Resxtop - view of the camera: how to view the naa?

When executing RESXTOP and looking at the camera discovers 'u' we have the "Device" column where you can see the disks of different blocks.

However, I see only the first 15 characters in the id of the NAA, and since the NAA is much longer, it is not possible to see which device is which. Isn't it possible to change?

Hello.

To increase the width of the device name field:
  1. Esxtop start by running the command esxtop.
  2. Press u to display of the disk device.
  3. Press L (note this is a capital letter) to change the size of the name field.
  4. Enter the value 36 to display the identifier full naa.

Good luck!

  • Relationship between the naa and the number LUN? (And SCSI id and mpx)

When you look at a map of storage on a Fibre Channel network I see a few different "naa" id: s for each LUN. LUNs from the same SAN naa seems similar, but always unique.

My first question is if the "naa" is based on something physical disks or if he comes an ID the SAN attached to each logic unit number as it is created?

Is it true that a name of mpx is something an ESX host can produce when no naa is known?

The final question is the SCSI id that could be seen of a LUN in the storage of vCenter views. There seems to be a SCSI id for each disk/LUN, and I wonder what this SCSI id? If it was only a single disc, it might be a physical serial number of the drive itself, but when you look at a LUN composed of several discs there must be something else.

Its just only usually know the WWN for each unit number logic is unique.

Channel is a former SCSI reference - very rarely used nowadays, and, as you mention, is almost always '0'.

  • Support for the new camera [how to open files from Nikon D500 Raw in CS6?]

I want to download a more recent version of ACR that supports my D500 on CS6. The web seems to indicate that 9.1.1 is the latest version for CS6 and 9.6.1 for CC only.  I have LR 6.6.1 and it works fine but how open in CS6 with the DNG Converter or the opening of LR? Thank you

I want to download a more recent version of ACR that supports my D500 on CS6.

It is not possible. You need Camera Raw 9.5 or later which is only compatible with versions of Photoshop Cloud.

You'll have to convert to DNG for edit in CS6.

The web seems to indicate that 9.1.1 is the latest version for CS6 and 9.6.1 for CC only.

    That is right.

I have LR 6.6.1 and it works fine but how open in CS6 with the DNG Converter or the opening of LR?

You CAN convert the D500 Raw files to DNG with the DNG Converter

Digital Negative (DNG), Adobe DNG Converter | Adobe Photoshop CC

But since you already have LR 6.6.1 use it to convert to DNG, then edit the DNG in CS6.

  • disk unreadable message El Capitan/Canon camera - how to fix?

Since the upgrade of El Capitan I get 'no disc not readable' when connecting Cannon camera via USB and also when you use the card reader.

If your OS X 10.11 upgrade (an earlier version of Mac OS X like OS X 10.10 or less) gives trouble that your previous version have not lived, check with your Canon camera support to see if he and the software you are using is compatible with El Capitan. Firmware or software of your camera may require update for compatibility El Cap.  If the Canon updates are not available, you should wait for them or go back to your version of Mac OS X older but functional.

If you really Update to a 10.11.x El Cap to the latest version, you can simply need to use OS X recovery completely reinstall Mac OS from the recovery system stored on your startup disk.

If you need help, when you post, tell us what Canon camera and the software, if any, you use as well as what number of version of Mac OS you updated to and from.  We will try to offer more specific suggestions based on the details in your response.

  • IP camera: how to record raw MJPEG image on disk?

    Hello

I have an IP camera, streaming images JPEG compressed. I tried to use IMAQdx get Image Data.vi to get the raw bytes and save it on the disk, but I can't produce a valid JPEG file.

In the code below, test2.jpg is always valid JPEG around 69 KB file, while test1.jpg is still an invalid file around 65 KB (I tried settings Unicode big-endian and little-endian, with the same results).

    Any ideas?

Gah, rookie mistake... I forgot to disable "prepend array or string size" to write to the binary file.

I also don't need to convert the byte to a string array.

    Everything works now!

  • S110 does not see the window of the camera wireless (OSX)

I have a Canon S110, OSX 10.8.5 (mountain lion) as well as OSX 10.9.1 Mavericks (two different computers).

I don't have the active OSX Firewall or other security software.

I connect my computer to the wireless network and then connect the camera to the same network.  The two connect very well.  The camera how never never find Camera Window.  I tried to manually open the camera window, but it immediately says "no camera found".

I tried Camera Window 8.9.1 (because that's what literature Canon says is validated against 10.9), and I also tried the 8.10.1.15 version.  Camera works fine with the Smartphone (iphone) connected to the same network using IOS Camera Window.

I have attached the camera first via the USB port on each computer to do the initial installation and synchronize the SSL certificate.  The camera's firmware version 1.0.2.0 which is the last.

So with two versions of the camera window and two versions of Mac OS x, I can't see my camera more wireless.

Can someone direct me to what can go wrong?

    Thank you

    Brian

Did you install Camera Window from the CD or the Web site?

If the CD go to Canon Utilities CameraWindow Applications, wireless and then run WirelessCameraService and then try again see if the computer is detected.

  • How is the best way to capture image in lens profile Creator?

Hello, I read in the trouble-shooting Guide associated with Adobe Lens profile creator:

When the frame of the chart in different areas of the image of the image, use a combination of physically moving and tilting the camera to obtain an optimal balance for the generation of LCP.

    i. only to move the camera to frame, so that the plan of the image is perfectly parallel to the table, can have a detrimental effect on the calibration of PCL data.

II. only tilting the chart can lead to problems of depth of field, where the part of the graph can go too far blurred due to the wide angle of the chart regarding the level of the image. This can also have a detrimental effect on the LCP calibration data

OK, but I am not able to understand at all, please help me:

    (1) is it better if I will rotate the camera on the tripod to the left and to the right, or is - this better physically move the tripod on the left and right?

    2) is better if I'm going to tilt upward or toward the bottom of the camera on the tripod or it's better picking upwards or downwards the tripod bar?

    (3) if it is better to do a combination of tild and rotate and move the camera how do I know the optimal combination?

I hope that someone who has experienced this could explain better

    Thank you everyone

    Damiano

I don't know which is technically great, but there is a practical convenience aspect here, as well.

In my experiences with it, I moved physically the tripod in the direction of left and right and then refocused the camera vertically as required in order to put the target in the desired part of the image. I was happy with the results, although I did no comparative study deep.

IMO what technique allows you to perform a sufficient variety of acquisitions reasonably attentive, without being too difficult, and who does not renounce the analysis tool, will probably be good enough.

  • image is displayed on the camera

I can't see a picture on my camera (Canon powershot 110) after editing an image in photoshop.  I have the photoshop and lightroom.  I found information on the internet 'different proportions and resolutions that the camera' how can I fix the problem.

    Hi Linda,.

As a general rule, cameras will only show images directly accountable. From what you described, it seems you can do some changes such as cropping, rotation, etc. in Photoshop before going back on the camera. In this case, most of the cameras does not display a retouched picture (it looks that your Powershot is included in the present).

As Alec mentioned, if you really need to get your photos on your camera, I would contact Canon. However, a better option would be to simply store your modified image directly on your computer.

A quick search on Google raised many more technical debates like this. I suggest you to search online for discussions specific to your type of camera.

    Good luck!
