Retrieve / search a specific node of the XML file

Hello

I have a question about reading the XML (search) in PL SQL file:

There is an XML file with the following structure:
<root>
  <Hnode1 attr1="value1" />
  <Hnode2 attr1="value1" />
     <node1_of_Hnode2 id="10" personname="Steven"/>
     <node2_of_Hnode2 id="20" personname="Christian"/>
     <node3_of_Hnode2 id="30" personname="Arnold"/>
     .
     .
  <Hnode2/>
<root/>
How it is possible to filter a node by one of its attribute value. For example:
The id of a person - I guess that id = 20. In this case I would like to get the whole node (in this case node2_of_Hnode2) to get the personname = > 'Christian '.
Just like a SELECT statement (WHERE ID = 20)

Is it possible to get it in a single order or should it be buckled on all the lines in the Document. Can you please provide an example for me.

Thank you for advice!

The basic version is 10.

Sorry, this is not a version.
For example:

SQL> select * from v$version;

BANNER
----------------------------------------------------------------
Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.5.0 - 64bi
PL/SQL Release 10.2.0.5.0 - Production
CORE     10.2.0.5.0     Production
TNS for 64-bit Windows: Version 10.2.0.5.0 - Production
NLSRTL Version 10.2.0.5.0 - Production

The use of the extraction of the values?
1. better in a Select statement. assignment directli in a variable, or by using the xmlquery function?

PL/SQL or SQL calls to the XMLType methods such as getStringVal() or extract() function should be equivalent (save the change of context).
However, none of them are the right way to retrieve a scalar value of a given node.
You must use the rather extractValue() function (SQL only) for immediate release< 11.2="" and="" xmlcast/xmlquery="" starting="" with="">

Another Question:

I've seen a lot of options for dealing with XML files.

In my case only query data in XML files is relevant.

I've seen to many API called XMLDOM, DMBS_XMLDOM, XMLTYPE...

When to use these APIs. Can you give me feedback on this please?

It is a broad topic.
An appropriate response will depend on your condition.

-You have to deal with large files and if so what size?
-Performance/memory management is a concern for you?
-You want to extract unique values or process the XML content in the form of relational data?

If you have any specific test cases to show us, please post in the {forum: id = 34} forum and make sure to include all the necessary details (see the FAQ).

    My event.result may or may not return a node in the xml file. How can I avoid that TypeError: Error #1009: cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.

    I have a very simple question. I want to take the value of

    Event.Result.Item.nodeindex1.nodeindex2.Row.MyValue;

    and assign it to a text field

    mytextTi.text = event.result.item.nodeindex1.nodeindex2.row.myvalue;

    But if a part of the tree is missing, which is also valid, so I get TypeError: Error #1009: cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.

    I tried various solutions such as the following. Is there any simple way to do this?

    If (event.result.item.nodeindex1.nodeindex2.row.myvalue! = undefined)-does not work

    Unfortunately, one must test all levels to ensure that it is not null before the reference to it. You can take advantage of the short-circuit evaluation in tying together, for example

    if (event.result.item
        && event.result.item.nodeindex1
        && event.result.item.nodeindex1.nodeindex2
        && event.result.item.nodeindex1.nodeindex2.row
        && event.result.item.nodeindex1.nodeindex2.row.myvalue)
    {
        // access the variable
    }
    else
    {
        // one of the XML nodes in the path is null
    }

    Or you could stay away from her a little hacky and wrap the reference in a try/catch block.

  • Add the node to the xml file

    Hello

    I'm trying to scan a file xml in the following way:

    // read the content
        var xml_file = File(xml_file_path);
        xml_file.open('r');
        var content = xml_file.read();

    Since you already have the XML parsed in a document, the easiest is to use xmlSearch(). Take a look at the doc, it is pretty easy to use. Something as simple as:

    To the most complex as:

  • How to call the specific node of the navigation model?

    Hello

    I have a portal application webcenter containing a custom navigation template. HIES model is used by the menu tree and bread crumbs.
    Users request a link in the template to navigate to the home page. I could make a case of navigation in my ADFC-config file to navigate to the home page, but I would rather use the navigation model. Is there a way to select a specific node in the navigation model and navigate using a button or a link?
    I've been looking for this much time, but could not find an example. It's has enough of the menu etc, but not cela.
    Thank you...

    You can use the same navigation model just like using the template of menu xml

  • Change "current node" of the XML object

    Hello

    I am trying to edit the "current node" of an XML object, but I still don't know what will be the current node.

    My XML object to load an external XML file:

    < mx:XML id = source="assets/article_text.xml"/ "featureData" >

    and I read that data through a < mx:Repeater > create a < mx:TextArea > for each 'currentItem '.

