  I am trying to download my first site, but I get the warning above when I try.  My images ARE in the 'root' folder in a file named "images".  AND in my finder, they are all fine.  And when I load in a browser to test the site everything works fine.

  During my construction, I imported images in my site from another file outside my "root folder" and Dreamweaver automatically copied them more in my "pictures" folder in my "root folder".

  Because Dreamweaver copied the images automatically, I deleted the original with the image file.

  Can anyone offer an explanation and a solution?

  Check your site definition. You can set a folder of images by default wrong with an absolute path.

• Unable to connect to the site after changing the hard drive

  The old hard drive on my Macbook Pro late 2011 crashed and had to be replaced.  I did a complete transfer of Time Machine and reinstalled the original system, OS Lion 10.7.5.  The only program that does not work is Dreamweaver (CS5.5).  When I try to download a page I get an error message long starting, "FTP error - cannot connect to the host.  Dreamweaver can connect to the host "xxxx.com".  This may be due to--the network cable is unplugged. "What went wrong, and what can I do?  My Dreamweaver is already installed on two machines, and it occurs to me that maybe I need to disable it somehow on the old hard drive, but this drive is dead like a stiff so I am unable to judge.  I'm not a Dreamweaver expert or professional site, but use the amateur program to update two Web sites without the help of an another webmaster.  Thank you very much.

  Details of setting up the site in Dreamweaver CS5.5 on Mac are stored in Macintosh HD / Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/11.5/Sites/Site Pref. It is possible that the file has been corrupted or it has not been copied with backup.

  The first thing to try is to open the Site Setup dialog box by going to the Site > Manage Sites, chose the site and clicking on the pencil icon to edit the details. Select the servers and see if the server information is correct. If this isn't the case, fix them.

  I recently got in creating websites so I am pretty new to this, Ive created a site for a friend with dreamweaver CS5 and it looks pretty awesome I also published the site using dreamweaver. Then a few weeks later, my friend started telling me to put new images etc. because it is not familiar with dreamweaver and guys its becomes a bit boring. I want him to be able to post pictures and texts on his own, but I do not know how, someone told me that other cms joomla. And the noob I am I couldn't understand oy what are these programs... Anyone has any advice, tutorials or something useful please share it with me.

  As John says, I would not bother. Flash does not work on the iphone or the ipad is a reading in which direction he's going.

  If this is the case, I think that it is perhaps a good idea to uninstall Dreamweaver. Before you reinstall, make sure that your personal configuration file has been deleted (see reinstalling Dreamweaver (or the extensions Manager) fails to solve problems). You should then have a completely clean copy of Dreamweaver has again the default settings of the program.

  Trying to export my CC Dreamweaver site definition files. But the documentation seems obsolete. According to Adobe, I should be able to select the site in the files window, and then go to file-> export, but this button is dimmed. Any help?

  Site > Manage Sites > highlight the places that you want to export > click on the button export (file with arrow)

  My previous Mac crashed and I lost everything. I had a backup disk. Done on my new Mac, I started dreamweaver and copied the files from my website to it. He acknowledged the site but no images are appearing on my pages in dreamweaver. They also do not exist when I saw in the browser? It also looks that my external stylesheet does not appear so?

  Unfortunately because my old mac crashed unexpectedly, I have never 'export' of my site. I just copy the files. Connection to the server is fine. all files appear in the file tab.

  In your site definition, you can delete public_html / your Web URL?

  It should just be http://cranbrookarcheryclub.ca/

  And root directory must be just public_html / (no leading slash operating)

  I have a Web site that has been in operation for several years. We have recently upgraded our computers and had to re - install Dreamweaver. When we did, it erases the link to website hosting. Is it possible to add a link to Dreamweaver for website hosting? I was about to set up a 'new site' in the program, but I'm worried it will cause problems, because the site still works (I just need to add/change information).

  While you have all the definitions of site currently?

  If so, just add the FTP info in those under Site > Manage Sites > click on site of your choice > servers.

  If no, you only need to put in place new site definitions and to choose site for your root directories, local folders and add the FTP under Site information > new Site...

  I keep a file of backup password protected STE files on remote server.

  Before that you must define a local site folder, manually enter your remote site settings and login details (I keep these details in a rolodex card).  If you do not have this information, you will need to contact your webhost.

  DOWNLOAD pages and no one to load the files from remote server.  You should be good to go.
