Restoration of a patch of DB

SLES11SP2 Tier - s390 - DB

SLES11SP2 TIER - Linux x86_64 - APP

I post here because it applies to a database of the EBS.

Someone has already tried to restore a DB patch without the relevant patch_top (located in $ORACLE_HOME/.patch_storage/patch_number). The patch has been applied initially as part of the upgrade to 11 g in August 2012, but must now be set aside to implement a superset of the patch.

$ORACLE_HOME/.patch_storage/patch_number folder has been deleted inadvertently during the systematic cleaning of the file system.

Thank you

Please see:

OPatch throws: Action Archive: file Source "$ORACLE_HOME/.patch_storage/...". ' does not exist. (Doc ID 1244414.1)

You can delete $ORACLE_HOME/.patch_storage Directory? (Doc ID 403218.1)

Thank you

It seems that you need to manually restore the "1705401" patch and then install the Patch "20423535'. "

You must install (patch (be sure to download the patch for the version 11.1.1.7.7 and not 11.1.1.7.0) '1705401' on top of the Patch 20423535 (SOA Bundle Patch 11.1.1.7.7).)

  • Question about installing standalone Agent in patched environment

    Hi all

I have a question about the installation of an autonomous Agent of ODI, some information on the situation: I have Studio ODI 11.1.1.7.0 installed and configured. Everything worked fine until we have improved our environment from planning to 11.1.2.3.500 patch.  We had to apply the patch 18687916 for ODI solve some problems, but everything worked well again after that.  Now I need to install an autonomous agent to run scenarios in a batch, the agent will be on the same server as the ODI studio.  My question is can I run the installer and only select the autonomous agent then reapply the patch 18687916 or do I need to get out the patch 18687916 first, or something totally different?

    Hello

I think you should restore the 18687916 patch and then install the standalone agent, then patch 18687916 it.

But wait answer of the guru.

In my case, I did the thing above, and it works very well if it was my test environment.

    Thank you

  • Problem example application v207 Image 11.1.1.6.5 turnkey editing game patches

I use the sample application v207 pre-built image provided as a demo/bin to sand Oracle Linux. I was hoping the patch to 11.1.1.6.5 to crush a few bugs, even though I'm relatively new to the patching process OBIEE. I'm running into errors when you try to apply the 1st patch of the game (14696072). It seems he is trying to auto-restaurer one or more previous patches, as expected, but these rollback backup directories no longer exist. Maybe they have been removed from before the image in order to save storage space?

I searched the entire disk for traces of patch 14223977 , because there are references to this patch with errors in the log opatch. There is no such thing as the directory, he's trying to copy the files. I found two directories below that had references to this patch, but does not include any subdirectories that OPatch is looking for:

    / Home/oracle/obiee/Oracle_BI1/cfgtools/opatch/14223977_Jul_02_2012_16_48_19 /.
    / Home/oracle/obiee/Oracle_BI1/inventory/oneoffs/14223977 /.

So I was wondering if someone else tried to do these updates on this particular image and that he has found a solution. Maybe, it won't be possible if the files backup or restore to previous patches are missing actually. I'm kinda new to use opatch, so it is very possible, that is not the image, but I admittedely that is missing something. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Validate.bat fails after installing hotfix 17608117 on SPARC

We have recently added a 11.1.2.2.0 extra Essbase server in our environment.  "After patching the server to 11.1.2.2.105 and from Essbase, (start.sh), we get the following error:"

Thank you Rick.  The trick was to read the whole readme.  Once I have completed the following, Essbase started as expected.

Copy the files located in your bin directory:

Copy all the files from DRIVE\Hyperion\products\Essbase\EssbaseServer\localized\\bin for DRIVE\Hyperion\products\Essbase\EssbaseServer\bin.

Replace in the previous lines by the identifier of the language appropriate for your installation. The identifiers of language for each language available for this version are:

  • States of the buttons on a master slide

I want to put the navigation of the full course on more than one slide master.  I have read that you can only use active forms in the form of buttons on a model of slides, I could work with, but how do you declare for these buttons?  Ideally, I would like to text buttons since this is what I'll do, but that doesn't seem possible...

Is there a solution for this?

Buttons of form could have States on master slides in 8 but this feature has been

lost in the CP9 and is not always restored after two patches. I am very sad

on it, he connected immediately when 9 is released more than 1 year ago

  • Using the SYS account

    Dear all,

My database is Oracle 10 g on Windows platform.

Due to certain requirements (DBAs) checks must use our accounts indivisual instead of SYS.