    < mx:Repeater id = dataProvider = "{featureData.body_text.children ('repeatParas')}" >
    "< mx:TextArea htmlText =" {repeatParas.currentItem} "width ="80% "borderStyle ="none"click =" showBodyEditor (event, event.currentTarget.getRepeaterItem ()) "verticalScrollPolicy =" off "creationComplete ="resizeTextArea (event); "updateComplete ="resizeTextArea (event); "/ > < / mx:Repeater >

    A click on < mx:TextArea > event load a pop-up window containing a RichTextEditor that contains the content of currentItem:

    private void showBodyEditor(event:Event,_item:String):void {}
    var pop1:BodyEditor = BodyEditor (PopUpManager.createPopUp (this, BodyEditor, true));
    Set the properties of the custom component BodyEditor.
    POP1.showCloseButton = true;
    POP1.targetBodyText = event.currentTarget;
    POP1. CurrentNode = item;
    PopUpManager.centerPopUp (pop1);
    }

    I then passes the value of everything that has been entered in the return to the initial < mx:TextArea > RichTextEdior via a function on a button click event '' made '' (processBodyText()):

    [Bindable]
    public var targetBodyText:Object;
    [Bindable]
    public var currentNode:String;

    Transfer data to text boxes
    private function processBodyText (): void {}
    targetBodyText.htmlText = String (bodyTextForm.htmlText);
    currentNode = String (bodyTextForm.htmlText);
    Remove pop-up.
    PopUpManager.removePopUp (this);
    }

    But what I can't do is actually updated for that node in the featureData XML object without explicitly saying what node to update (for example, it works: parentApplication.featureData.body_text.p [1] = String (bodyTextForm.htmlText);) I don't necessarily know which node to update, I just want to be able to update some node I happen to be editing at the time.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks to anyone who can enlighten us!

    I'll reply to my own post (where everyone was watching).

    I just changed the parameters/variables currentNode type Object (instead of string) and within the processBodyText function, I replaced

    currentNode = String (bodyTextForm.htmlText);

    with

    currentNode.setChildren (bodyTextForm.htmlText);

    who updates the node in the XML data provider.

    I still need to get rid of some of the gobblygook of html that is passed to the rear (for example < TEXTFORMAT LEADING '2' = >) but as long as I am able to update the current node, I'm happy (for now).

    What I meant is that if you load the XML e4x, you have to analyze in a table to use it. You can retrieve the syntax of e4x XMLList and use it directly in your code. You can treat the XMLList almost as you treat any array using a for each loop for example.

    Take the code below as an example and adapt it to your needs:

    var mainMenu:XMLList = this.testXML.menu;

    for each {var menu: XML (in mainMenu)}

    trace ("Menu:" + menu.@txt);

    You can use your logic to create menu main point here

    var mynavItem:Navitem = new Navitem (0, spatie * i, GlobalVarContainer.my_array [i] [0], [i, 0], false, true);

    this.holder.addChild (mynavItem); ABLE TO VIEW THE MAIN MENU

    var items: XMLList = menu.children ();

    If (items.length () > 0) {}

    for each {var point: XML (in the points)}

    trace ("point:" + item.@txt);

    Logic of creation of subitem here

    var mySubnavItem:Navitem = new Navitem (dash, spatie * (i + 1 + j), GlobalVarContainer.my_array [i] [2], [i, j], true);

    this.holder.addChild (mySubnavItem);        DISPLAYS ONLY THE LAST ENTRY IN THE SUBMENU

    }

    }

    }

  • The data in the XML file validation

    Hi gang...

    Just got a project (not) I have to analyze and validate an xml document... the work is as follows:

    1. gather xml

    2 analyze the data

    3. validate the data

    4 insert data into db

    5 send the message to the browser

    I don't know what is the best way to go about this problem in a productive way, using everything that's out there.

    Any help would be appreciated.  (the xml file is included)

    Netpagino

    I don't know exactly what you mean by "validation of the data in an XML file.  At first glance, I interpreted your request that means you have to check that the XML file is well-formed,... that is to say, according to the DTD or schema.  But on re-reading your post, I'm not sure.

    Of course, you want to use full construction CF XML processing and querying capabilities.  (You want to use an XPath search to find the nodes, for example...)  As for the later task then check the data contained in these nodes against various business rules, well, who would take more thought.  But remember (a) that it is very much ground (so "do not re-invent the wheel"), and (b) you have all Java at your disposal if you need it.

    Hello

    Some attributes of my camera our watch camera (DALSA CamExpert) software but are not displayed in MAX.

    When I opened the xml file, I don't see a difference between the attributes shown and hidden.

    Why LabView displays all possible attributes?

    The sml file has specific requirements?

    Any ideas?

    Hello Eric,

    I solved the problem yesterday!

    I use a DALSA camera. Dalsa software downloads the XML file and saves it in a directory 'dalsa"on my local disk.

    National instruments software (MAX) downloaded XML file and saves it in another directory. The 2 files were not equal. I replaced the XML file OR the XML of Dalsa file and now I'm able to get all attributes.

    But thanks for your response!

    Kind regards

  • Processing the XML file

    I have a requirement to process a stream of xml files and load its content in the oracle as a name-value pair tables. Basically, my table has three columns ID, Detail_NM, Detail_val.  I have to extract the ID and the corresponding details and store it in this table. The XML file looks like in below.  I can use an extract sql but you are looking for the most effective way to do it. Even if nothing new is introduced, I should be able to treat them without explicitly mentioning the name of the element.  Is there a better way to deal with?  Please, share your ideas.  Thanks in advance

    Sorry, missed your last answer once again.

    If there is a root node, it is even simpler.

    And you can certainly use an intermediate binary table of XMLType:

      4 -- optional step for small files

    12    select x1.id

  • Flash is not save changes to the .xml file.

    Hello

    I need to download a new version of my app on iOS, but the .xml file will not hold the new version I am writing on the 'AIR for iOS settings' window on Flash cc 2015. It keeps appearing as:

    <? XML version = "1.0".

    also when I try to download the new .ipa on iTunes Connect with the Application Loader, I get this message:

    "" "ERROR-ITMS-4238:"redundant binary Upload. " «"" "" There is already a binary download with release ' 1.0.0' train ' 1.0.0 ' "at SoftwareAssets/PreReleaseSoftwareAsset»»»

    The problem is not of Application Loader or iTunes Connect as when I open again the .fla and check the window 'AIR for iOS parameters' he continues to display the 1.0 version over and over again. If Flash does not save changes to the .xml file.

    And it happens with all my other apps Android or iOS, old and new versions, all appear as <? XML version is "1.0" on the .xml file.

    Is anyone know how can I solve this problem?

    Thank you.

    Hi Pablopi,

    The version you make reference to is the XML version. What to change is the node called "versionNumber".

    So, try to replace 1.0.0 1.0.1.

  • How to use resource element in the xml file in the workflow?

    Good afternoon

    In my workflow, I put a parameter of the attribute with the element of resource type and the value of the attribute is an xml file.

    And I had a problem with xml files in my workflow, I would like to use the information in the xml file to store in the variable...

    Example: in the xml file, I put some information about the number of VLAN ID, and in my script task, I would like to know how is used with myvariable.portgroup [0].spec.vlanId?

    Best regards.

    Like this:

    var myXml = new XML(resource.getContentAsMimeAttachment().content);

    You can then access your nodes like this:

    myXml.node.subnode

    Google for e4X to get the syntax complete.

  • Create an image slider using the XML file photo gallery

    Hello!

    I have created a photo gallery and generated an xml file.  I want to implement a cursor image on the home page that performs a simple fade from one image to the other.

    I'm not an expert on jQuery. The BC help section says to add code that retrieves in the XML file and THEN add another code query j who would style images and transitions.

    I don't know how to do this.  Here is my code and it does not work.

    If you have a simple solution, it would be great.

    There is a script called JSSOR

    "< script type =" text/javascript"src ="... / js/jquery-1.9.1.min.js "> < / script >"

    <!-use jssor.slider.mini.js (40 KB) instead for immediate release->

    <!-jssor.slider.mini.js = (jssor.js + jssor.slider.js)->

    < script type = "text/javascript" src = "javascripts/jssor.js" > < / script >

    "< script type =" text/javascript"src="javascripts/jssor.slider.js "> < / script >

    This is the beginning of the code BC gives to pull from the xml file into a div called "Gallery".

