• Custom LabVIEW projects

  I'm trying to create a new template to be used with LabVIEW 2013 Create Project wizard. I followed the tutorial "using examples and custom models of projects to develop LabVIEW projects" but always seem to have questions.

  I'm sure it's something really simple that I'm doing wrong, but can't seem to find the problem.

  I placed the template project in the xml code in metadata/ProjectsTemplates-LabVIEW and LabVIEW/ProjectTemplates data sources data.

  When I create a new project using the wizard, the project is created and works perfectly the first time.

  Then when I open it again, there's a load of conflicts that exist all of a sudden where some of the vi are linked to the model project.

  I can go and solve all conflicts and the project works, but there must be something I am doing wrong.

  I'll be grateful for any help getting this sort. I have attached the conflicts and my xml file (I changed the extension of the xml file to attach it).

  I had a look at my model and noticed that I had records value auto fill. I who took off in the model, and it seems to work now.

• Menus custom objects

  I'm starting with custom objects, but the menu does not match other screenshots I've seen here on topliners. In the custom menu object, the only option is 'Search for custom object records' (see screenshot). Y at - it something I need to install or configure to use these, or am I just missing something?

• How can I create menus customized Burger?

  I would like to create a menu custom Burger - specifically, an icon of menu Burger - for my site.

  I use a menu Burger for 768 and below breakpoints and have the title who is currently working, but I would like to add an icon for users know to click/tap on it to open/close.

  I've included screenshots of the State open and closed from the current menu Burger for reference.

• Reuse content in different projects

  Dear community,

  I created a file cp "re - use_content.cp", which has a few slidetelts of commom turnover and turning areas that I will use in many other projects.

  The simple procedure is to copy the form of rollover slidelet "re-use_content" file and paste it into the file "new - project.cp ' or 'existing_project.cp' as required.

  The question is: this procedure may cause problems?

  -I wonder this because when I paste an object that contains many elements, the element name may already exist. (name of the caption text, name of the item element area reversal, etc.)

  Hi Santi

  Probably, you already work in as efficiently as possible with this. As far as names go, Captivate should set internally, so you don't end up with duplicates. Normally it will rename the elements to take account of this situation.

  What would be cool is if we had a possibility to open another library. We already have this capability, but the downside is that the library list elements such as the rollover slidelets. So I might suggest that you fill out a form would ask so that it can be added at some point.

• Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 to create custom DVD menus

  I know that from EL 11 it is possible through 11 EL Photoshop to create DVD menus customized from scratch.

  I can't find on the Internet for both adequate documentation he created on Photoshop EL 11 and to import/use the Premeiere EL 11.

  The only problem you might have, other that to get all aspects structural and naming correct (very accurate), would be creating sets of layer to post-secondary studies. I don't know if they have been added to the PSE, and they are required to create the buttons. As I use Photoshop and have no PSE, I can't tell you if layer sets have been added.

  I highly recommend that you spend time with your pre model Menu, to study all aspects of what is required. Even if I create Menus (on point) and Menu Sets for PrE, I always use one of these templates as a "guide".

  Now, if PSE has yet layer sets, we can always find a model existing Menu Set, which approximates what they want to do and change that strongly to post-secondary studies.

  One thing that fires upward from many creators of DVD Menu, when they start coming out, is that the button no. may overlap another button, even 1 pixel.

• Creation of blu - ray and DVD standard of same video project - issue of menus

  I have a video project, I intend to distribute on blu - ray and standard DVD. I plan create all menus and buttons for the blu - ray disc first. Can I just reduce the menus and buttons in again when I go to create the DVD standard? Or better, I'll recreate the standard DVD menus in Photoshop? Someone else to create the menus same br and standard DVDs? Any tips? I'm using CS5. Thank you.

  I would certainly agree with Jim's response above too.

  The problem with trying to use the same image is not massively different resolution (1920 x 1080 from 720 x 480), but also the size of the pixels.

  BD uses square pixels and what you design is what you get in the disc - DVD on the other hand uses non-square pixels and it can be a nightmare to design if you try at the scale of the images of high Resolutiom down to SD

  The SPHL button are also different - BD requires a separate layer for each State of the button to coloiurs up to 256 while DVD gives you the complete package on 2 bits of an image indexed with a total of 3 corridors.

  I would definitely say to create separate menus for each project.

• VeriStand custom controls

  I'm just starting to use the evaluation copy Veristand to see if it can do what I need it to do.  It seems very customizable, and I tried to create controls in the workspace personalized with Labview.  I would like to make things like radio buttons, lists and menus in the workspace to control my drop-down model.  I have tried everything just by taking one of the digital controls and its replacement by one of the controls mentioned previously, but it gave me an error message saying they were not supported.  It seems that I'd be able to do this using the free label template, but I'm not sure how to do this.  I was able to find an example of a custom indicator (min/max one), but could not find everything related to custom controls.  Are there examples or tutorials, that I could look at?  How could I go for some of these controls of Labview in things that I could use the Veristand workspace?

  Hello Junior, I have some answers for your problem.

  1. I have attached a zip file that contains your renamed control and build a project in it. You should be able to unpack, check the construction features and make sure that the output destination is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\National Instruments\VeriStand\Display models. Trigger a build on that and you should get EricHettlerSample - Radio.vi and EricHettlerSampleControlSupport.llb in there. Once you have this launch a workspace, you will be able to drop the EricHettlerSample - Radio in the control list control.

