optimization PDF Acrobat) and use images poster rather than the videos. These images can having links pointed out the videos on the website.
PDF size:
Try to keep the size PDF between 1-2 MBs.

How can I automatically resize an imported PDF when I re-size the window?
I have and using RoboHelp 8 HTML and Acrobat 9 Pro. Once I "reduce file size", I can import PDF files without problem, and they seem very well when I discover the. But if I re-the window size of the browser, the images of the PDF files remain the same size, get a space more or less empty around them. I need really to grow and shrink with the window images. Is there a way to do this?
Mary Lee
Ah! So, they want a car that looks like their old horse. Which resembles the old PDF online help and most of the people hate help PDF.
If the content was a matter of HTML, it resizes. Return to power to explain the problem.