    < div id = 'Gallery' > < / div >

    < script type = "text/javascript" >

    {$(function()}

    $.ajax({)

    type: 'GET ',.

          url: " http://www.performanceaire.com/Fahrenheit-images/BannerGallery/Photogallery.XML ", / / replace with an absolute URL of the XML of your gallery of .

    data type: "xml."

    success: {function (xml)}

    {$(xml).find('img').each (function ()}

    location var = ' http://www.performanceaire.com/Fahrenheit-Images/BannerGallery/'; / / Replace with the absolute path to the directory that contains your images

    var url = $(this) .attr ('src');

    var alt = $(this) .attr ('alt');

    $('<li></li>').html (' < a href = "' + place +" + url + ' "> < img src ="' + place + "+ url + '" alt = "' + alt + '" / > < / a > ').appendTo('#gallery');

    });

    }

    });

    });

    This is the code taken from JSSOR to transitions occur, and it does not work... any ideas?

    jQuery (document) .ready (function ($) {}

    var options = {}

    $AutoPlay: true, / / [optional] If auto play, to activate the slide show, this option must be set to true, the default value is false

    $DragOrientation: 1 / / orientation [optional] to drag the slide, 0. drag, 1 horizental, 2 3 vertical or, default value is 1 (note that the $DragOrientation must be the same as $PlayOrientation when $DisplayPieces is more than 1, or in the parking position is not 0)

    };

    var jssor_slider1 = new $JssorSlider$ ("Gallery", options);

    });

    < /script >

  • How to import the xml file into bcc?

    My input to atg file is xml containing assets of category or products.

    I want the Scheduler to run to auto create a project and send an e-mail to the customer for approval.

    When the client approves the xml file, and then run the Scheduler to get the data from the xml file into bcc.

    I use: SingletonSchedulableService for this

    Give me a direction for the same thing.

    Thanks in advance.

    I want to implement this in bcc.

    What listener will listen to the authorization of the client for email (that contains the XML to import) we sent to him?

    You will need to do a custom development to hang your workflow customized with incoming e-mail. To send notifications by mail electronic action is already there, and while creating his element within the ACC, you can specify a JSP page for the email template. You can view the rest of the relevant documents:

    Oracle, Web ATG Commerce - Workflows

    Oracle, ATG trade Web - action workflow items

    I recommend you to consult the existing source of DeploymentEmailer in \Publishing\samples\Java and see different types of DeploymentEvent and States can be used, based on your requirement in your custom component. See also these API javadocs for the process and the events of deployment available:

    DeploymentEvent (ATG Java API)

    DeploymentServer (ATG Java API)

    ATG has a component/atg/dynamo/service/POP3Service to retrieve messages from a POP3 e-mail server, but it is mainly used to detect the bounced email. Not too sure if it helps or adjustment in your case, but still you can go through all the details to know what is already there:

    Bounced from Oracle ATG Web Commerce - E-mail

    You can also check the event InboundEmail and API javadocs for InboundEmailMessage which are used in this function of rebound detection E-mail:

    Oracle, ATG trade Web - InboundEmail event

    InboundEmailMessage (ATG Java API)

    Now based on all this, if you extend and customize a lot of things, that it would be little complex and tedious detect mail incoming approval based on its content and then advance your workflow. Another approach may be to put a URL in the e-mail template of your notification by e-mail that the approver will click and on the landing page, you can authenticate and advance your workflow to the needs.

  • Navigate trough different 'levels' in the XML file from the known item?

    I am quite new to this, so I have to ask even if it's a stupid question...

    I am trying to build a generic oracle procedure that can insert data into a table from a file XML so that message that it contains, but of course the messages has the same structure.

    I need to find the first item after data, in this case "CUS_ORD_HEAD", but it could be any message as PO_HEAD.
    So I need to somehow find the element without knowledge is the name of the element. It goes same for CUS_ORD_LINE that might be PO_LINE. Is it possible to navigate through the different 'levels' in the XML file from a known element.

    < CustomerOrder >
    < metadata >
    < TransActionIdentity > 1 < / TransActionIdentity >
    < / metadata >
    < data >
    < Client CUS_ORD_HEAD = 'ABC' CustomerOrderNumber '1234' = >
    < CUS_ORD_LINE CustomerOrderNumber = "1234" OrderedQuantity = "10" ProductNumber = "1001403" CustomerOrderLinePosition = "1" / >
    < HAPI_CUS_ORD_LINE CustomerOrderNumber = "1234" OrderedQuantity = "1" ProductNumber = "2530" CustomerOrderLinePosition = "2" / >
    < CUS_ORD_LINE_TEXT CustomerOrderLinePosition = '2' Text = "Test" CUSTOMERORDERNUMBER = "1234" / >
    < / HAPI_CUS_ORD_HEAD >
    < / data >
    < / CustomerOrder >

    the tablename parameter is identical to the XML element and attributes are the same as the columns

    OK, understood.

    You can retrieve the name of the element and attribute names in the same time by using something like the following.
    Attribute names are stored in a collection that is accessible iteratively in order to build the dynamic parts of the query:

    SQL> CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE TColumnList IS TABLE OF VARCHAR2(30);
      2  /