  2. for the explanation. I think that when you perform a save as on the example of the min - max you download the Web of LabVIEW cross link on the screws that the llb with that of the vi.lib. Do a save as will not work. What works, it is that you create a project and setup a source distribution to generate the custom control. Here are the steps that I have take based on your attached file:

  1. Rename in windows Explorer, the attached digital indicator - radio.vi to EricHettlerSample - radio.vi
  2. Open LabVIEW convert the .llb you connected to a directory.
  3. Create a new project file.
  4. Radio.vi open EricHettlerSample - under my computer, when LabVIEW invites me to some VI I search in the directory to convert llb. Note that LabVIEW search more files under vi.lib because these are the files that NI VeriStand install labview directory.
  5. Once I added some of the screws, I mass compile the project.
  6. Create a source distribution. Add the EricHettlerSample - radio.vi. Go to setting source file main vi for the folder models and all otherwise go to a folder of llb.
  7. Trigger the build, LabVIEW will do a better job in creating an isolated component which is properly connected.

  In General, you always want to create a project to create a custom, control given that Save As not always worked with the LabVIEW VI link in NI VeriStand.

  To create a completely custom control project base what you do is:

  1. Copy C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\National Instruments\VeriStand\Display Templates\Decoration - free Label.vi in Explorer windows in a directory of your choice.
  2. Make a change of name on VI in Windows Explorer.
  3. Open LabVIEW to create new project add the renamed VI in my computer. This will create an empty project to customize the custom controls.

  I hope this helps, let me know if it still does not for you.

  Also if you still embarrassed by the error messages appears so you will want to clean directory C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\National Instruments\VeriStand\Screens this directory being where NEITHER VeriStand puts all the controls that you drop into the workspace cache. So if you have a control that cannot be loaded remove all screws in this directory should remove the wrong screws.

• Yet CS5/6 is able to switch between PAL and NTSC as types of projects?

  I am quite aware of the need to use video media encoded differently and background menu for projects PAL and NTSC and already coded files PAL and NTSC.  However, what has not to change between the two projects are many menus, custom routing button and all Dolby AC3 audio files for 7 languages that are already in my NTSC Encore 5 project.  What I want to know is: is there a way to pass again from NTSC to PAL in an existing project file?  I tried the switch "TV standard" under "project settings" but it is always grey, even on more new projects with no media.  I fiddled with the words 'NTSC' and 'PAL' in the file ProjectMedia.acx to see if that would help, but he does not have much visible effect.  I just need to know if this is impossible, especially in the new CS6 again?  I'd rather not re - build a new project with all the same, but my media files and menu backgrounds, but need to know if I have to.

• Custom data type

  I also recommend trying a templateVariable. You can use this to create a container with a particular name that you can copy in various places in the variable pane and change the names of the properties of confined there.

• How to integrate model of custom device controller

  I now live a labview including 18 sub controller model, and I am trying to run this controller on RTOS VxWorks, through customized device model.

  1. when I tried to run a model simple controller (ex, a controller with 3 ~ 4 void / screw) on RTOS VxWorks, I just put simple controller in RT Driver.vi model, and then the build and deployment succeeded.

  2. then, I did it with my model of labview in the same way above controller, but I couldn't even build my model controller labview. I don't know why, but the build process stops at the initialization stage. I think that this problem will appear when there are more than 3 ~ 4 sub vis are added under the custom device project.

  Any ways to use a model of controller labview instead of just put a model in RT Driver.vi?

  Now, I managed to build my model labivew, I saw the light of the compactRIO blinked, which measn the connection is ok by CAN - Bus.

  But it's still weird and not possible to build my model at a time. In addition, cannot again build the custom devcie just before successfully built after the addition of two functions simply.

  In any case, the solution to my problem is as below.

  For example, my cruise controller written in labview consists of 3 simulation systems arrive.

  Each system to arrive includes several subsystems.

  First, create the model after adding one of 3 major subsystems. (In this case, I never had errors in the construction of models of labview)

  Secondly, if the first step is ok, add one of the other 2 systems come in the custom device and then build again.

  Thirdly, add the remaining subsystem in the custom device and establish the entire model and deploy it to the target.

  With three steps above, I can still build devices customized successfully.

• Custom refresh device channels instead of remove device

  One of the great pains that I have met is when you change i/o on a custom device, you must remove and re-add the device custom Veristand project for new channels in the project. This destroys all the channels linking and creates pain when changing custom devices of County canal.

  I've created a good work around. I have create a VI that sweeps the current channels in the Veristand project against the list of channels in the compiled custom device. I then delete the items that don't belong, and add channels that do not exist. The net result is that only the channels that have been deleted to create bad links (obviously) and all the old links remain intact.

  I then create a menu right click on the home page of the personal device that runs the VI I created.

  The end result is a function that works just like the button "Refresh" on a model.

• Device application customized with user controls.

  Let's say I use the tool of creation of customized device model to create a LabVIEW project for my custom device. I want to have a panel of user (a group of digital and Boolean values) for the user to change values in the messages that the appliance sends values (such as the temperatures and voltages) and so.

  I see no reason why you can't use a switch in the method of itemType rather than add a new field to your DB. Here's a possible scenario for implementation.

  Define the subcategory structure in the GroupArtistDataModelDecorator.hpp header file:
