  I'm recovering emails from my email to the Inbox of Microsoft Exchange Server.

  I tried with integrated workflows 'retrieve messages (via MailClient)"located under the Library/Mail. But I got the error message "connection failed" when running the threshold of this workflow.

  I use the pop3 Protocol and port 143. Please see screenshot below. Although I am able to send the email successfully through workflow 'sent the notification' in the library/mail folder.

  I tried to get Thunderbird to access my Hotmail via IMAP instead of POP account, so I moved all my messages from the account in "Local Folders", then I deleted the POP account and created the new IMAP one. After that I started to move messages on the IMAP account, but I came across some problems when the server wouldn't want to accept all messages I download and it stops.

  So, I decided to everything from "Local Folders" on the account IMAP while Thunderbird has been disconnected, once finished, I went online and he decided instead to download the messages newly found in my IMAP account on the server, delete messages. I guess because the real online account contained no file so he wanted to synchronize and make my folder in offline mode also contain no files.

  Window live mail will not recover messages unless I restart my pc. If I reboot and then open direct mail all right, but if I wait a few hours (perhaps a shorter time...) If I then reboot my pc, direct mail works (until next time).

  We have used Thunderbird on Windows 7 for almost a year. And we have been very happy with it and had no problems.

  Today, somehow it has taken during the last six weeks of the messages in our Inbox and moved them in the mailbox of Archives in a folder called '2015 '. I don't know how or why it does this.

  More important still, when I opened this file and attempted to transfer the messages to my Inbox, messages simply disappeared. I finally found them under the Windows Temp file.

  I tried to recover these messages in our Inbox, but all attempts have failed. All messages now have a text file extension. My guess is that the file type is not correct now.

  How can I get these messages restored in my Inbox?

  After looking for the message objects based on my outgoing messages during the period, I finally found the missing incoming messages. They were in the Inbox of my Eudora import. I must have put there by mistake instead of the Inbox for my main account. Me dummy.

  While I am relieved to have found them, I still don't know how the Archive was created in the first place. But I don't want to give credit to some creative stepping of a cat. More probably, they hit the right keys to make it happen. I suppose a programmer of Thunderbird could know how it happened.

• New version 38.2.0 does not send the password to the gmx server to retrieve messages.

  Since Thunderbird updated to 38.2.0 it will not send the password. It connects to the e-mail server but does nothing after that. I can not get any message. I am able to send mail without problem. I use as a GMX.FR mail server.

  Unless yo have a backup that contains this message (i.e. was still on the phone when the reverse has occurred), no.

  To avoid this problem, there are two things you can do:

  1. Application settings > Messages > Messages keep [the amount of time you want the value]
  2. No relay text messages to store critical business information.

  The only downside to all this is that it is not post, so no user interface do Message in this way.  However, you still get all the features of the OutputMessages.