I want to confirm if I assign SYSDBA, s/n, RESOURCES, CONNECT to a user it will get all the privileges that the SYS user have? I think I will be fine.

The second condition is now, if I get all the privileges in my own account who is saying "IMRAN" than will be using the SYS account. It can be disabled?

    Thank you and best regards.

SYS cannot be disabled.  Cannot delete SYSDBA privilege.  Any person who is granted the SYSDBA privilege and made a connection with "AS SYSDBA" actually connects under the SYS, not his named account account.

    Therefore,.

a: I would not grant SYSDBA to named users

    b. I would lock in a safe accessible only by a manager the "oracle" account (and any other account in the OSDBA group)

    c. ask the DBA using the DBA role (or a custom, more restrictive role)

    d. to request the account 'oracle' only for STARTUP, SHUTDOWN, RESTORE/RECOVERY and patch.  (assuming backups are automated scripted jobs)

  • R12.1.3 - question on db level cloning and oraInventory

    R12.1.3 on Linux RH 5.8 64-bit.

I cloned an instance of Prod to go through the application Jan 2014 PSU etc.  It comes to take the DB of 11.2.0.3.5 to 11.2.0.3.9.

Which seemed to work ok once I understood what I had to do (previous post that revealed that I had to restore a few patches).

Now, I want to run through this process again and after cloning this instance once more I found that my order "opatch lsinventory" tells me that I'm already patched to the level of the power supply.

I tried to rebuild my oraInventory via $ORACLE_HOME/oui/bin/attachHome.sh, then ouicli.pl, but in both cases, he tells me that I'm already at 11.2.0.3.9.

So is this a case of my $ORACLE_HOME is not being rebuilt as part of the update?

My cloning process is scripted and I use RMAN with a double active command I am running «adcfgclone.pl dbTechStack»  I think these are the relevant entries while I also update fnd_profile_option_values etc. and fnd_concurrent_requests.  Finally, it then executes adautocfg.sh.

I have to do something more to get an own ORACLE_HOME?  What is my problem?

Why do you still have files in the former $ORACLE_HOME on the target node?

Please change inventory_loc "inventory_loc = / app/oracle ', remove all files that belong to this instance (including oraInventory), runs to go ahead with the cloning process (preclone, copy all files, postclone).

    Thank you

  • Cannot start Windows 7 after the conversion of the physical machine

    Hello

I converted my windows 7 64 bit running physical machine to the virtual machine using converter 5.0. I am running VMWare Workstation 8.0. My physical machine hid the 100 MB boot partition and 90 GB main partition. During the conversion, I don't have an option to select a hidden partition, nor did I want in my virtual machine. Conversion failed with the following message (planned):

Unable to find the system volume, reconfiguration is not possible.

Then, I started the virtual machine using the Windows DVD and selected the option "repair". Once I arrived, I used diskpart to make my active primary partition and then followed the steps in this KB http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1037507 to fix everything including BCD. Once this was done, I used converted to reconfigure the virtual computer, and this time he succeeded. Everything was good and as expected up to that point. Now, when I start the VM, I get by BIOS init and then I get a black screen - no messages at all and he vm it is here without doing anything. I tried to fix it again and everything seems good (checked all the information using diskpart, bootrec and bcdedit so that automated repair) - everything seems to be in order, but the black screen is all I see when I try to start.

Any help to guide me to this point is very popular figure.

    Thank you

  • Question of OPatch with OBIEE

Hi, I am applying the 11.1.1.6.4 recent patches, but I am running with no easy way to get more space. I know that when OPatch is used, it creates backup copies that can be used to restore. I patched this server several times (11.1.1.6.0 to 6.1 to 6.2 6.2 BP1, now at 11.1.1.6.4).

Is there an easy way to delete all the old files (assuming that I don't roll back)? If so, where are they stored?

    Thank you!
    Scott

    Hello

Please see note: how to avoid disk full questions because OPatch backups take large amount of disk space. [550522.1 ID]

Also be sure to save disk space, you can remove the patch files $ORACLE_HOME/Oracle_BI1 /.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you
    SVS.

  • Anyone know how to restore a patch implementation stage (or patches) in the Update Manager?

Anyone know if you can draw a patch of staged once it is in the queue to be installed?  I.e. organize you a fix on a host computer, but then you decide that you prefer not to install it.  The documentation does not address this, but it sounds like it could be useful to have.

    Thank you

    Mark

You do not have to install a patch, simply because it is staged... it will just sit there until this used during a reorganization or the cache is cleared.  If you want to clear the cache, delete files/directories under/var/cache/esxupdate patch (if I remember correctly the path).
